I'm tired of this United wankfest really, I want us to knock them out of the Cup and Paris out of Champions League and in the end to miss top 4. Malmo are not only a bad bunch but the Swedish league has ended in November and will start again in April, they basically play silly friendly matches by then. Our bench should take them out easily. Man City PL with the regulars, followed by a week rest and then v United again with the regulars, again a week rest for the regulars before the Final and then Spurs. Think we are going to manage it quite well. -
Well if he's a Bayern player by the start of the next season then for me the club has managed to fuck this thing up big big time. Not saying Callums the best thing since sliced bread, but he a true Chels this guy and frankly the most talented attacking player coming from the Academy. We've all watched a lot of guys during their youth (Tammy, Aina, McEachran, Boga, Musonda, Kakuta and a lot others) thinking they are going to end up as world beaters, but truly did any of them looked that special as Callum?? Frankly this kid has got them all pace, trickery, swagger, he's fucking special this lad and I'm going to say this again a Chelsea through and through. Seems clear to me the kid must play with Eden and Higuain from now on not because we risk losing him but because he better than the other options Willian and Pedro are gash folks Callum must play ahead of them two simple as that.

v United at the Bridge would be my preference to be honest. -
At least Spursy get to keep the 3-1 win DVD haha The mighty Blues go to the Wembley!! Yesssss get in!!!
-
Emerson you don't fucking blow this!!!!!

Be sure we are going to extend the loan for a season and then look for a better option by summer of 2020. There is no way we can recoup that 36M for a 33 yo unless he goes to China.

Very good point, I am trying to say the same thing for weeks and the comparisons to Pep and Klopp are the right ones to make. Actually the one to Klopp is more suited at the moment because of the difference in budgets Chelsea and City operate on. But personally I think that the impatience we now feel from some Chelsea fans comes from some sort of, I don't know how to call it, immaturity maybe? We've been spoiled for years with transfers and trophies but maybe it is the time we accept that it could actually be a period of 5-7 years from now on until we win a big trophy again (league title/UCL)? It is something we should think about and try to accept - Chelsea does not compete by themselves! City are only going to get better and let's face it - as much as we hate Liverpool and United - they are not going to be dog turd forever. You knew a time would come when Liverpool was going to be back in the title race - well here it is. This is not 2007 anymore when you only had to worry about United. As soon as we accept this I think we'll be far more patient with managers.

What are the rules for this one? A 2-1 Chelsea win takes the game to OT? Or is it the away goal rule applied?

Pundits love to make a scapegoat out of a foreign player that came in the country for big bucks. Jorginho is the least of this club's problems, he'd actually look monstrous in the current City side. If you watched City's 1st half yesterday you would have seen them play the same dull football we've played for the past weeks, but the individual quality made the difference. We do not have that, I believe Sarri when he says players keep hold of the ball too much and do not speed up the play in the final end, I do not believe for a single moment he would say this if he would instruct them to do those things, he's stubborn and a lot of things but not a hypocrite. I do honestly believe there are players that would not get out of their confort zone and would not take any risks because they are technically limited and have a low football IQ and no matter how much they would practice something on the training ground they would not apply game time because they are past it. And the first thing that comes to my mind is Willian the other day shooting straight into Marcos Alonso... Past it, dumb, one dimensional footballer with no awareness, just eyes on the ball and shoot like an idiot regardless of what is happening around him. And unfortunately the squad is filled with this type of players...
-
I understand what you say but I want to explain once again - My point is that we know very well who Sarri is, made Napoli play beautiful football for three years in a row and improved his players massively. Chelsea did not hire someone like, let's say, Gattuso, just because of his name and the fact he would have come from Milan. We got one of the best managers out there that had his full backs play high up the pitch and the three up front play quick one twos and make A LOT of runs in behind. Why aren't Chelsea's full backs and wingers the same? My guess is they are too limited and simply cannot play this type of football. The fact that Sarri does not bench the big names I think we all know the answer and frankly it keeps this club from moving forward. And the board keeps this locker room power active, too, by keeping players for too long and giving contracts to average ones. And then there is the complacency. What I've noticed with the current generation of players at Chelsea and it happened before, is that once someone gets a lead at the top, for example Liverpool now, or City, they down tools. It's like they say to themselves 'Ok this is over in November we cannot win the title we'll just finish the season and go on holiday'. They are mentally weak, Sarri is totally right, as soon as Liverpool and City went 6-7 point ahead they stopped playing as if it was 3 rounds to go and not 30. You look at the way Chelsea have played against Spurs at Wembley and Arsenal the other day. Chelsea had all the ball and frankly I've never seen this team go to the Emirates and simply hide the ball from Arsenal. Kepa could have read a book in the 2nd half. But something was missing in the final third and I blame the players for this, no movement, no runs in behind, nothing to put just a bit of pressure on that Arsenal defence. And still with no threat from Arsenal, Azpilicueta never overlapped and stayed in his comfort zone. For me it is clear - 60-70% of this squad is not good enough to play this kind of football but nothing is going to change because this board always has the last word on everything and not the manager.

Agree mate and I honestly believe that worse than the current state of this club is the fans' levels of expectations. Apart from a few players that you can count on one hand the others are Europa League stuff and no league title material. The cruel reality but it is the truth. Klopp had Clyne, Moreno, Lovren, Milner at left back, Emre Can, Lucas Leiva, Origi,Lallana,Alberto Moreno. Got rid of them all from the starting line up and improved on them. Guardiola the same, improved on the likes of Clichy, Kolarov, Sagna, Toure, Zabaleta etc. It's a process and it needs time, Sarri only got one outfield player to fit his tactics (Jorginho) and a loanie that personally I don't see why Chelsea would buy. Others are from the Mourinho and Conte times and I don't think they can be polished anymore, there are big levels of complacency in this squad, the club simply needs to let go of a lot of them and bring new blood in.

People comparing this Chelsea to Sarri's Napoli clearly have only watched maybe a few Napoli matches those against Juventus and some Champions League ones. This Chelsea does not even come close to that Napoli, if Sarri had come here having Napoli play like Chelsea do now I would say yes the manager is at fault for this dull display we see now. But he had Napoli play beautiful football and improved all his players - during his time there Insigne was one of the most dangerous wingers in Europe, Higuain had a monster season with Sarri broke a record that was standing still for decades, Ghoulam top left back, Koulibaly one of Europe's most wanted defenders, Jorginho the perfect deep lying midfielder, Hamsik basically a perfect midfielder for 4-3-3 and I can go on and on and on. There is nobody to blame at the moment it is simply the fact players are bang average simply not good enough. Worst set of full backs, boring wingers and absolutely no threat from midfield. You watch City - the wingers provide width and the two central midfielders go close to the striker. Klopp uses his wingers close to Firmino while the full backs bomb forward. Sarri's wingers do nothing, no runs in behind, nothing, and the full backs are shite, Azpilicueta would not overlap to save his life and the two midfielders in front of Jorginho basically do nothing, they don't asisst, don't score, they are of ni threat for the opposition. This is going nowhere if Sarri has to work with duds that clearly fancy Mourinho/Simeone type of tactics or they are not good enough.
-
Striker or no striker a cup exit would be an embarrassment I tell you there is no excuse at home no matter is Giroud leading the line or Hazard false 9 again. Spurs is going to miss Kane and Son, we simply can't let getting kicked out by a midfield of Harry Winks and Sissoko
-
Hopefully just an option to buy and not an obligation to buy.
-
Personally I think he is the best choice SHORT TERM aka until this season is over. But a buy out option in the summer of 2020? Like a few months before he turns 33? Have to admit I don't see the logic behind all this and smells like bs if you ask me. I mean I know this board has this habit for a lot of fuck ups lately but surely they can't be that dumb can they?
-
What are the odds for Mourinho to take over at a Chinese club and bid 100M for his darling Willian??? It's the only way this board would get rid of him. He's fucking useless!!!! Two dead spots since minute 1 the right wing and the centre forward. Hazard is not a false nine!!
-
My feeling is he is going to be starting at the Emirates. Imagine Higuain scoring against Arsenal and then against Spurs at the Bridge while we advance to the Final. Haha madness
-
I've literally not watched a single minute of this Malcolm guy but I wonder what if he'd have gone to Roma in the first place? Well I bet you there would be hundreds of articles linking several English clubs to him, including us, for something like 60-70M. I say get him done at least he's young enough still, if he's dross we sell him and we're on profit no matter what.
-
I don't know this transfer windows are a pain in the ass all the time all I hope we do get somebody with attitude to lead the line and keep hold of Hudson Odoi if we are to challenge for the FA Cup at least, otherwise even a top 4 finish is in big danger. Eden as a false 9 simply does not work
-
Milan recall Silva, sell Higuain to Chelsea and Sevilla get Morata 😎😎😎
-
Don't want to ruin the 'who is tapping who' debate, but to answer the German fella - listen mate it's my opinion only, maybe I'm wrong, I don't know I'm not an expert otherwise I'd work for some scouting network, but there is something special about Hudson-Odoi, you see wingers every now and then like I don't know, Ben Arfa, Depay? and there is tons of other examples, bags of potential, some flicks etc. but still there is something telling you they won't cut it. Well it does not apply with young Callum I can tell you the kid is a superstar in the making and the day he leaves it is going to be a sad day for me and a failure from the club IMO. He's not bigger than the club and when the club does not challenge for the title mid season, nor the Champions League and his competition is Willian and Pedro, than the kid must be given a regular spot and see what he's all about until summer. What if this unrests Willian and Pedro mid season? Well nobody gives a damn about them and I'd bite my hand if they are still here come August.

The midfielder from Boca Juniors joined Cagliari today, too, for 21M.
-
I've said this after the league game at Wembley and I say it again, Kane is the FA's darling and everything goes in his favour. Watch our league match at the Wembley and actually Tottenham's every PL match - the slightest of touches or even the opposition's breath he feels, he draws a foul immediately. If there is more angles then have a look at all of them, if not let the linesman do his job. The angle we saw on TV was a complete joke - forget Kane's position, look at Sissoko, the TV angle basically shows him standing ON THE HALFWAY LINE, the other angle Sarri brought into discussion shows him one yard away from the halfway line... What a joke

Comparisons with Pato and Falcao... think it's too harsh. Remember just 6 months ago he was regarded as the best player in Serie A by everybody, not only Juventus fans. Before Cristiano arrived. The move to Milan simply did not work. And it's not like he joined an all star team, Milan are crap let's face it. Cutrone, Borini, Calhanoglu, Castillejo, Bakayoko etc. That team is full of average players, West Ham type of signings. He's had a monster season under Sarri and they apparently get along very well, I think chemistry plays a big part in life, not only in football and this could work.
