So now the Cavani deal is done there is only a few things left to say...."Now prove it"

That price tag is massive, huge in fact, lets see how good this lad is in what they call a so called second rate league.

Well he can't do worse then Torres that's for sure.

The Torres situation has been and gone, everyone know he's been shite, but now we have another astronomical transfer here with Cavani.

Will he bottle it? Who knows, hope he doesn't but by god is there massive pressure on him.

Cavani, free of injury and in form.

Torres when bought, out of an injury and out of form.

Not to mention that Torres needs a whole system to play him......

So don't see Cavani flopping like Torres.

Let's face it, you could stick a spider up front and it would do better than Torres, so there isn't a comparison really.

Look at Torres's first season, people where begging him to score and celebrating it like we had won the league, and whilst there is nout wrong with that it just showed how desperate we where for him to score, it was that bad.

It just stroke my mind, that this is the real last season of the old guard. In 2012 only Drogba departed, but now Cole, Terry, Lamps, Essien and with Courtois coming back next year also Cech face exit or loss of importance.

Means we have to sign some 1 or 2 experienced players to mitigate the transition. Hazard, Oscar, mata will probably be beast in a year, but I doubt KDB; MvG, Schürrle, Chalobah and Mceachran will ALL be ready. There still have to be some experienced guys they can learn from and who know the pressure. Ok, we wills till have Luiz, Mikel, Iva, but I doubt that will suffice. We might not be that far off with those de Rossi, Rooney rumours. They would provide the experience in the 2 departments we will be lacking it.

@The Skipper, It is the best solution, but maybe and I say maybe to still have a Frank Lampard & John Terry on the same wages will affect the future tranfers of the club, if for an example we let Lampard go at the end of the season, or JT or Ess, it would be easier to have a De Rossi in the financial terms.

Oh I agree. Maybe they can reduce their wages. I'm sure they understand the direction the club is going.

Cole and Cech are likely to stay for a season or two, they still have something to offer IMO, hope both of them end their career here, where they belong. But beside that I think you're right.
