FL8 4
I was just thinking now, that he possible gone to Zenit, because money that they gave for him were literally to huge to refuse. I heard somewhere, that going to St. Petersburg was far from Hulk's dreams, but Porto pushed him out and took some serious cash.P.S. They also bought few minutes ago Witsel. They both went for 40 m. Euros. Maybe Zenit took a challenge from Andzi to try to conquer Europe with some huge investments...Edit:Hulk's words: "I wasn't expecting this. I had no reasons to leave, but my agent called me and told that FC Porto and Zenit have reached a deal."

Las7 951
Best Russian club, St. Petersburg is a nice city, top payed footballer in the World, in the Champions League sure Russian League is a side step but I'd say Zenith is a more ambitious team than Porto. No one would turn it down unless, it's a guy like Navas who has mental issues about going outside of Spain. Badboy 1,526
Typical dumb third world striker like Asamoah Gyan. How the hell do you ruin your career like that at 25 with a 5 year deal the clown, this is what pisses me off with these fucking idiots. How many of them play in eastern Europe and when they want to leave like Willian they can't because the dumb fucks don't realize that they have signed long term deals. Slam Dunk 1,442
I wasn't expecting this. I had no reasons to leave, but my agent informed me FC Porto and Zenit have reached a dealRussia is hardly his ideal scenario it seems. Oh well, I'm sure all that money will soften the blow somewhat. Kojo 4,676
I'm angry that he didn't tell Porto's president that he wants to leave, and show a bit more ambition to join us. That's just the part of me what is spoilt though.Hulk is a top bloke, and it's rare you get that loyalty these days, his neice died not so long ago and Porto gave him all the support and time off they could, he will never lose that gratitude for them. Very nice bloke and very talented player, it's a shame he wont join us and he never will as Porto wanted too much money and it's not worth it. But i have huge respect for Hulk, and good luck to him in the future.Although he has signed with Zenit, it's better he didn't join any rival club at least, but he didn't make a scene for Porto so they had to accept less money. Waterfall 893
Even if they cost the same amount of money, I would have gone for Mata instead of Hulk. Never understood why the latter is so highly rated. Probably the name
KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
Grossly overpriced and I fear for him that we won't be hearing much from him anymore now that he's gone to Russia (Same thing with Eto'o). He's 26 (?) so I doubt any big club will try to buy him again. Shame that he's practically stalled and damaged his career beyond repair. Firstly for agreeing a massive buyout clause with Porto was insane. They were always going to try to price him out of a move, especially from us. So he should have forced their hand by handing in a transfer request. This move however practically kills his career. He may even struggle to get into the Brazil team now. I'm even more disappointed in Witsel though.
Sir Mikel OBE 4,920
This is heartbreaking in all honesty. Not because we wont get him(I had pretty much accepted that), but because we are going to lose a dynamic footballer at the club level. We simply wont hear about him anymore. Eto'o is a much bigger name than him, and scores whenever he wants in Russia, and him boycotting the Cameroon national side is the first I have heard of him in a year.I do believe Witsel is young enough to where he can still create a career in a bigger league in the future though.
