Superblue 6,372
There's talk that the Lukaku deal will include an option to extend the loan again next season but triggering that extension will also include an obligation to buy. Will see how this plays out. Ultimately I think it's going to be a case of getting his wages off the payroll and minimising his amortisation hit to the books each season for the forseeable. Blues Forever 1,232
From Nizaar: “Somebody told me once that Tuchel and Lukaku were chatting watching a Spurs match, Tuchel then said “There’s your daddy” about Antonio Conte as a joke, it didn't go down well with Lukaku". Usually I'd take these type of stories with a pinch of salt but it fits in exactly with his behaviour down the years. Let's be optimistic. It could be exactly the same number of games. 🙂

Absolute fraud. No, I don't think this is true. I didn't know anything about him when he was first linked. It wasn't until autumn of 2011 that we had seen enough of Rom for it to become clear he wasn't Chelsea level. Should have just taken Everton's money two and a half years later and be done with it. [About signing Rom from Inter.] To be fair, you've implied what I'm going to say but I'd like to make it explicit. All of us here have confidence in our football opinions, which is why we take the trouble to type them out day after day. 🙂 I readily admit that I have a strong belief in my ability to judge a footballer but, even so, I've made misjudgements. I won't speak for anyone else but I've made mistakes and not quite too few to mention. I think all we need to have is the integrity to say yep, I got that one wrong, and we can get back to listing out all of the ones we feel we got right. We pay a big fee to Italian and then we give them a player back for free. The deal is not exactly free for Inter but what else are the new owners supposed to have done? bigbluewillie

manpe 10,861
Good riddance. Was excited and had high hopes for him after seeing what he did in Italy, but quickly became apparent that he has a shitty attitude and with shitty attitude you don't make it at Chelsea. Milan 17,997
LUKAKU: ‘LEAVING INTER FOR Chelsea WAS A MISTAKE’ “The biggest challenge of my career will be this season here. I left. It was a mistake, right Nico?” he giggled with teammate Nicolò Barella. “Now I am happy to be wearing this jersey, the team knows what we need to do, it’ll be a great challenge this season and we need to continue like this. “I realised last season when I was in England, just how important Inter are in the world. The club’s profile is improving on an international scale, the social media approach is really important too and you can see how we act in the locker room, in training, our hugs and jokes. “Milan is a wonderful city and that is why I kept the old apartment when I went to London, because my mother was coming here all the time and I wanted to return too.” 💩🤡
