Ollie 4,400
In the UCL home leg in 2008, Anelka made a big impression and in 2010 he scored the opener in a 2-0 win. He seems to play pretty well against them and against Arsenal so he's not the worst 'big game' player we have. I think Anelka is perfectly adequate for this game. It's only against Man Utd where he seems to do less than nothing. I'm all for throwing Anelka AND Drogba in on Sunday. Let's face it, is Alelka a risk? Yes. Is Drogba a risk? yes. Is Torres a risk? Yes. Nodody is in good form imo and nobody warrants a place in this team. Mata, Lampard, Sturridge, Cech and JT are probably the only players that even warrant a place in the whole squad. Madmax 9,219
Those wanting Anelka to start - surely you'd want Torres to start too? They seem to have a telepathic understanding, more so than Anelka-Drogba.

Kieran. 6,317
Can't wait for this one. Watching Chelsea-Bolton from 05 as I type this. I hate international breaks...Anelka and Torres should start.
Madmax 9,219
The back 5, Lamps and Juan pick themselves. I hope the others are Ramires, Meireles, Torres, Sturridge.
francozola 2,040
I do hope Meireles starts. Their midfield is utter shite and if we play a 3 of Lamps, Raul and Ramires, we'll overrun them
jmarlow 458
Our last 10 games against the original big four (Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool) doesn't look good.Chelsea 2-0 ArsenalLiverpool 2-0 ChelseaArsenal 3-1 ChelseaChelsea 0-1 LiverpoolChelsea 2-1 Man UChelsea 0-1 Man UMan U 2-1 ChelseaMan U 2-1 ChelseaMan U 3-1 ChelseaChelsea 3-5 ArsenalW2 L8 D0That is an awful record losing 8 out of 10 games against them, bearing in mind we done the double over all of them in the 09/10 season. Something needs to change for this game.

Corazón De León 58
I dont think we should play both Mikel and Ramirez together for this match... I'd like to see a midfield of Lampard, Meireles and maybe Romeu.
BlueLion. 21,491
Liverpool are lethal on the counter-attack and we will need to utilise the width offered by the full-backs. That means we will need Mikel to sit and formulate our own attacks with his measured style whilst Ramires does his usual box-to-box shizz.

But I'd pick Ramirez over Mikel since he has more pace and can score goals. And thats what we need for this match!!!!! We have to take our chances, we've got to score!COME ON NANDO!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
Badboy 1,526
I would start Danny up front on his own with Malouda and Mata on the wing. Torres does not deserve a start after what he put us through against Arsenal and Drogba will be rusty. Danny loves scoring goals at home and Malou and Mata automatically increase his potency. Torres will be fustrated because the Liverpool fans will boooo him to death and it will affect him, Anelka is a no go area because he is shit. Danny loves scoring at the Bridge so give him a go upfront until the 60th minute then bring Torres on.I would start Danny up front on his own with Malouda and Mata on the wing.
