well everyone say that they don't want him here and to be frank no one really means it and inside they really want him to join us ! not because of his success at barca but because all of us really want sth. new at chelsea! we can't carry on anymore with the temporary "mou" system! we need a real youth system , we need a complete restart in our future strategies , we need a new build up to this old-themed team and etc. and for me he's the one to do it! and let me explain when some of u say he had messi, he had iniesta, he had xavi let me ask u one thing?! how come the galacticos era in real madrid was never ever as successful as this barcelona?? they had everything, they had all the stars that every manager would've been overjoyed having, they had power, they had money , they had every little thing as u say a manager needs for success but what was the outcome?? david beckham only saw the la liga once and only another super cup in his 4 year stay!!! now tell me who brought up xavi into the game cuz before that i can't remember one of us seein him as a real asset for a team like barca!! now whether u agree with me or not, or u still hate guardiola cuz he won the UCL in 2009 instead of us or any other fuckin excuse let it be!! cuz whether he will be as successful as his era in barca or not i will always admire him as an all time great!!! IMO

AVB would be epic there lmao but they won't go for him, they'll probably go for another ex player like Luis Enrique. I'm not surprised he's going tho, he's done everything and he's made the club he loves, the best club in the world any they've dominated everything. I can't even ever see him coming back, he's done the lot. He can put his feet up now and just enjoy life.

He's taking a year out anyho...but with Chelsea no doubt by the time thats over we'll be on the look out for a new manager...

Yeah I think that will be the best for everyone.

Let Mourinho continue at Madrid, Pep to take a year of, and for us to continue with RDM.

RDM deserves at least a full season, despite if we loose both finals and miss on top 4.

I at least want to say we gave RDM the proper chance. If after one season we are not convince of his work, then bring on Guardiola.

But that might be too complicated for the board to understand.....

I think Marco Bielsa will be the next Barcelona manager, seeing that Pep is a big fan of his and so is Sanchez and Messi.

Well if Bielsa goes to Barcelona, sorry talkchelsea.net and all the anti Barcelona fans, but I will be rooting for Barcelona in the league as long as Bielsa is there like I did with Bilbao! blue%20scalf.gif

So has RAWK started a 'Guardiola to Liverpool' thread yet?

I just came to this thread to post the same thing!

They'll talk about winning the champions league next year even though they aren't in it if they signed him.

Cunts.

A coach who will go down in the history books as one of Barcelona's finest ever managers and the man who created and led, arguably, the greatest team in the history of the game.

So often you see people downplay his importance to what Barcelona have achieved during his tenure as manager. You hear ridiculous comments all the time like "I could manage Barcelona" in reality I don't think anybody else could have done the job Guardiola did. To take them from where they were, broken, divided and almost lost at the end of Rijkaard's reign, to the very heights of the world game, winning everything you can win.

Real football fans know all of the obvious things Guardiola brought to Barcelona. The intense pressing game (absolutely pivotal in their success), the higher emphasis on possession of the ball, the promotion of youth players to the first team squad (to great success), the most fluid systems football has ever seen, the decision to play Messi as a false number 9, the inspiration and confidence he gave to players like Xavi and Fabregas who idolize him. The man revolutionized football, changed the way the game is played at the highest level, when history is told his impact on the club will be seen as every bit as significant as Johan Cruyff's. Lionel Messi may be the greatest player ever but Pep Guardiola is the most important man at Barcelona.

So when you see comments like the ones above, with Chelsea fans saying they don't want him at our club, it's ridiculous. It would be an absolute honor to have him at the club, the same applies to any club he chooses to go to. Anyway it is a mute point, he has said he will take a break from football and has rejected the possibility of joining Chelsea in the Summer. That being said, were he to ever become the manager of Chelsea (unlikely) I would treat it as an honor, not as though we were signing some second rate car salesman to lead our team.

Good read, but the thing that worries me is that Pep might be an AVB part 2!

Same philosophy, but AVB did not had the players he had at Porto or Pep at Barcelona.

We don't want him for a reason. I can't see John Terry et al being delighted when the high line is re-explained to them. His ideology does not match our current crop of players, and he'll inevitably be AVB'd out of the club, with a huge payout. No thanks, he can stay in Spain or perhaps replace Sir Alex Ferguson.

LMAO knowing them, they would probably ask UEFA for special treatment because they have a CL winning coach and Dalglish LMAO. Fools.

He said it before that he is going to take a break from the game. And fair play to him. He looked so tired and stressed out the whole season. He said before that three years at Barcelona wears one out mentaly and physicly. I´d like to see him here but not with our key players we have at the moment. I´d rather see RDM for the next year, a full season, one big summersale (of which i am not completely convinced it will happen with RDM) and a few new transfers.

there's a bit of a difference coaching at club level and international level though. Will he be content competing for one trophy every 2 years and playing 12 games (non tournement) a year?

I'm pretty sure he would love coaching an International team for a couple of years. Guardiola has said numrous times the stress is incredible and attributes the stress to his balding.
