Frank Lampard

Chelsea is bigger than the board, or current circumstances.

And a comparison like that is ridiculous, it's like Setve Jobs going to Microsoft, Lampard is a huge part of the clubs identity. Lampard & Terry are the last of their kind, we won't have legends like that at the club again, it's the end of a bygone era.

It's not like Steve Jobs going to Microsoft. He was a founder of the company and the CEO. Lampard was an employee. Yes, he is the best player we've ever had, but WE, not him, decided to let him go. You don't have the right either legally or morally to expect loyalty when you don't give that same loyalty. Lampard was given the chance to play for the Premier League champions. What should he do? Say "no" because some Chelsea fans don't want him to go there?

The thing is he wasn't forced to from what I can tell, he signed up with NYCFC and that's where the contract lies, not with Manchester City. They might own the clubs but he signed with another party. For example a mate of mine works for Waitrose, now Waitrose and John Lewis is the same company he can't just go and work at John Lewis, he's an waitrose employee and he's contract is with them.

You're just searching for excuses to prepare yourself for the blasphemous sight of Lampard appearing in an enemy's shirt.

Jobs was the face of apple, JT & Lamps are the face of Chelsea (which is essentially what I was getting at).

These are not mere employees though are they, and the current board are not Chelsea. He should have thought of the fans because it's bigger than that. Lamps should have been intelligent enough not to sign for the City family in the first place; why end your career on a sour note.

He should have respect for the fans and his legacy, it comes with responsibility. He's lost part of his identity now, not proper chels like JT.

Jobs was forced out of Apple and started up his own company. This is a weird comparison.

I guarantee your thinking is very much in the minority. This guy is a Chelsea legend, he was the captain on our greatest night and he's given so much to this club.

I simply don't understand your comments on this. I think you need to take some time and just refresh your memory about Lamps.

"Man City are bringing in Lampard so they can comply with PL/CL HG quota, how disrespectful to one of the best players this country has seen."

Great move from City tbh though, humiliating for both Chelsea and Lampard. Our legends can be bought, it's almost as if Chelsea is such a nothing club that our ambassadors are more than happy to end their careers leaving a bad taste in the mouth.

It's not a full comparison, just the image/being synonymous like JT association.

I completely disagree with that statement. Ofcourse " He's proper Chelsea ", how the hell can he not be after all that he has contributed to the club. The club weren't going to offer him a new contract so he signed for New York, and as he's not required until December he's keeping his eye in with another team.

People hardly remember his Swansea loan. They won't remember this either

WTF, lmao. COMPLETELY different scenarios. He wasn't a Chelsea legend or symbol of the club then, just a kid who needed game time. He's Frank Lampard now, someone who's identity is intertwined with Chelsea, and the fans feel strongly about.
