Scunthorpe To Strengthen With Chelsea Duo

Recommended Posts

Iron boss Nigel Adkins is set to run the rule over Phil Younghusband and James Simmonds

The 20-year-old's, who are set to be released by Chelsea in the summer, could link up with club-mate Jack Cork at Glanford Park.

"We had representatives from Chelsea at our game on Tuesday and they have been very pleased with the development here of Jack Cork" said Adkins ahead of Friday's trip to Stoke City.

"The two players we are bringing here next week are from the age group a year above Jack.

"They have been recommended to us and we will have a look at them in our reserve game next week and then make a judgement call on them after that."

I don't think either of them having been making waves exactly.

Definately not, the club have been trying to find a permanant club for them for a while now. Neither are anywhere close to being good enough for us and havn't for quite a while now. Simmonds showed great promise a few years ago and was very highly regarded, he never lived up to that though.

Would be good for them if they can move to Scunthorpe on a permanant.
