tmessy 139
i was thinking we dont need another playmaker... we could use a ST and sit torres right behind him or vice versa... like the Hernandez/ Shrek way-------back 4-------------Romeo (Essien)-Mata--Lamps--Danny-------Torres--------------------New ST--- switch torres and the new ST around, idk, i think it could work...we just need an explosive force and a SOLID starting XI, none of this "oh i wonder who is going to start", bs... Kieran. 6,317
Don't think he'd succeed as a CAM, but possibly as a SS. Won't happen though.
Slam Dunk 1,442
He's never going to hit form if we keep moving him into new positions (trequartista, winger) and force him to adapt.I agree with you on the point that we need a set starting lineup, we then might begin to see some fluidity to our play. Won't happen though.well if we sit torres right behind somone, in a striker role though, it could provide fantastic link-up play, because torres does a great job of holding up the ball, and if there was someone in front of him to kick out then roll toward the net, it could be great... Kojo 4,676
He may of been doing pretty well at it now, but i doubt he will be consistent at it, especially in big games, Torres is a striker and a goalscoring one, and i think that's the way he must stay because that's what he's best at. Peace. 4,352
LOL !If we want an attacking midfielder, we just need to buy one. No point in turning a (big) flop striker into an AM.

manpe 10,861
He had 2 striker's assists today... one was a failed header and the other was the obvious pass in counter-attack.. that won't make him a CAM just yet.

coolhead23 1,147
The problem is that Torres is trying too hard to get a start in the team. Hence he is trying to be a Tevez like player so that he can show the manager his hard work but in turn his actual game is going for a toss. Torres is a striker with clinical finisher and a dangerous one, he is 27 and a little too late to have a new skill in his arsenal. All he need is confidence and the motivation from his gaffer and that lad can do wonder. Lets not hope that he turns into a AM.

TacticalBlues 2,817
This is our problem. If he has those assets why make him a "normal"attacking midfielder? When he gets on form, the ability to beat the player, is what makes him world-class. If we do this why not go ahead and make Luiz a DM or Drogba a defender. It just takes away what makes them so special into something good, but not unique or special. I may be hyperbolic but come on let's go and find a natural AM like Lucas M.
