He is just like a guy that has been dumped by his girl! :D

yet i was and still am one of his biggest fans! go back and check all the praise i have given him through the years, i dont just say he will flop for no reason, i back up what i say, i think its a bad move for him, you on the other hand, cant back up what you say. :clown:

I don't think he'll flop, he's too good for that. But he's not ready for the highest level yet imo. He proved that being nearly invisible in the WC while he carried Belgium in the the qualifying. The same with Wolfsburg... they were visibly the second strength in Germany and haven't faced much trouble to be in that position, so he shone in the league. When time came for the team to show their true colors in the Europa League, they were dismissed by a third tier Spanish side... Of course, I'm not blaming de Bruyne for Belgium shy WC campaign (regardless of how far they went, they were a letdown for me personally and except in one match they played a boring, uninspiring and bad football throughout the tournament) or Wolfsburg disappointing EL performance, it's just it was the biggest stages he had the chance to shine and he was very invisible on both imo. I think he's very young and can make it in the big stage later in his career. I just feel he's not there yet. He may prove me wrong and be it already this season, but given City's usual lack of confidence and competence playing UCL knockouts (when they actually make it that far) and seemingly being one level above their rivals in England, Kev might shine in the league as they may face little competition from other teams, but I don't think he'll bring them to the next level on UCL knockouts..

Think he could easily fill the Fabregas role in the team tbh.

Offensively, yea. Thru balls and corners and long balls.

However, KDB is weaker than Cesc and I could imagine him and Jose going at each other for "demanding workrate/defense" in his role...

Let's be honest, he's not going to strengthen city that much more. They had a stronger squad than us before KDB, so it's not going to make much of a difference unless we step our game up twice as hard as we have been. I just hope we strengthen smartly in Jan and/or next summer, because this season is ALMOST certainly city's with the squad they have at current. I hope we make a fight of it, of course, but it will be tough if we continue in poor form.

On the contrary I think he is a big improvement over Nasri. That is the role he will take over.

Navas you mean. Nasri lost his place before KDB came in.

he will take Navas place, they had perfect balance with Sterling - Silva - Navas, they will now lose that balance, they will also lose their new weapon this season the counter attack, as they also lose pace with KdB.

De Bruyne's crosses will also not suit the small Sergio Aguero who isnt going to win many headers, I can really see them realising De Bruyne makes them more predictable and easier to park the bus against as they wont have Navas to stretch teams, so they will move Kevin in the number 10 role and stick Silva on the right which also wont solve there unbalanced attack.

As i said before i think the De bruyne signing is going to be a huge factor in us retaining the PL.

City have Silva, KDB, Sterling, Nasri, Navas and Toure as their attacking midfielders. Quite ridiculous really.

We had something similar when Mourinho came but we sold because he didn't rotate and to have a positive net spend.....

Too much wishful thinking bro. You stated before our game with City that you were not worried about the game as "they are nothing special" and "overrated" and they ended up beating us 3-0. Yeah, they had good balance but the question will remain can Navas perform consistently for the whole season which City fans and probably Pellegrini is unsure about. While they will lose the pace on the counter they will have the excellent creativity of KDB and Silva which Navas cannot provide and while KDB is not as fast as Navas he is not a slouch and has a fair amount of pace.

What you have to rmember is KDB is a good passer as well. They now have two players capable of providing Aguero with excellent through balls. Something Navas cannot do. The interchanging of KDB, Silva and Sterling is going to make them a big threat. You have gave your reasons as to why you think it will not work which is fair enough but like I was saying I think it is too much wishful thinking without realising the huge benefits it will bring to their team.

I have not even mentioned the goal threat. As well as KDB creativity, he scores goals which is something Navas struggles to do. Another key dimension KDB has to his game.

i was being sarcastic before the City game btw.

and balance is everything, you under-estimate how important it is, De Bruyne is a bad fit for City, i gaurantee they try to sign a real right winger in the next few years when they realise De bruyne is not the answer, Pedro would have been so perfect for them, if they signed Pedro then i would be very worried, but De Bruyne on the other hand will not take them forward, same with Sterling who i dont rate at all!

People forget how average Man City were last season, their signings are simply not good enough to take them to the next level, right now they are high on confidence, once they get bought back to reality, then you will see the real Man City, right now what we have seen so far is not the real Man City, just like in previous seasons where we have looked incredible early on only to implode, and not even challenge till the final day. Man City fans will experience this, this season.

Only on this forum is playing Navas on the right a better option than KDB. The latter is alot better than the former in pretty much everything.

He and Silva will rotate between one another fluidly considering both are effective in either position.

I don't get this notion they'll lose alot of pace either. De Bruyne is deceptively quick & is elite in transition. He absolutely burns teams in open space.

of course De Bruyne is better then Navas, but the doesnt mean De Bruyne replacing Navas will improve Man City, its not as simple as that.

some will say Mata is better then Oscar, but why do you think Oscar started ahead of Mata? Balance.

why do you think Di Maria didnt start in LVG's 3-5-2 last season? Balance

Gotze is better the Douglas Costa, why do you think Costa starts ahead of Gotze? Balance

The list goes on.

People need to realise this is real life and not Fifa.
