Frank Lampard

Yes he created it. He hates us. Loathes us. He's at the end of the day a judas scum along with every legend that has played for us. I agree. He's not a victim for joining a team that recognized him with a proper contract.

Part of Frank Lampard's 'brand' and why he's the figure he is, is because he's marketed himself as 'proper chels' like John Terry. The same reason Gerrard's face is all over the Liverpool pencil cases and bed spreads. This guy is a fraud, not just a judas.. he hasn't handled himself with class or shown respect to the fans since leaving. He told people he would never join another PL club, he stressed how difficult it would be. Whatever beef he has with the current board is not as far as Chelsea stretches, he should have thought about his legacy and the fans.

True, agreed. No class.

I would think that he chose City because he wants to stay close to his family since he is a human being with a life beyond football.

I don't like him coming to city but the reactions here are over the top, people take football way too seriously sometimes.

He doesn't live with his family, do you think Frank's ex is bringing herself and the kids to New York?

The point is, and I'm not sure why you're taking us go around in circles here, is that ALL of this was 'his' choice, it wasn't a catch 22. What the fuck did Frank think was going to happen when he signed for a City owned club that doesn't exist yet.

Now the poor guy has no family...

Yes he has turned his back on his family.

The ego maniacs at City will have to suffice, lol

Soon he will be screaming he didn't get a Bugatti for his birthday.

I genuinely couldnt be more dissapointed. Yes players come and go but 12 years thanks very much, i'm off to the rivals??? Frankie Frankie

Do not give me the 'aspirations' crap. He is moving to the MSL. He is basically semi-retired already.

To play in New York, the world's largest sports and media market.

Not Seattle, New York.

Not Toronto, New York.

Not Kansas City (anymore Toto), New York.

Anyway, it seems contradictory for those backing Lampard's decision to have the rationale 'he won't play many games' and 'he aspires to be at the top level' while also knowing where he'll be 6 months from now. You saying 'he wants to push himself at the highest level' implies he's actually signed for City and will be playing week in, week out when it couldn't be further from the truth. He is being used, simple as that. Oh wait, I'm sure training with Manchester City makes him sharper or some shit. Yeah, you're right, I'm sure he always 'aspired' to train there to simply fill their HG quota...

I personally believe that he'll play a fair few games which keeps him in Hodgson's mind going forward especially with Gerrard and Cole having retired.

Either way, his legacy is undamaged. He's a legend at Stamford Bridge and that won't change because a few people get their knickers in a twist in 140 characters or less.

Because he can't hire a personal trainer or stay fit by himself?

You do realise he could have been just as easily loaned to Melbourne City?

No offence but Melbourne City isn't the same as the Premier League Champions or Champions League football.

As for hiring a personal trainer, it's not the same as the competitive environment of a club. Again, these are arguments that are being brought up which are simply not realistic and require a slight willing ignorance to entertain.

His family life is clearly important to him and there's a great deal of difference between six months in England as opposed to six months in Australia.

Now I'm sure some kiddywinks will raise the point that he is now working in New York, but plenty of grown men do that. It's not a tricky commute to make.

Neither is the MLS...
