David Luiz

Yes that is right he played in the pivot so was not irreplacable in the back four or as a defender ,you seem to have defeated your own argument and some of his antics do border on clown like ,a bit like you on here in some respects :clown:

So, around 40+ games at CB is completely overlooked because he played a few games in midfield, that's funny. Have you ever heard of squad rotation? Have a look at which games he actually played in midfield for us and you'll soon see that opposition were generally sub standard.

Don't know why it's so hard for anyone to see that Luiz played in the pivot a few times because of lack options/injuries against poorer opposition and because we've actually got good depth in defence.

Jose said himself he sees Luiz as a CB anyway. You seriously can't use the fact that he played around 10-15 games in midfield as an argument that he's erratic and poor at the back. That's silly in my opinion.

Ramos is better than Luiz was and ever will be, just because he doesn't score 30 yards free kick and long ranges doesn't mean he doesn't have as much potential.

Yea like such goals are easy to come by. In a year or two luiz will clearly be the best CB in the world even mou thinks extremely highly of him.

Someone I think said on a previous page that he isn't Baresi, and that's true. The problem is that there isn't exactly a Baresi out there who we could conceivably replace him with. If we go for someone like Mangala then we're buying potential, and if we stick with Luiz then we're doing so based on what Jose could do with him because he's by no means the finished article.

I keep changing my mind with what we should do. If Barca come in with £40 million then it's got to be considered because Luiz isn't worth that much right now, but he could be. My current opinion is that it's probably better to go with the devil you know. Who knows? Next season Chalobah or Kalas could be in the first-team thinking and we can sell Luiz then.

Well said. Roman does not sell players. He likes this guy & he is going nowhere.

The whole schlocky rumor & bid is about the dwarfs of Barca getting too cheeky.

Bottom line is that he is a leader and a character.

When we are down and he gets the ball, i know he will make that extra effort and produce that extra bit of quality, whether it be a great ball, and stunning shot, or a great dribble.

If he feels other players are a little down, he makes sure to get the passion running again, himself and through the team.

Its a quality that very few people have.

It's amazing how people don't understand this concept that Chelsea really don't need money.

We'll only sell if he wants to go. If not, he's priceless IMO.

Definitely, only if Mourinho wants him gone (which is clearly not the case).

I just want to mention something about these fucking clueless random football 'fans' commenting on Luiz-Barca articles: they are some of the stupidest people I have ever witnessed in my entire life. How they considered themselves knowledgeable, in any sense of the word, is nothing short of a miracle. Someone who has only seen one football match ever would not come up with some of the shit they say.

Gems like: "luiz to barcelona fabergas to united rooney to chelsea ,evrybody wins" which was actually responded with "Your comment has got a lot more 'dislikes' than 'likes' but it is probably spot on for what will happen!!"

Again: "Lets hope this happens..... If Chelsea allow Luiz to go, this would pave the way for Ronney to come to the club. As surely Barca would let Fabrigas go to Man United then in turn would allow Rooney to move on....."

"Pave the way", I love that. A defender being sold would 'pave the way' for a new striker. Or can Rooney play CB too?!?

Or: "Let the merry go round commence... Cesc to United, Luiz to replace him at Barca and with Cesc signed United can get rid of Rooney to Chelsea!"

Luiz is going to replace Fabregas in midfield accroding to this fellow, he'll eventually replace Xavi then I guess....

Then there's just plain ignorant/bitter ones: "David luiz is possibly the most over rated defender in the premier league. Granted when playing cdm he isnt bad but for Barcelona to be interested baffles me. Gets found out against all the top teams."

I like the way he doesn't even give an example...

Idiots. Especially those who believe in some sort of domino effect between a fucking defender, midfielder and striker; they're a special kind of stupid.

So this is for all those random football 'fans' (not say their ours specifically) commenting on stuff they obviously haven't got a fucking clue about:

Has potential 'captain' character in him.

I feel many people around the globe don't rate his as high down to the fact that they are influenced by the mainstream media in which they base their judgment. Plus Gary Neville's comments a couple years back which he later retracted yet many still deem Luiz as an 'average' defender when infact he has been our best defender last season and is a better footballer than any other centre back in the world.

Anything under 40mill, Forget it. Anything associating with Barca in regards to selling our potential players, IE, Mata, Courtois, Luiz, should not even be considered.

Well hate to break it to you but with FFP we aren't in a time where we go and spend £100m Roman's cash if we wanted anymore. He said defender, not CB isn't he? And if by mean defender then a lot are better than Luiz atm

stop eating Danish Blue ,,,,Stilton is better and gorgonZOLA is much better, please let us all know ALL those CBs better than David.

I want Luiz to stay, but if he wants to leave and Barca come in with a good offer (40+m) then I don't think we can say no. We're not Tottenham, we treat our players with respect.

That said, I don't think that Barca will pay that kind of money and I don't think he wants to leave either and even if he does, he is an integarl part of our team and I'm sure Jose can convince him to stay.

Why would Luiz want to leave? He has Brazilian connections at Chelsea, a fan favorite, future captain possibility, and a starting spot. Not to mention he has a comfortable living environment here in London, I can't see him leaving to join a Barca side imo that are currently crumbling within the squad and appointed a manager with zero experience in top flight football.

Sure the weather is a massive upgrade there and you have the chance to play along side Messi, Iniesta, and Xavi, but on a realistic view, our future at Chelsea looks much more promising than at Barca.

O. M. G.

I can't believe I read this. I'm speechless... and out of here.
