Away from the game for too long now and the combination of new league, language barrier, and us being in crisis is too much. Plus, he's not the manager to bring in for exciting, free flowing football. Allegri has only been away for around 18 months, not too dissimilar from Pochettino and people wanted Pochettino. It's not like football has drastically changed either. Plus, he has been learning English ever since he left Juventus and there have been reports saying that he wants his next job to be in the Premier League. I wouldn't mind Allegri, if only because he is a tactically flexible manager. Otherwise, I have my doubts about his playing style and it suiting this team. But hey, surely he'll make us play something more attractive than spamming crosses into the box, right?

By the way, Allegri had a mastermind like Pirlo in his team and he had one of the most underrated players I have seen in Marchisio. If you were not satisfied with Juventus football that Allegri played, I highly doubt our football with three defensive midfielders will get any better. Looking back at this, this comment (not that Lampard is challenging the club) brings back memory of when Mourinho told the club that they cannot sack him because he's the best manager after losing to Southampton (IIRC) in 2015/16, only to then get sacked weeks later. It's almost as if Lampard is telling the club "I can turn this around because I've experienced this before as a player".

Clinging onto hope more like...looks like he already has his eyes on the FA cup and Fulham fixtures to try and get a rebound in form before facing off against Leicester. Defeat to Leicester will seal it IMO,..unless he suffers another upset before that game (very possible).
Azul 1,615
I'm expecting to see " Sad news, but we will be parting ways with Super Frank" on Chelsea's front page tomorrow morning. If I don't see that then they're clueless as well. We have a FA Cup week coming up which means there's a week break between now and the next Premier League game. If we get a new manager now, then he actually has enough time with the players to get started. I don't want us to be stupid and get a manager in when there's two PL games in a single week. Well, based on what we've seen during the past several years at Chelsea its unlikely you will see that. Only this week have we even seen press stating that his position is under threat. Regardless, I still think they are close to that point. Loss to Leicester will be the tipping point IMO, unless there is an upset against Fulham before that. Blue Armour 4,731
Also, would be interesting to see if the club engages in any transfer activity during this window. That will be a really telling sign.
Popular Post! Jase 43,479 Posted January 3, 2021 Popular Post! Share Posted January 3, 2021 This. We were atrocious against Arsenal after a free week, decent against Villa after just 1 day of rest and then back to being atrocious against Man City after another free week. And that's just an example from this past week alone. There's more if we look back over the course of Lampard's regime. Supermonkey92 1,428
I dont want Allegri. Frank has built a good squad and did great with integrating youth like James, Mount, Tammy, CHO, tomori, Gilmour etc. Not all of those will make the squad but will fetch a pretty penny. Pick a manager that will suit the squad. I want the Werner's last coach Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
Pizy 19,286
One little thing Frank mentioned in his post match interview is something that's 100% true and nobody is really mentioning it in the media. He quickly explained how comfortable all of City's players are at recieveing the ball in tight areas and dealing with the press. It's something you really notice immedietly when watching the likes of City and Liverpool compared to us. It even really stood out in both legs against Sevilla this year. Just about every player on those sides are excellent technically and have great first touch. There's a smooth, crisp look to their passing. Meanwhile, we have FAR too many players in our team who are just poor technically. Kante, Zouma, Tammy, Werner, Azpi. And then we have others who do have qualities technically but have next to ZERO offensive output like Kova, Jorginho, Mount. All of these problems are made worse when we have a novice manager who is clearly not able to fix these issues in training. We need a manager who is maniacal at working on intricate technical training. You can tell the likes of Pep and Klopp have worked endlessly with their players to get them so calm and smooth in their play. Just listen to what his former players say about his training. He even shows them which side of the foot to use for which pass. Henrique 9,133
Guys, Lampard wont be sacked. Lampard was hired as part of Roman's strategy to look more "british friendly" after his UK vista woes. Its not a coincidence that out of nowhere we started throwing young english players into the first team, even before the transfer ban. Just take a look at how press is covering Chelsea. Since Lampard was hired the press is full of positive bias towards Chelsea, completely opposite from what we were used since Roman bough the club 17 years ago. Nobody is talking about crisis, or Lampard being under pressure. Lampard job is as safe as safe can be. kellzfresh, killer1257 and The Skipper
