BLionheart 516
180 crucial minutes of football will decide a lot of things about the future of this football club , 2 football games will take place between us and the very worrying Napoli .A lot is said about AVB and his future in this club , and if he is to part ways with chelsea then those 2 games will probably play a big part in his departure. We are fighting a desprate battle for the 4th place in the league , but as great as winning this counter against Napoli will be but it will kinda distract us from the league , and it's not like we have more than 5% chance to win the champions league , so losing this counter will be a blessing in disguise , right ?! well , who knows !In fact we might have many positives from such a loss like more attention to our league battle , adding more prove to abrahimovic that we need some new players and to be more accurate a new squad with some old players , if AVB is not sacked after such a loss it will be a confirmation from Roman that AVB will be here next year and that way the players will have to make peace with that and try to be part of his project. But screw all that , i want to win this game ... i know we have a very small chance of winning the UCL but this might be a huge needed morale boast to the team and who knows we might face zenit or Benfica in the next round and bang!! we are in semi-finals . i know it might be a bit of a distraction but i think being in form but distarcted and may be sometimes exshauted is more important than being shit without any distractions . the only thing that worries me is luck playing a big role and us hitting some kind of form or reaching the UCL final and some players doesn't get the boot they deserve by the end of the season and AVB thinking evolution not revolution again !!there is a lot of advantages and disadvantages to both winning and losing , Your thoughts ?? A start has to be getting past Napoli.A bonus could be Real v Barca drawn in the next....
CHOULO19 24,332
I think the boost of beating a team like Napoli and getting to the CL quarter finals is much more beneficial to the team than playing a couple of matches less. That being said, in the last couple of years, we have turned our season around only after being knocked out of the CL. ( in the double season we were behind manu when we got knocked out and last year we were in fifth )
Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
DAMN!! another topic??!! anyway, not expecting a lot in leauge only cups is all i care about. but UCL is something we can win if we are lcky enough to avoid tough teams till maybe the semis. Idk if it would be given much attention but i'll state it anyway:every time CFC has finished the preseason undefeated they have gone on to win at least 1 trophy during the campaig. nice little fact i read somewere today. BlueLion. 21,491
If we beat Napoli suddenly things will get rosy again. It only takes a handful of decent performances and turning a corner becomes a quite easy proposition. However, with the squad we have, finding the inspiration is a tough job. When you think about it, we've had to turn a corner for each 'bad moment' we've have over the past two seasons, and we've done it successfully. I still back the squad, for now, but they certainly need to revise their attitudes and respect the club, the fans and the boss.
CHOULO19 24,332
^^I'm hoping the return of Ramires and DD is inspirational enough for the squad to take us to the quarter finals.

Shane 2,275
Times like this you just have to say bring it fucking on. Hope we get stuck into these cunts from the first whistle to the last. Cavani, Lavezzi and Hamsik can suck my left one.
Idiot 71
If dropping out of the CL (and the FA-Cup) wouldn't mean that we need a new manager i'd bring in our younger players. If they reach the next round it's great if not they can concentrate on the 4th spot
termninja 5,290
the only thing that worries me is luck playing a big role and us hitting some kind of form or reaching the UCL final and some players doesn't get the boot they deserve by the end of the season and AVB thinking evolution not revolution again !!I wouldn't worry about that. Even the birds know that Malouda, Drogba, Kalou and Bosingwa are next to leave. Us reaching the CL final would be a good way of them saying goodbye. As for winning the match....FUCK YEAH LET'S KICK SOME ITALIAN ASS! More money, more confidence and who knows how far we can go...#lastenglishteaminCL

gary gordon 1,777
With Man United, City, Arsenal all gone we have a better chance then ever.. AC are good but beatable, Barca are Barca and Madrid will be tough. Bayern will be the dark horses in my opinion..

AC are good but beatable, Barca are Barca and Madrid will be tough. Bayern will be the dark horses in my opinion..I don't think we stand a chance to be honest, we aren't going to get lucky in draws, we are an english club, UEFA hate english, you watch if we somehow make it through we will either get Barca or Madrid, it's bound to happen, if we came 2nd we would of got Madrid and we almost did but we came first and got Napoli, quite unfair to be honest, coincidence that the english clubs get the hardest clubs you can get if you go first...Can see Napoli kicking our arses, and i agree with you about Bayern, but i can still see this Champions League being Barcelonas. capriccioso 2,545
UEFA don't hate the English, imo they just hate upstart clubs like us that upset the status quo. We come barging in with no history and threaten to be the greatest force in football, UEFA don't want to see the big Italian 3, Spanish and English duo's as well as Bayern Munich lose their power. So they keep coming up with shit to keep clubs like us, Man City, Anzhi etc. down. FFP is something that supports my opinion, there will be absolutely no chance of clubs like AFC Wimbledon becoming the champion of Europe.I have to agree though, these next couple of weeks will be vital in shaping our future, not just our season. But we always seem to struggle against English competition. Now with all of them gone, we have a chance to do some damage.. I agree though, Barca are the favourites.... nadavTKL 1,787
Good, but i'd rather have Drogba there than Torres.Torres---Sturridge--------Mata----------Essien---Ramires--------Romeu-------GIVE IT A GO?Thats exactly what i was going to write, but like Sloth said- Drogba instead of Torres. Definitely. We are playing 4-3-3, but we dont have any real wingers.. our wingers are better in more central positions. 'Diamond' formation would be a nice try by AVB.
