Ramires and Torres are stronger than people give them credit for.

Torres and Ramirez are strong but their game isn't physical. They rely more on speed and movement.

Hernandez is strong too but like Torres he is reliant on pace and movement

Where as drogba essien ballack were pure brutes in the box and in THe midfield

I thought AVB made all the right subs today... Ivanovic for Bosingwa was a bit unexpected since we haven't seen him do it before, but it was a very welcome sub in my eyes and it paid off imo. Many managers are reluctant to change the defensive line, but AVB clearly has the balls to take off weak links no matter which line. As Bolton started whipping in more long balls and looking for fouls, more aerial power was needed.

Mikel for Ramires was a change towards more defensive and physical approach. He provided much needed cover, security and physical presence in defence. As we were leading comfortably, one of Ramires or Meireles deserved a rest. A good sub by AVB.

Mata was clearly struggling in this physical game and his touches didn't seem to be as good as in previous games, but shit happens, you can't expect him to be class A every single game. He looked tired as well. I really wanted to see Lukaku get a run, but I was pretty sure it was either Mata or Sturridge going to make way, and as game went on, I was 90% it was going to be Mata going off... And I was hoping Anelka would come on instead of Malouda, and it did happen.

I think AVB did everything right today in terms of tactics, team selection and substitutions.

The passion for two wheels is something that grew in me. My first bike was a Yamaha XT 350cc, a heavy engine at the start. Then I've had Hondas and KTMs, as well as the trials bikes I've got.

Impressive.

Hahah he's such a boss!

coughkalou@valenciacough.

I knew someone was going to say that.

2 things.

1. AVB couldn't know that Kalou was gonna make that idiotic penalty.

2. The sub was made to reinforce our right wing because Valencia was attacking there using Bosingwa's defensive weakness.

So in theory, it was a good sub :P

XDDD yes it is. To be serious, I'd rather put Ramires on the right wing to reinforce our defence , do Kalou really get some defensive ability ?

my theory is that twice he had Drog warmed and ready to go on ...1st he put on Anelka ,,,then Kalou ..I think Drog may have said he a twinge

hence Kalou went on

I'm confused as to whether that link should be placed in the media bullshit thread instead.

The only reason that hack and others of his ilk don't seem pleased with AVB's media interaction is because his responses are no-nonsense, to the point and non controversial. Sure they'd like him to respond to inane, repetitive questions and give them stuff to bend and give a sensationalist spin to.

Also, lmao at the suggestion that Wenger's good relations with the media have anything to do with him still being in a job there. The only reason he hasn't been sacked after 6 years without any silverware is that their Board goes along with the manager's belief that qualifying for the CL every year is a supreme, overriding achievement.

The writer gives an example of Mourinho's relationship with media and how great it was and how the media loved him. And by giving the example of Arsene Wenger implies that Media relations are important to avoid sack.

It didn't help Mourinho did it?
