Vesper 31,181
Dodi Lukebakio: Watford sell striker to Hertha Berlin for reported £20m https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49196777 Watford have sold Dodi Lukebakio to Hertha Berlin for a reported £20m, despite the striker only playing a total of 15 minutes for the Hornets. The 21-year-old Belgian joined Watford from Anderlecht in January 2018 and was a substitute in a 2-0 Premier League defeat at West Ham the following month. He spent last season on loan with Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf, scoring 14 goals in 34 games. That included a hat-trick in a 3-3 draw with Bayern Munich in November. The Belgium Under-21 international is the only player to ever score three goals in a Bundesliga game against Manuel Neuer. "Hertha is a big club in Germany and showed a lot of interest in me," said Lukebakio after signing what his new club call a long-term deal. "I knew very quickly that I wanted to join the club. I want to play a lot of football here and score loads of goals." snip Lille are pissed
Vesper 31,181
Official: AC Milan beat Premier League clubs to Lille sensation Rafael Leão https://www.101greatgoals.com/news/official-ac-milan-beat-premier-league-clubs-to-lille-sensation-rafael-leao/ Serie A giants AC Milan have this afternoon confirmed the signing of Lille youngster Rafael Leao. Lille prodigy Leao, a 20-year-old Portuguese striker, came up through the youth ranks of Sporting CP, before making the move to Ligue 1 outfit Lille on a free transfer last summer. After initially struggling for game-time over the early months of his debut campaign at the Stade Pierre Mauroy, Leao began to carve out consistent playing time for himself around Christmas, quickly going on to showcase his immense potential. A purple patch of form between the middle of December and beginning of February saw the gifted hitman find the net 6 times over the space of 7 league appearances. As such, though his goalscoring exploits waned as the campaign wore on, Leao’s talents nevertheless saw him earn a host of admirers across Europe. Vesper 31,181
fucking hypocrites!!! the same motherfuckers (Salihamidzic and Karl Heinz-Rummenigge) who publicly tapped up CHO are now on Kovac for doing the EXACT same thing with Sane!! Man City transfer news: Leroy Sane comments see Bayern Munich chief urge manager Niko Kovac to apologise The Bavarians are keen on the German winger, who has struggled to command a starring role under Pep Guardiola https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/man-city-transfer-news-leroy-sane-bayern-munich-niko-kovac-salihamidzic-heinz-rummenigge-a9033251.html Bayern Munich director Hasan Salihamidzic has followed chief executive Karl Heinz-Rummenigge’s criticism of Niko Kovac’s comments by urging the Croatian to apologise to Manchester City for speaking publicly about the club’s pursuit of Leroy Sane. The German winger has been linked with a move back to the Bundesliga after struggling to hold down a first team place under Pep Guardiola. But after Kovac described Sane as the club’s “dream” player and admitting the Bavarians were confident of prizing him away from the Etihad, Salihamidzic has instructed the Croatian to backtrack with City angry at the public courting. snip absolute cunts, the lot of 'em

The deal takes Villa's summer spending past £120m as they prepare for a first season back in the Premier League. Fernando 6,743
80 million for Maguire? Men this market is so crazy. Atomiswave
Pizy 19,383
£80-85m for Maguire who would cost literally half that if wasn't English. More than DOUBLE what we paid for Rüdiger, a full fledged German international who regularly starts and plays for them. One of our best players last season. He is very good, though. United now have probably the best back 4 in the league or at least right there with Liverpool. If they make another signing or two I think they'll challenge for the title. Maguire is over-hyped because he is English and there's not much quality in England's CB position. If he wasn't English, the big clubs would likely not bothered with him at all. Whether Maguire can be great and be consistent at the highest level remains to be seen. If it is really 80-85 million, then Maguire will cost United even more than Van Dijk to Liverpool and De Ligt to Juventus. For that kind of money, United would have been better off signing De Ligt, who will at least give them 10-12 years of service. Also, United are really daft in this transfer. Mourinho wanted Maguire last summer and he reportedly cost 60-70 million back then but Ed Woodward did not back him. They even thought that asking price was too much! Now, they're gonna pay 80 million+ for him. Time will tell but Solskjaer going for English players and "forcing" the club to pay big money for them is similar to when Kenny Dalglish did the same with Liverpool about 8-9 years ago. United may be getting better quality players overall but that Liverpool situation didn't turn out too well for them. I would say in terms of having specialists in each full back position with Wan Bissaka and Shaw who are both good players compared to having Young and Valencia, as well as having Lindelof and Maguire in the middle, their back 4 is probably a lot lot better than what it was under van Gaal or Mourinho. Dont think Maguire is ever a 85m player though and still fancy United to concede goals at times to that back 4 gel but I think their fullbacks will really give them a lot going forward. Like I have said a few times United and Arsenal will surprise a lot of people this season. Utd potentially getting Dybala in, who although he has fallen behind where he should be, still has plenty of ability and keeping Pogba gives them a huge huge chance of being up there for top 4 minimum. They dont have any glaring weaknesses in any positions I would say. Arsenal still short at the back but if they sign Tierney and a CB better than what they have as well as keeping Torreira they will be stronger too.
