the wes 7,212
Manager Avram Grant wants Chelsea to appoint a director of football - the role he filled at Stamford Bridge before succeeding Jose Mourinho. Grant left Portsmouth to become Chelsea's director of football in July before taking over as manager two months later. But Grant has no fears about a new man coming in. "It would be easier for me," he said in The People. "There are many things for a coach to do. The director can help him a lot. I know that from my time in that position at Portsmouth." James 5,343
Easier for him? He doesnt seem to be doing alot anyway, everytime i look its Steve Clarke and Henk ten Carte doing the work.
pluto 0
Considering Grant did nothing at Portsmouth as DOF and little at Chelsea other than await Jose's departure and considering he apparently does little coaching or training now what the hell do we need another body in the management team for? Isn't failing with about half a dozen of them enough anymore?
Ryan C™ 0
LOL! Avram Grant is a joke. Jose Mourinho should never have been sacked, as I said immediately when he was. This guy is totally useless and shouldn’t be there. The guy's face is also diabolical...
Fulham Broadway 17,362
The more faces he has around I suppose he thinks the more chance of success, and he can sack one or two and blame them when things go wrong.
BlueLion. 21,491
He can have the position back.
Fulham Broadway 17,362
He can fuck off back to Pompey and put the cones out. -better still give him the M25 to do. In the dark. With no fluorescent jacket

Can't agree about Ten Cate. Everytime I see him, he is sitting down and grinning and not even standing up like Grant does. Even when we're losing. misschief 24
Can't agree about Ten Cate. Everytime I see him, he is sitting down and grinning and not even standing up like Grant does. Even when we're losing. I had high hopes when we brought in Ten Cate, cant see any improvement with him around though. We've gradually got worse as the season's gone on as far as I can see. the wes 7,212
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich won't bomb Avram Grant out of the club should he decide he is not the man for the manager's job at the end of this season. The Independent says if he is replaced as manager, he will be offered the opportunity to return to the role he first took at Chelsea - as the director of football. http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=80656 Edited February 27, 2008 by the wes
PaulHopkins 1
If we win nothing this season I can see Grant moving back upstairs as well.

PaulHopkins 1
I can see him going back to Portsmouth. I can't see Portsmouth wanting him back as Harry was never complimentary about him.
Gianfranco_Z 202
I can see him being reinstated as DOF if he doesnt cut it as our manager which i doubt, only because of his and Abramovich's friendship.
Elliott 7
If Avram continues to fuck up though perhaps they won't be bestest pals for much longer.
