Lets do a Liverpool!Get lots of money together and buy out Roman..could take a while lol but hey.

I dont see how having 100m is gana help in the market.Players arent gana wana play for a manager still training for his sodding badges!A club with so much unrest from the players due to the manager.Getting the likes of Kaka...hahaha dream land.Jose had that attrataction power...Grant is just a frog

And now he's being 'controversial' with the media. Isn't that the main reason Mourinho was bombed out ? Hopefully his days are numbered.

I bet he doesnt get a managerial job when he leaves. The dour faced toad would have to go to Man Utd or Barca to sit there and get adequate results.

Anywhere else and he'll be found out for what he is immediately.

Well Mourinho supposedly went because our football was not exciting enough.

We all now know that was a crock of made up sh*t by the board because Grant's football is as dire as it gets and apparently Roman still supports the guy.

When he leaves Chelsea, I doubt there will be a raft of big name clubs after his signature because they all know that he's not up to the job and just getting results with someone else's team and a support structure that is second to none. Has Grant actually had to do anything pro active yet on his own at the club?

And you're right, if Grant went to a club which did not have the support staff and sheer quality and squad depth that Chelsea has he would have been found out for the very average manager he is within the month.

Pardon me Pluto. But Mourinho was sacked cus of his incessant rants. HE went a lil too over board last season. His comments about Ronaldo's upbringing, his rants against Referees, FA, his rants against his own paymaster, were only making the people, the FA, the refereees hate Chelsea more and more. When you wash your dirty linen in public against your own paymaster, there is only one winner. Plus his rants made fans around the world hate the club more and more. He brought his own downfall. He was a great source of income and news to the media. They dint care what he said, but in the end it affected the image of the club. Add to that our dour football, which has only got worse now.

He had absolutely no business to rant against Roman last season. Roman for two seasons has been handing blank cheques to him. Not all managers around the world had that priviledge. But when Roman for the first time ever decides to not give him money in Jan transfer, he goes public. It only affected our image.

I sooo , wished he had shut his mouth. He would still have been our manager, and probably we would have been EPL Champions today.:(

Grim for Grant as Blues manager loses the plot after lack of backing from Chelsea hierarchy

By MATT LAWTON - More by this author » Last updated at 15:07pm on 19th April 2008 commentIconSm.gif Comments

Avram Grant fears he has lost the backing of his employers and can do nothing to save his job as Chelsea manager. Grant gave a bizarre press conference in the wake of Thursday night's 1-0 win at Everton, providing nonsensical, monosyllabic answers that eventually forced the Chelsea press officer to end the exchange saying it was "going nowhere".

The Israeli has lost patience with certain sections of the media and he could deliver an even more obtuse performance at Anfield on Monday prior to the first leg of Chelsea's Champions League semi-final against Liverpool the following night.

But Grant's frustration is also being fuelled by Chelsea's failure to offer him the protection and support his record this season deserves.

Chelsea reject the accusation, insisting that Grant knows he has the backing of owner Roman Abramovich and chief executive Peter Kenyon.

But Bruce Buck, the Chelsea chairman, refused to give his full support to his manager earlier this month and when Grant took his own steps to improve his public image — by turning to former newspaper editor Phil Hall for guidance — the move was not warmly received by club officials.

Now Grant wonders if he has to win either the Champions League or the Barclays Premier League to survive.

Even then it may not be enough because the players, Grant suspects, are getting more credit than he is.

According to sources yesterday, the best Grant can now hope for is a return to his former role as director of football after what could be a total clear-out of the coaching staff.

Steve Clarke's future already appears to be elsewhere and Henk Ten Cate may not remain at the club unless Frank Rijkaard is appointed as manager.

Grant has been angered by Chelsea's very obvious reluctance to kill speculation — not least when questions were put to Buck 10 days ago.

Asked whether Grant would still be Chelsea manager next season, Buck said: "I think it is a 'yes or no' question and I'm not going to give you a 'yes or no' answer.

"We thought that when you change managers, you have to have some re-building. So we are unbelievably happy that we are here, where we are now.

"Having said that, and don't take this the wrong way, every manager at every club is judged by results."

Given Grant's record since succeeding Jose Mourinho last September, he feels he deserves more recognition not only from the media but from the club.

Grant has at least been boosted by the news that Michael Ballack is expected to recover from a hamstring strain in time to face Liverpool.

Didier Drogba may also be fit, having had fluid drained off his left knee. Frank Lampard remains a doubt, however. He has not trained since dashing away before Chelsea's Monday draw against Wigan to be at the bedside of his mother Pat who is seriously ill in hospital, suffering from pneumonia.

Should Lampard be out, Chelsea face being short of numbers in midfield with Michael Essien suspended.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are understood to be pressing on with summer recruitment despite Grant's uncertain status. Napoli's goalscoring Slovakia international midfielder Marek Hamsik, 20, and youth team winger Umberto Varriale, 17, have been scouted.

It's interesting that Marek Hamsik has been brought to attention, because I have bought him in FM and PES2008 long time ago already :P

Anyways, It's refreshing to see that Bruce Buck gave such an answer. No yes, no no. That's practically a No, I'm quite sure. Grant couln't handle the pressure not even for one season (he didn't take over from the first game). He's obviously broken down.

Grump: "It was a good win. We were behind Manchester United from the beginning of the season so it never was in our hands. It is in our hands to do our job and that is what we did."

What a fuck up he is. Like it's been stated, 4 last minute draws (that means 4 fuck ups) cost us the title. So it was in our hands, and you blew it. And at the start of the season ManU were behind us, dillweed.

Now read this about the Wigan game: "Even towards the end we were attacking with six or seven players and they scored the equaliser on the counter-attack, but I like it because we want to change the style of the team."

YOU PISS ME OFF CUNT. You like attacking with your whole fuckin team in the last minute while being barely 1-0 up. YOU LIKE CONCEDING ? You like fuckin losing the title because you like rolling the ball with 7 players with no effectiveness ? FUUUUUUUUUCK YOOOUUUUU !

I think you'll find that Pluto was saying he didn't believe that Mourinho was sacked for playing poor football ad that it was an excuse from Chelsea....

Correct.

Lets face it though, none of us (including Warnie) know why Mourinho left and unless Roman or Jose choose to tell us that is the way it's going to stay.

I think it's all combined. Unattractive football, somewhat bad results, problems with media, problems with FA, clash of egos and stuff... Shortly - whatever the reason(s), they were not enough to replace him with Grunt the Cunt.

I agree, probably a number of things but nothing Mourinho did wrong justified Grant's appointment - and I don't care if he wins silverware this season or not.

Finally, Grant addressed the regular question of his own future, and of his discourse with Roman Abramovich.

He said: 'It is a private matter, we are in good contact, and I have a feeling you know he is very happy.

'My daughter is 12-years-old, she asks me why the media always asks me these questions. I say "they love me, they are concerned about me, if I am not here they have a problem." The relationship is good and everything will be okay. Do I look worried? No.'

I personally look worried after those comments

If he wins one of the two he will have to be given another season.

Will he? Fuck I dearly hope not. Couldnt stand another year of seeing his dribbling, salmon like features on the box for another year.

I reckon Sunthorpe may take a chance on him next season :smiliecap1:
