Dont think the board will let us spend that much on a 30+ player and pay him his 200k per week or even more.. And zlatan loves dem $$$ so I cant see it happen although I just love him as a player!

The Germans haven't all of a sudden become equally as good as the Spanish because of an all German team final in the Champions League. There were and always have been German footballers as good as the Spanish. Likewise for Italian, Brasillian, English, Argentinian, Dutch, French and other countries all over the world.

Look at Belgium and the players they are producing at the moment...scary amounts of talent.

Just because teams from a certain league who have players mostly born in one country dominate Europe does not mean the other countries don't produce world class talent..

If scouts worked by that kind of logic the World would have missed out on some of the best players in history.

I didnt say just because of german final. Germany started in 2008, now they are going ahead of Spain I think. They have the hard working mentality and will destroy teams in 2014. Too much talent and experience.

Is it official or just speculation about Hilario and Turnbull?

Official!

So we have to get a goalkeeper in now and register an English/homegrown player I believe to replace Turnbull's slot.

Any source please. I can't see anything on chelseafc.com. I know they are slow with these kind of news

Am I right in understanding that your saying the Spanish team's in Barcelona and Real Madrid have dominated Europe for the past 15 years or so with Barca winning it in 2006, 2009 and 2011. Real winning it in 1998, 2000 and 2002. This having an infectious transformation on the Spanish national team from 2008 onward's.

Whilst the German's in Bayern Munich have always been there with Byern reaching the finals 3 out of the past 4 season's. Well do not forget Bayern won the Champions League back in 2001 and were very close to winning it in the 1999 season also. The German's haven't just started in 2008, they have always had a strong team in Bayern representing the Bundesliga and have the second most appearances in the European cup with 29 only second to Real Madrid.

There is no denying the truth that Spain has birthed the most exceptional talent who have proven to be World beater's with winning the World Cup in 2010 and the European Championship in 2008 and 2012. It's no coincidence that the Barcelona team that consist's a majority of the Spanish National team have been the most successful in club football at the same time.

Now if you look at Germany's history in all major tournament's then they surpass that of Spain's tenfold. They have won the World Cup 3 times and have been runner's up 4 times since the World Cup tournament was created. They have won the European Championship 3 times also and been runners up 3 times too.

In conclusion if you look at the history of the game then the German's have been far more successful that the Spanish have ever been in football. You may have not been referring to the recent all German final and the fact that Bayern has been ion 3 out of 4 CL finals in the past 4 year's when comparing the two. Though it leads me to think that you have because if you had taken these fact's into consideration then you would understand that Germany has always been a nation to birth exceptional talent's and just because of the recent flurry of success in the European club football doesn't mean it's something new. Yes Spain has experienced a purple patch in recent history and now it look's to be the German Bayern Munich's turn to enjoy their spoils in domination but they haven't just popped up in 2008. They have been there for a long time and this doesn't mean that we should all of a sudden look at German talent's because I'm sure that all of the top clubs have scouted German player's since International transfer's ever has come about.

If all the transfers they want go through, I believe the XI Monaco are aiming for and would end up with is something like;

Valdes;

Sagna, Ivanovic, Sakho, A. Ekotto;

Moutinho, Gonalons(?);

Rodriguez, Boateng, Aubameyang;

Falcao

The rumours are that Tevez or Robinho are wanted as a rotation or back-up option to Falcao.

If they can partner Moutinho with a Frenchman (it's not a certainty or anything that Gonalons would join Monaco but they are interested), that'd be 5 French-born (including Ekotto) players in their XI which is quite impressive for a team willing to splash the cash on any player!

I actually believe that'd do incredibly well in the CL if they blend together quickly assuming they have good subs; Which they would in Ocampos, Ruffier (rumoured), Tevez/Robinho (rumoured) etc.
