Justice For Trayvon Martin

I have been looking for the past couple of weeks, and since no one started a thread on this and i decided to...

There are a lot of reports out there, so i will just try my best to summarize this shortest way possible...

On the NBA all star weekend, a 17year old unarmed kid in a hoodie went to a nearby gas station to buy skittles and ice tea..On his way back, a neighborhood watchman Mr. Zimmerman, called the cops and said he was suspicious of Trayvon (this suspicion sterns from seeing a black kid in a hoodie), and he was clearly told by the 911 dispatcher not to follow Trayvon...Minutes later, gunshots were heard and the 17years old 140pound young man was shot at close range...

The NBA all star game was on the 26th of Feb, and up until now there has been no arrest made. Trayvon was 17 and 140pounds and unarmed, while Zimmerman is 28years old and 250pounds....Zimmerman's defense is resting on the Florida state "stand your ground law"; which basically states that you can make use of required force to protect yourself when you are threatened...Zimmerman said his head was repeatedly hit on the floor by Trayvon and he was scared of his life and that was why he shot an unarmed teenager...

I am not even gonna play the racism card here, even though its glaring for everyone and there momma to see...But is there any justification for 250pound guy to shoot and unarmed 140pound 17year old?...How scared for your life can an unarmed teenager make you, that justified pull that trigger?....

Where is the justice in "the land of free" or is justice for one race alone?...How long before an arrest is made?...Did we all have to come out and scream out to the world before an arrest will be made?....What if his parents had just let "the justice system" take its course, would they have ever had justice?....How many more die in silence for wearing a hoodie?....This shit hurts real bad ......

This can be compared to lynching. Horrific stuff, an innocent kid being shot for being black; while the killer can roam free and boast to his white nationalist friends about how he's helped save the "Aryan" race. Amazing that he hasn't been charged. Sometimes I wonder if black American's would have been better off going to Liberia following Emancipation after all.

And now we have Republican's and conservative white's that want an end to the media coverage. No doubt they think it is the "evil Jews who want to destroy the 'Aryan' race and have control over the media" work.

Fucking shocking, i've just watched 'training day', which is about a corrupt police officor. I don't know if this guy is from the police or what, but still

It goes to show a prime example of how fucked up the system is.

My dad was speaking to a taxi driver, not so long ago now, he said he had a heart attack recently, and he had to come back early because the pay wasn't good enough to support him while he's still taking time off to recover, so he had to come back and work early because of that, and it's no where near medically fit. Now this isn't the part where you get pissed off, now it is, then he told my dad about some alcoholic who is getting benefits by the government because of his alcohol problem, and when he worked out the amount he gets compared to what he gets the taxi driver, the alcoholic is getting more than the taxi driver... what the fuck is up with that?... now this is United Kingdom and it's a different case i know, but it still shows how fucked up it really is.

You get a lot of corrupt cops and such now days because of stupid rules and bad managing in the background. I think it's fair to say there is no such thing as justice, especially while this guy is still walking around free.

Zimmerman doesn't look awfully Aryan to me! Anyway I hate those Republican Bourgeoisie bastards.

I bet he was shot in the back to. This is why I'm anti-guns, guns have never done anything good for the world. The USA's gun laws are embarassing.

apparently he's hispanic. Agree with you on the gun laws i don't know how people can keep defending them after such horrific things keep happening like the recent Uni shooting.

The hoodie march was brilliantly conducted in light of this. Forced the govt to take action in the US, though it's a shame such marches only work sometimes, anyone who knows about Troy Davis will understand what I mean.

I heard about this killing- the middle classes are so paranoid of the masses that they now lock themselves in these gated communities across the states, and increasingly here- and this kid was apparently visiting relatives too, but he was undoubtedly murdered for his skin colour- but since the killer wasn’t arrested it puts me in mind of the US sargeant who massacred 16 people in Afghanistan- he’s not been charged either…

Not surprising theres no inquest allowed into the police shooting of Mark Duggan either - he's the bloke killed by the police that sparked the riots here last year

So he's basically playing the self-defence card? Against a much lighter unarmed teenager? Killing another person in self-defence is only acceptable if he is a threat to your life, at least here. I would be interested to hear how the police comment on this. I reckon he'll face the justice of people anyway.

Prohibiting guns (at least in America) will just allow another stream of income for organized crime. I can't imagine the average redneck/trailer trash/ghetto kid being too happy to give up what they legitimately need as protection. Well not the rednecks so much.

Like said the problem lies with the 'stand your ground' law out here..and using that as a defence can easily get away with it

The whole case is messed up.The fact that the dad only found out that he was dead after filing a missing persons and police putting two and two together and isnt there reports that a witnesses statement was changed? And Zimmerman chased him because he was running away,and then in the phone call obviously it seemed Martin felt under threat due to being followed hence the running

Hopfully they'll see right in the end but wouldnt surprise me if he's made out to be the victim more then the one who lost his life
