Recommended Posts

Today, Chelsea rezerves finale will host the Man United rezerves.

The Chelsea team will be: Blackman, Kane, Ake, Chalobah, Piazon, Baker, Lukaku, Bamford, Lalkovic and Feruz.

I hope to beat Man United.

The race this afternoon 2pm live in the Chelsea TV.

Hope we beat them :cfc:

Chelsea's fifth position in the Premier Reserve League South will not alter regardless of the result. Aston Villa topped our section and face a play-off for the overall championship which was won by Chelsea a year ago.

Was a massively dissapointing end to the season, poor performance, got much better once we switched to the youth cup midfield of Chalobah, Swift and Baker. I can't be too mad at the players though because this reserve set up is f***ing useless for the development of players. We are wasting our talent with this poor excuse of a competition. Our top appearance maker was Billy Clifford with 19, 19 appearances is no where near enough for a developing player, added to that the quality of these games and the lack of competitive nature just sucks the talent out of these players and i am frustrated at seeing it time and again. Florent Malouda has played more for the first team than our top reserve appearance maker has for the reserves. That is just wrong. 34 year old Didier Drogba has played more games!!!

Think thats Bamfords 35th goal of the season in all competitions today.

Man United Rezerves 4-1 Chelsea rezerves

Chelsea: Russell, Kane, Ince, Aké, Deen-Conten, C.Clifford, B.Clifford, Chalobah, Bamford, Lukaku, Phillip

Man Utd: Johnstone, Vermijl, De Laet, Fryers, M.Keane, Thorpe, Tunnicliffe, Cole, Lingard, Petrucci ©, W.Keane

GOAL, 1-0 Man Utd after 9 minutes, Ryan Tunnicliffe scores after good work by Jesse Lingard. Poorly defended by Chelsea.

Phillip drags an effort wide from the edge of the box. Almost 20 mins played, still 1-0 to

Lukaku a bit closer to the target but still doesn't work Johnstone. Fairly pedestrian stuff all over approaching the half hour mark.

Keane has a header cleared off the line by Deen-Conteh.

Chances for Thorpe and Will Keane for MUFC, who are dominant. Still 0-1.

GOAL, 2-0 United, Larnell Cole beats the offside trap (this time Lingard did get the assist) and scores with exceptional ease.

Oh for fuck sake Phillip! Great chance to play a pass to Lukaku there, but you decided to be stupidly greedy. Pass!

GOAL, 3-0 Man Utd, Will Keane intercepts Kane's header, beats Russell, and taps in.

Half Time: Chelsea 0-3 Man Utd. The visitors are firmly in control, the hosts look like they'd rather be anywhere else really.

Second Half:

Lucas Piazon has replaced Adam Phillip.

GOAL, 4-0 Man Utd, Richie de Laet, defender-cum-striker, intercepts a Conor Clifford pass, surges 40 yards and tucks home. Too easy.

Conor Clifford is off for John Swift now.

Not a good day for CFC, losing 0-4 to Manchester United.

This is John Swift's reserve team debut I believe.

Piazon has an effort cleared off the line, utterly ridiculous clearance, Piazon smashed the shot in. No idea how he blocked it.

Final Lewis Baker on for Billy Clifford. Youth Cup midfield now reunited.

De Laet cuts out a cross from Deen-Conteh destined for Lukaku before Johnstone saves well from Swift.

Will Keane hits the crossbar with a header from close range. Should score.

Chances for Man Utd to extend their lead but Petrucci shoots over and Russell saves well from Van Velzen.

GOAL, 1-4, Chelsea get themselves a consolation as Patrick Bamford rattles one into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Chances for Swift, Lukaku and Chalobah follow Bamford's goal but none of them find a way past Johnstone. Two minutes plus added time left.

Full Time: Chelsea 1-4 Manchester United. The Blues end their reserve campaign with a whimper, proving second best all over the pitch.

“The plan is to review the boys and plan for next season. They’ve got a tournament that we agreed to in Hong Kong, but the dynamics, you know, of the whole season…the boys moved out of the first team building, they’ve got to pick themselves up, they’ve got to understand that if you want to progress you’ve got to work hard and be prepared to take criticism. I think this year has been a massive learning curve for the reserve team group and where it sits at the club.”

Romelu Lukaku finishes as the reserve team's leading scorer this season with 7 goals. Milan Lalkovic scored 6, Bamford 5, Chalobah/Piazon 4.
