Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas

Yes..

How on earth does Terry hinder André's authority on the squad?

Questioning his performance I can live with. To suggest he should move on from the club is the most absurd claim I've ever heard. And people complain players don't have any loyalty and here we see people wanting one of the most loyal to move on.

I'm completely blind-sided how you and Jones came to this conclusion. Please elaborate..

Being loyal has nothing to do with this. David Beckham was loyal but was shown the door. You can't fuck around with the manager. And that is one reason why Alex Fergie is successful while at our club the owner listens to the Terry.

I'm not advocating kicking JT out of the club but there seem to be those who think he's untouchable because he's a club legend. Keane was a United legend and a leader on the pitch. Everybody at the club knew it. Yet when he crossed the line Fergie quickly gave him the boot. The man on the sideline needs to be in charge and the players need to know that. At Chelsea that does not seem to be the case.

Absolutely what I am trying to say. Sir Alex always had problems with David Beckhams off field fancy lifestyle and even had issues with him marryig a pop star and that is why he let him move on to Madrid. Yes getting hit by the boot also played a part but he was already on his way out..

Similarly JTs off field issues are derailig our title challenge almost every year. I won't hold him guilty just yet for being racist but he attracts negative media attention almost every season which affects the team.

Also JT and alot of people around at the club give the impression that he is untouchable. And going by past events I have no doubt that that's true

Your examples aren't strong tbh.. The Scolari one I'll give you, but that wasn't just John Terry. Wasn't that needed anyway?

The England case, well we all know that wasn't a coup. In fact if anything, he was answering questions which everyone was scared to. He didn't 'take on' Crapello or even question him, the media destroyed him, despite putting him up there. Hell the so called captain Gerrard didn't even do media interviews, of course Terry would step up.

You have justified the claim he should 'move on'. I agree about dropping him if his performances are weak ect. That is what makes the 'untouchables' lose that status. Not making a player of Terry's calibre leave.

We're not United where we have an abundance of talent to step up even. Rooney was kept on when he questioned the ambitions of the club wasn't he?

If anything Terry would help AVB's cause. Forcing him out would reflect so negatively on the squad, this I can guarantee. It would have the opposite reaction. Villas-Boas said he's not the bully type.. He wants to work with the players. Fergie has his way with players, Villas-Boas has his.

Why exactly are players untouchable at Chelsea? Is it because of Jose's "untouchable" phrase when he was here? If so, don't people realize Jose is gone?

Because we don't have any talent to take their place. Purse strings tightening up perhaps..

because while the managers kept changing the core formed by Jose in Drogba Terry Lampard and Cech have been constant. Any new manager will first have to appease them and then the squad. Not to mention The salaries these players are on and they are famous personalities. Also they are close to Roman since roman gives them his private yatch to party. A new manager in this case is almost an outsider to the clique formed at Cobham.

Warnie, I really hope this is an exaggeration. If not, it sounds worse than high school and it's embarrassing. No wonder nobody ever wants to leave. I think of that movie "Mean Girls" that my daughter dragged me to years ago because she needed a ride and $.

I still try to get my head around Roman being open to all of this. I have a picture in my head of the typical Russian businessman (good and bad) and just can't see how or why he puts up with a bunch of bs from his employees.

Sad thing is, it's not an exaggeration. Roman's lent his yacht multiple times to several players for occasions like holidays, receptions, etc.

Thats exactly what I thought as I was typing it. Sadly, it is true....Our top players from Mou era are spoilt.

When Fergie came to Man Utd, there was the booze culture and there were players addicted to drinking drugs and partying, Fergie's first objective was to get them on right path and let go of those who refused to tag his line. Bryan Robson was one of those who he got back on the right track.

AVB has a similar challenge. He needs to get rid of the player power and the cliques formed and only then he can get the club back on the track.

I was watching Revista today. There's a good analysis on Real Madrid & why they're successful now. "11 players with the same idea". This is how Mourinho's been setting up his squad for more than a year.

Gives us an indication of what needs to happen at Chelsea. Get 11 guys who share André's philosophy. I agree with some of our members when they say not everyone's buying into his style.
