No, it because Van Gaal warned Timber he could lose place in Netherlands world cup squad if he doesn't play regularly.

They have Varane and Maguire, who can predict.. United are a mess now, no one can predict how they will line up and how the team will perform. World cup starts in five month, I can see some young players will not risk a move to top clubs. Timber is a wanted man and very young, he is not missing out on anything if he stays at Ajax for 6 more months or a whole season.

Ajax wants to do everything to prevent Antony, Lisandro Martinez, and Jurrien Timber from leaving. Ajax has put very high price tags on them. Between €70m - €80m for Antony and €50m - €60m for Martinez or Timber.
