I don't know about Mata but i would imagine Ramires will probably feel like shit today and so will Luiz, the Portuguese speaking bunch will be gutted. I could see their affection for AVB when Rami scored against Wolves.

"It hasn't been an easy day for those who, like me, are part of Chelsea," read a post on Mata's official Facebook page.

"I would like to thank the manager and wish him luck.

"We have to keep working hard and better days will come. Thanks for your support!"

I wonder how Mata feels about Lampard and co. This sacking could potentially cause further divisions, but the likes of Mata and Luiz are humble lads with dignity.

We can all probably agree that he had a horrible game on Saturday. Everything he tried didn't work out. Simple passes were over-hit/under-hit, those two shots that he had weren't taken properly, etc etc

I'm not criticizing him! What I'm trying to say is... do you now get the feeling that he knew that it would be AVB's last game if we failed to win? Remember that free-kick we had right at the end in the 94th minute when Cech went up for it as well? Cole was lying injured on the ground at the other end so there was a brief stoppage in play and the camera was on Juan for 30-40 seconds and he looked so shaken up. And he completely screwed that set piece up. It was terrible and they cleared it easily.

I dunno, I was just thinking about the players that supported AVB - Mata, Luiz and co. - and was trying to imagine how they're feeling right now and I started thinking about this.

The thing you know about Mata is, he'll still play with him trying to do everything he can for the squad. He's a player who enjoys his football, enjoys fan interaction and just enjoys being at this club. Even if we're going through a bad spell now, he still seems very committed and he's been an absolute gem this season. I hope he's not demotivated, Di Matteo will need him now more than ever!

I hope in June we sign at least one person to reduce the burden upon Juan.

It's a good point. If you're a player who supports the manager who is under enormous pressure, then you feel that pressure while playing also, because his job may depend on how efficiently you perform. I know I certainly would be nervous as hell. Mata was persuaded to join by AVB and Torres, he explained that AVB told him how he wanted to use him and about the future project, then he told Valencia to let him go... with a new manager, he never knows if and how he will play and what lies in the future.

If I were him, I'd consider leaving.

He's had a few poor games for us, it happens, i doubt it was because he 'knew' AVB was going.
