lionsden 4,689
At this point in time, I had rather play Malouda ahead of Kalou and Anelka next season. Our front 3 should be Sturridge, Torres and Malouda (it wouldn't hurt to get a better winger though)
lionsden 4,689
Good to see AVB experimenting with Chalobah at DM. . .it would be interesting to see how he deploys D' Luiz next season. btw why didn't he feature in this game?
Tortilla9 390
Torres and Sturridge seemed to interplay well together. Kalou not so much. Not quite sure Malouda is the answer either but he might be the best option at the moment.

YankinBlue42 72
Just read through this thread as I watched the last minutes of the game. If you took out all the posts celebrating a goal, you would have thought that Chelsea lost 6-0. The negativity was almost unbearable to read.Nice way to finish the pre-season for the lads. Here's to the new season! :blue scalf:Malouda > Anelka > KalouMy thoughts as well.

Bosnian Blue 2,471
Solid game. Our pressing and movement off the ball was very promising and I want to see more of the same. We'll definitely miss Sturridge against Stoke. Hope Obi is ok.
manpe 10,861
Result was good, but have worries over John Obi... let's hope Mikel's injury wasn't bad and that he was taken out as a precaution. Sturridge impressed, Bosingwa was better than usual as was Torres. Kalou and Anelka continue to be worries, neither of them are worth a place in starting squad at the moment... If anybody, it should be Malouda before them.

Tortilla9 390
Quick rant - CTV is crap! Evidentally "LIVE" means starting at second half kickoff. Watched the first half on another stream. Does anybody know when CTV will have the replay? Or will they?

Kostas 1,468
Entertaining match to watch. Loved how our team adapted differently to Torres' and Drogba's game.
Ollie 4,400
That was piss easy to be honest but good to win all our pre season games after like losing them all last season. Torres was brilliant today but i'm so pissed off he was subbed, he wants goals ffs! Rather it've been like 6-1 because the match warranted that. Kalou was once again the weakest link but yet he's not been told 'goodbye' which actually angers me and frustrates me like mental. Anelka was also shit, that chance he just gave to the keeper... wtf? Our best XI atm is:CechIvanovicAlexTerryColeRamiresMikelBenayounSturridgeTorresMaloudaAnd i hope that's the team on Sunday.
lionsden 4,689
If the amount of minutes played could indicate AVB's preferred starting X1 then I'm afraid Kalou may be the preferred choice on the left wing forward. on the basis on this pre-season alone, we are deficient in that area and desperately need reinforcement because while Kalou and Anelka are clearly mediocre, Malouda doesn't exactly inspire confidence neither. I was quite impressed with Josh today, who needs Modric when you have this gem, who already possesses unique skill, maturity and intelligence that most midfielders in their prime can only dream of. one more thing, Lampard should leave set piece taking to someone else, enough is enough and Torres had his best performance yet in blues shirt, Ray wilkins words must have sank in.all in all, AVB's influence on the team is becoming more noticeable with every match, that was quite evident in the confident and precise passing and moving football we displayed today.
