LDN Blue 7,903
Chelsea assistant manager Michael Emenalo believes a lack of service explains Fernando Torres' difficulty in settling at Stamford Bridge."I can say he's still adapting to the pattern of Chelsea at the moment," Emenalo told Goal.com. "This is due to the fact he's still missing the juicy passes being served to him by the likes of [Xabi] Alonso and [steven] Gerrard, but with time he will adapt."When asked why he thought so many players including Michael Essien, Florent Malouda and Jon Obi Mikel had underperformed, he replied: "High expectations from fans and management made them play the way they played, in the sense that they didn't perform as usual because they were playing under pressure."Emenalo, who admits his own future hangs in the balance following the removal of Carlo Ancelotti, insists that winning the UEFA Champions League is Chelsea's priority next season and expects Didier Drogba to stay at Stamford Bridge.http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/clubfootball/news/newsid=1445307.html?cid=rssfeed&att=

Madmax 9,219
High expectations from Essien? What else are we supposed to have of him?And tbf, everyone is smart enough to understand why Torres hasn't done very well.
Fulham Broadway 17,363
Emanalo was brought in because Grant recommended him from Tel Aviv. He looks decidedly bored during games, hardly bothering to watch, and I have doubts as to his usefulness, the club probably needs him like a fish needs a bicycle. However I do not beleive he made those Goal.com comments -if he did his days are numbered. neel 257
Thank god it is now officially documented that plyers around Torres were piss poor.
Waterfall 893
With the form Torres was on, he wouldn't have scored much playing next to Xavi and Iniesta either. One would think a 50M player should be able to make his own plays.

Shane 2,275
'Juicy passes' what a gobshite. I hope he's next out the fucking door. What should we do then, Sign Gerrard and Alonso, so they can give 'juicy passes'?
chrismada9 1,948
This thread explains exactly what I mentioned in the Luka Modric thread a few minutes ago. At least there's someone within the Chelsea faithful that agrees with me.
dodojojo 510
It's goal.com. Hopefully for Emenalo sake, it's a fake or highly embellished interview. If not, he comes off as very unprofessional here. Even if I agree with some of 'his' points, a representative of a big football club shouldn't be making those comments public. Assistant coaches shouldn't been seen or heard anyway. Where are all those interviews from Ferguson's assistants? They're underlings, they should stay under.

termninja 5,290
He can talk whatever he wants. I think he's was brought as a temp assistant and that our new manager will bring his own man.

CFC-Lloydy 38
He should never have been given the Assistant manager post and by saying this (If true) shows how bloody useless he really is! Being in Franco Zola for Assistant!
dodojojo 510
Grr...how do they get away with that? I remember a recent fake translation of a Fernando Torres interview he did in Spain. Anything Goal.com should be banned.
