I firmly believe the EDL was set up by good people wanting to stand up for a Christian Britain - and now it has been overtaken by fascist morons. Initially it simply opposed the forceful presence of Sharia Law, and maintaining the neo-Christian culture of a liberal UK. Now it stands for racism and token oppression, and its good intentions have been wiped out.

Even so, I have nothing against them. They're extremists, not monsters.

In regards to the immigration debate, it isn't the fault of those coming in to the country. It's the government's open-arms policy in an attempt to reignite our struggling economy. Instead you have a large (mainly Asian - I'm not being racist here, this is the plain truth) percentage who come into the country and life off the welfare state.

This is not me being racist, but all you have to do is look around where I live. There are Polish families who come over and work their fingers to the bone for a pittance, whilst there are some Asian families who do nothing and claim so many benefits its no wonder why we're in a financial mire. I'm all for those who come into the country to work, for those who don't and just come in to scrounge off benefits, they should be sent back where they came from as far as I'm concerned. If that makes me a racist or a fascist then so be it, the fact of the matter is that this minority (pardon the pun) do nothing for the benefit of the country in terms of its economical standing.

That is completely false Alex, Asians contribute a huge amount to the economy. Asians are only 4% of the population but Asian business's contribute 10% of economic out put, 10% is huge for only 4% ! I think its just working class English people who have failed in life blaming others for their failings. The entrepreneurship abilities from the Asians is absolutely critical to this country.

there`s ignorant cunts in all works of life, every country, every race, every generation...

even liberal people can be cunts too...

e.g. if i had a fight with a hetro white person then people would ask me what it was over. if i had a fight with a gay guy it would be automatically presumed i`m homophobic. or if with a person of a different colour ,it would be presumed i`m racist.

i`m for true equality and therefore my opinion of each person comes from their personality and nothing else..

Thats true -people are people etc there are good and cunts in every culture/group.

@Badboy -that article is from 2005, you could run a similar one saying white peoples entrepenership is great.

Most asian businesses round our way avoid tax-they've told me ! And a lot of the industry seems to revolve around cannabis growing :getyou:

Let me get this straight. You've used that

to conclude that

And then you say Sturridge is English. Surely he is part of that 9.1 million Non-White British Population who make up that one immigrant out of 4.6 people :eyebrows:

Simply laughable isn't it? What he's essentially saying is that if you are not white then you cannot be British.

Actually having read a few of the posts in this topic I've decided that this actually isn't a forum for me. If one of the admins and/or mods can ban this account I would be grateful. Cheers.

Most business's in general avoid tax Greg, the better the accountant the more money you will save. Also most Asian business's are takeaways and sweet shops then you have the really wealthy industrial ones like Mitel. Also there is a huge amount of highly skilled Asians in this country too, a lot of doctors and nurses.

Yup thats true. Asians do put a lot of emphasis on education -if they dont have their own businesses like shops or taxi drivers -they generally have a profession.

When we talk about ''lazy people who dont want to work'' Lets not forget though that for capitalism to exist in this country, it needs a pool of 1-3 million of unemployed to keep wages down

Equally though, if people don't like the EDL they shouldn't give people reason to join them. Open borders, turning a blind eye to the setup of illegal sharia courts, and so-called "positive discrimination" have, in my opinion, all contributed to the far-right emerging. Let's not forget that the BNP were virtually unknown until Labour got into power.

The BNP has been around since 1982. They only became prominent in the media under Labour because there was a legal challenge to them only allowing white people to join, which they lost, and they briefly won some council seats, which they promptly lost

''Positive discrimination'' in terms of black people as far as I know has only been used in the US. Here it is an offence to discriminate against colour, disability or gender (although most employers do). The shariah courts thing was a scare story ran by the Daily Hate Mail and Express if I remember

Actually, Harriet Harman has tried to push though legislation which would make positive discrimination a prominent hiring policy, and it's been used in police recruitment (Avon Valley police removed all the White British candidates from its shortlist a few years back) and the town of Corby was stripped of a host of public sector jobs because its inhabitants were "too White and British".

You shouldn't leave just because some peoples opinions aren't the same as yours...Sorry If I've offended you in any way.

I think the left accuses the right of being racist a bit too much. Super Frank is conservative, but I don't think he's racist!

Sure you have your crazy right-wingers (the whole lot of them, in my opinion ;) ), but I think we can all agree that the EDL does nothing good for the country of England. Unless you consider scaring off potential immigrants from moving to the country as a good thing.

Its actually illegal to ''positively discriminate''. The couple of examples you gave are isolated. The police one was a futile attempt to say ''Look we're not racist'' back in 2006, and they had to apologise. not sure about the Corby one -but it's true that there is institutionalised racism/sexism in almost every organisation so something should be done.

As far as that skank Harman, she tried to do anything to please the effete Bliar, and is nothing more than an attention seeking war criminal.

Any way to get back to the point - I dont see how any of the above has created a bunch of neanderthal redundant football hooligans into the EDL.

As I have said they were formed as a result of a small Muslim group in Luton. Their 'leader' is Stephen Bitter- lemon (tommy Robinson), currently in custody and on hunger strike, and a shadowy millionaire called Alan Lake has financed them.

if you think some of the views on this topic are in any way extreme you must have lived a very sheltered life , or be unprepared to tolerate any views that are at most ( Centre right ) its a debate if you dont like whats being said ( 100 % of it completely or at least partly in condemnation of the EDL )put your point across eloquently as you do in most of your posts . Please dont leave the forum over it you'd be a great loss in my opinion :)
