didierforever 7,349
Those same stats have the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Sterling (IIRC) losing the ball just as much as Costa does, doesn't mean Lukaku is better than either technically does it.sterling and sanchez are the main men for arsenal and pool (last season). they had the license to take on players on the wings so as to open defences. costa and lukaku comparision is pretty much the case of comparing 2 strikers who can score goals but have some problems with their back to the goal despite their enormous size.,

Why are we stopping at where players are losing the ball? I don't really do stats personally but if we look at chances created per player, I'm very certain that Costa trumps Lukaku in that by quite some distance. Maybe Costa loses the ball more because he tries to be a lot more adventurous than Lukaku? Have you ever thought of that?

Lukaku has already lost the ball over 5 times and has broken down a lot of Everton's moves going forward. robdog

Tomo 21,751
Costa is good but he doesn't deserve to be on the "world-class" list I honestly believe he is.

Madmax 9,219
people like someone - he is the best ever. nothing can be wrong.people dont like him - they find the smallest fault of it and keep piling on and over exageratiing it.So exactly what you're doing in the Mourinho thread, then? mediator 2,026
I don't think he is technically much worse limited than Costa is tbh
The Skipper 20,609
How did costa fare against city? How did we play as a team? Costa barely even touched the ball. Lukaku has lost the ball countless of times in this game however and a lot of attacks stopped at him.

Lukaku has lost the ball countless of times in this game however and a lot of attacks stopped at him.Costa was awful against City. Yeah, the team was awful but when he got the ball he was battled out of it easily and was manhandled. Costa did not fare any better than Lukaku. To use today as evidence of Lukaku hold up play is unfair. Costa did receive the ball like I was saying but just could not get past them. City just look too strong right now. Have not conceded a goal.

didierforever 7,349
So exactly what you're doing in the Mourinho thread, then?so let me get this straight. iva has been shit for a year now. people are clamouring for him to be dropped. azpi is bein played as a LB and yet iva starts every match. and more so we have lost the likes of bertrand and luis cos of it... ya.. seems fair to compare these 2 things. Referring more to your sudden 180 in going from more or less Mourinho apologist (sorry but that's true) to vehemently anti-Mourinho chiefly over the Ivan favouritism. Not that you're wrong in wanting him to be benched of course, everyone can see that.
