I think AVB may just be holding out for better players in the summer like Hazard etc that are not available now. Even fergie is said not to be loading up. No point buying middling player like kalou and malouda just for the sake of buying players. If we are not being active because we are holding out for the big guns, then so be it. I would like to see 2 players this period though (which is more or less what he has said he will do).

As much as I would get pissed if we didn't sign anyone besides Cahill I would be happy if that made us sign the likes of Cavani, Modirc and Hazard in the summer.

Are you insane!?, i wouldn't, we need at least 3 players. We will end up finishing 6th or 7th if we don't spend, also AVB will get sacked. We havent got any passers in midfield, and that's still a very poor squad, and a decent first 11, but decent isn't good enough, decent doesn't get you in the top 4!. If we only get Cahill and no one else then we are doomed.

What a moving article, what a brilliant man André is for what he has done for that player and his family. Well done André, well done.

The press, players and especially Abromovich must give this man time to set up his legacy at the club, young he may be, but he looks to me a man of passion, intelliegence and determination. So he's being hard on players, these guys must realise and accept he is in charge and just like him they work for the club. Players such as Lampard and Terry as good as they are must realise that their playing careers are not everlasting and must make way for players who want to make a name for themeselves just as Lamps and Terry did when they emerged as stars. So AVP is being harsh with them, boo hoo, get over it, give the man time to settle, ok so previous managers have come in and won cups, but they never lasted, why put that pressure on AVP? People need to realise that new managers bring new strategies and ideas to clubs and they need the time for these to be embedded and implemented giving time for big clubs like Chelsea to reach new heights. Long may AVP reign and this is coming from a someone who doesn't support Chelsea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah but teams were much worse then, we didn't have a Man City we have now, Spurs were terrible, Arsenal seriously flopped, and Liverpool were to far away to get back up, only Man United were challenging. Now almost every team is at it.

Spurs are in the same boat they were this time last year will be interesting to see what will happen when they get a few bad results on the trot. We always seem to come good in the buisness end every season just a shame in all bar one since 2008 we blew our title bid before that.

I have to disagree here, I think our squad with all its problems can fight for a 4th place. After all our bad games we are still in 4th. Liverpool and Arsenal can do worst. So I think we dont need 3 players to get into next CL, and I think summer is not the best time to buy players, Anelka and Luiz aside, I dont remember of a good move in summer.
