BIG-TWO Chelsea and Manchester United are hot on America's latest soccer whizkid Jozy Altidore.

The Premier League giants, along with Manchester City, are all checking striker Altidore, 18, who is wowing crowds watching New York Red Bulls.

In 18 months in the MSL, Altidore has grabbed 13 goals in 33 appearances for Red Bulls and hit 19 goals in 25 games for the you.S. Under-17s.

Jozy, whose parents are from Haiti, scored on his senior debut in a friendly against Mexico three months ago. Altidore is regarded as a better prospect than Freddy Adu, who had a trial with United before joining Benfica last season.

After yesterday intimating that Chelsea re tracking an eighteen year-old Brazilian left back, Thiago Carleto, we`re now being linked to another eighteen year old.

His name is Jozy Altidore and he`s currently playing in the MSL for New York Red Bulls.

So far the young striker has scored thirteen goals in thirty-three appearances and his exploits have caught our eyes and also interested Manchester City.

Altidor is of Haitian descent but plays for the USA at international level. For the US you-17`s he`s scored nineteen goals in twenty-five games and is being tipped to become a bigger star than the much acclaimed Freddy Adu.

We`ll endeavour to keep you informed of any developments on this one.
