Counterexample :Actually, socks are a part of the kit just as the short or the shirt. Hence, as your shirt and short have to be in a different color that the other team shirt and short, socks also have to. Thus when our opponents wear white socks (or a light color) we wear the blue socks, and when our opponents wear blue socks we wear white socks. That's that.
