That is after they had handed in a transfer request.

Why should players who are definitely going to be leaving be training with the first team?

How do you know that this happened after they handed in the transfer request? How do you know that they didnt hand out transfer request because they were banished to the reserves by the Manager?

The story about them being "banished" came a couple days after they had both played in the league cup game against Liverpool.

How is it possible for them to be training with the reserves and playing for the first team

Because according to Beasley, the "bust up" happened and that AVB laid into first teamers after the Liverpool loss in CC. See it all happened so sudden which gives further credence to what Beasley posted.

And it contradicts your theory. If AVB knew that he was going to banish Alex and Anelka he wouldnt have played Anelka in CC 3 days before the Newcaslte game.

You didn't answer my question...

Like I said, you may look at it suspiciously, and point towards the timing. But I dont care about the timing. Had he printed this on Sunday you still would have spoken about the timing cus the news about Alex and Anelka was all over then and you would have said, here we go again THE SUN apparently made up the story just after the news about Anelka and Alex broke out...

So when do you think would have been an appropriate time to post tthis news about what happened at the training ground...

AVB laid into first-teamers who didn't even play against Liverpool? and just won 3-0 against Wolves.

Went to Drogba who had just put in 2 better than normal performances in a row and said "you're not a fraction of what you used to be" (way to make him feel better eh?)

I'm actually surprised Torres was not mentioned, only thing that could have made this article funnier.

AVB laid into every First Teamers one by one according to the article, therefore assuming it involved players who played against Liverpool and played against the "Mighty" Wolves, lost twice to Liverpool at Home in 10 days.

2 better than normal performances? I am sorry but did you hear the crowd chanting Torres's name at 65 minutes while a Chelsea Legend was leading the line against Wolves? Being average doesnt mean better than normal performances. And telling players like Drogba and Terry already what they know which is "You guys are top players" hardly helps. Carlo was a nice man but we needed someone like Mourinho you can put these players in their places. You have to hurt their ego. that is what Reverse Psychology is all about.

Articles related to the "incident" came out nearly a week ago..those were bearable and were at least neutral..even the Sun did their bit back then, and now recently switched to articles about Drogba's contract... now they get all hot and bothered and churn this out..its hard to see this as plain co-incidence...

It worked with Lampard didnt it? He benched him and took him off at half time at OT and Lampard came back strong in October...Like I said, massaging egos of these big players isnt going to help. Carlo did it last season. And you saw the results.

I said in an earlier post, that the chanting had little to do with Drogba..there were songs sung for him (albeit less loud) when he was playing...

The last time I remember someone hurting (or at leas tried to) the players' ego was Scolari..I don't see how he motivated them any better than Carlo...

What incident?

The Alex-Anelka one..

I was going to put average, but i decided to be nice lol.

Still i find it very difficult to believe anything in this article, shit like this are posted to attract readers.

Remember the article that was on the Daily Mail (i think) saying AVB bashed all the players (sounds familiar?) after our loss to Arsenal?

Only for AVB to refute those claims, and say that was not his management style :whistling:

That's the way it should be done imo. A couple games on the bench and any player would naturally know he has to up his game.

Scolari issue was that his training lacked intensity...This was pointed by the players in October and later by Roman's advisers which meant he had already lost player's respect as some players went to the board. Now in this situation, if you try to enforce reverse psychology it is going to back fire. which it did. . Nobody knows what happened between him and Drogba. He banished Drogba to the reserves, he did not allow Drogba to go to France to recover from his injury, etc etc. Add to all this Scolari's English...

Like I said, the only reason why I believe this article is because of Rob Beasley.
