You want a top player, world class defender and don´t want to pay the fair price for him? Sorry mates, but isn´t Benfica´s fault.

David Luiz had been with the club since his 19´s, he´s commited to the club, and represents one rare of a kind professional football player. He didn´t force his departure, despite the fact that he´s assuming the brazilian shirt and has quality neverless, to become one of the best central defenders of the world.

You are short of defenders, had an opportunity to sign a young player, great pace and strenght, with an amazing ability with ball, tecnicist, and fail. Period.

I like Chelsea (I´m a portuguese Sport Lisboa e Benfica supporter and fan), but we are not on sales discount. If you want a great player, you have to pay for it.

We had, in last summer, a Manchester City bid for David Luiz (32 million euros) and didn´t sell him, what you´d expect? The player wanted a better side, then came you, proving today that your effort was unsuccefull.

Porto had sold Pepe (30 million), Bruno Alves (24 million), Ricardo Carvalho (you know him, right? ), all centre defenders, with exception of Pepe, more older than David.

David Luiz is very similar to Ricardo Carvalho, only better in strenght and speed.

All the best for you, Chelsea supporters, and sorry for my english, is far from perfect. Cheers!

deal is off.

off will be at the end of the month....

But looks like someone is "sitting in the cookie", like we say in me country... means that someone does not want to negotiate their position and are not willing to negotiate over their terms. I'm sure Benfica want the full money.

And do not blame the truth because they have no intension of selling it and the truth I have not read anywhere that David wants to leave

It can also be a tactic to force Benfica some negotiations in their favor ... Remember that the window is closing and Chelsea would be forced to accept some things if we want to have. If the deal does not happen now, in the summer can be tough sell, especially because we will not be the only ones who pretend now that everyone knows that Benfica can negotiate.

Disappointing, Peter Kenyon is a Chelsea legend.

'I know very well what my club is doing now but I don't want to speak about it,' Ancelotti added.

'The club is trying to do everything to improve the squad.'

At least Ancelotti knows what's happening, as opposed to what some members would like you to think.
