And it's Chelsea pushing this through is it? Have you ever considered that Mata wants this? I'm sure United aren't our first choice of clubs to sell to, but what if it's actually Mata that wants to go there? Should we refuse and just leave him unhappy? After everything he has done for the club?

The board are the easy guys to blame. Always the scapegoats. It's ridiculous.

I not only have thought about it, I am almost certain he wants to go (not that I have inside info). However, Mata is not the player that would cause trouble due to a 6 months wait...

We are only selling him because ALL the parties want this deal to go through. I highly doubt our board actually tried to sell Mata to anyone. If they did, I bet other clubs would have showed interest in him!

And to your answer, yes. We should keep him until the end of the season so everybody can think through a deal better than in a rushed January transfer. We still have huge games until the end of the season, you know? Hazard - Oscar - Willian cant play in the high level we need them to twice a week until May or so!

In an ideal world, we would: 1) keep Mata; 2) utilize him every now and then in games where our starters cant play; 3) only sell him to a non-rival after the season is over and all our loanees are available to replace him (Piazon, Moses, etc)...

It is not such an impossible plan!

so did JT in moscow.... FUCKING SELL HIM.

Thats not what Im trying to say. I think Mata is a great player, but he isnt the best player in our squad. He wants a starting role, we cant give him that. Simple as.

but thats not what u said. u brought up stats for the season, mata's defensive liability, his "spectatorness" in the CL final and finally as the worst low-blow his missing a penalty in the CL final(like that has never happened to any1 before).

big difference dude, big difference.

But you're missing the key element here: if we had waited till the summer, we would be lucky to sell him for 20-25m. That is the incentive to sell him now when utd are panic-buying.
