@Chelsea Legend 11 Wow, you took lessons from Mourinho. Creating an imaginary enemy only to have someone to fight for. Jose on Hazard : "But no matter, he is fantastic.“He’s getting stronger and stronger, not just in his body, but in his attitude. He’s mentally tough. He’s not the kind of boy who overreacts. After a bad tackle he never rolls and rolls like other players do. He doesn’t try and push referees to make certain decisions. Eden is not this guy. He’s loyal and honest, and gets lots of respect from opponents because of that.” "I would like more protection for him, but it’s beyond my control. “The only thing I can do is what I am doing and what Eden is doing, which is to work and work and work to be stronger and stronger. I don’t want to change his mentality or personality. I don’t want him crying or overreacting. I don’t want someone to touch his shoulder and he reacts by throwing his hands in his face like some players do. I want Eden to be what he is – absolutely fantastic. “Eden is coming with big status now and was voted one of the top ten players in Europe last year. In my opinion he should be in the top three not in the top ten. Let’s see what is going to happen but we have these people. But let’s say John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic are our captains and the others are ready to come. “On the pitch Eden leads. He is not afraid to take responsibility. He is not afraid to get the team in a dark situation and bring blue sky again for the team.” Jose basically said that Eden is captain without an armband ! That's how honest guy he is with fantastic personality and attitude. Yeah let's create an image of that little Belgian that our former manager LOVED. Hazard is doubt for tomorrow to play. It happens. He endured that assault by Stoke player last year and played six days later in the game against Southampton when he solely carried the team, basically he was the only non-crap player in that game, delivering sublime goal to get us out of trouble Questioning his attitude ? Give me a break.

Well, Chelsea youth team plays attractive, possession based football for 5-10 years now. They always want to play in style and are putting that thoughts ahead of the results as Academy director says. Chelsea board want the club to play certain way. They bought players for it. They failed delivering the right man though. But even Jose after he came back a huge chunk of his interview spend on saying how Chelsea has to play in certain way with youth coming through. I think we only needed an inspiration person to take us that one step further. For now we have to recover though. But you really can't say that Chelsea has no philosophy when youth team from U8 team to U21 plays the same way. U18 or U21 coaches say that they have no problem integrating upcoming players to the elder team as they are used to very much the same.

I would like Lucien Favre, he ticks every box of the manager we all want but he doesn't give me much security. We could be 6th in the league and that wouldn't surprise me. He doesn't have European pedigree either. That's a risk in my opinion. The dream is Pep, but after that there's Diego Simeone. Even though I may very well imagine that we play too rigid football sometimes (not that extreme like with Jose) he gives that security. I don't see falling with him into mediocrity if he will be backed in the summer (Koke and Griezmann )
-
And now Hazard is portrayed like a modern football celebrity with cuntish behaviour and lots and lots of pride ? And Mourinho said last season that Hazard is not from this times, he is from 30 years back, he is modest kid, who is settled with his family, who likes to listen and learn. What Mourinho does to our players. First Mata, now Hazard. We really don't realize how lucky we are to have Eden. I hope he kicks on this season finally.

I don't know why he wouldn't come back. Luis Aragones was manager of Atletico Madrid on 4 seperate occasions I think. If Chelsea will be in need of quick success after drought seasons and Jose will be rejected after his third season somewhere else there's every chance that roads will cross again. Besides it is such a healthy breakout this time that the path is clear for a comeback. You can only look how long it took Roman to make a decision even though last week he was so happy after Porto game that only 'objective circumstances' were responsible this time. The relationship between the two is good.
-
Two separate occasions you mean two sackings of Jose ? FFS, stop spouting this shit, I'm sorry but Roman is the one that brought Jose here for the first time, no Roman = no Jose, it was his idea and thanks to him we even had an opportunity to have this adventure with Jose. Be grateful.
-
Like a week ago he was all smiling after Porto game, remember ? I feel that he was pressed the last couple of days by 'objective circumstances'. I don't know, for me he seemed happy and enjoying his club, enjoying working with Jose but there was too much to loose maybe ? Someone talked him through and he realized in how deep shit we are ? It must have been VERY hard decision. Remember when Ancelotti was sacked minutes after Everton game, RDM straight after they came back from Turin, AVB, Scolari the very next day after the defeat and Jose first time around in the night after the Rosenborg game ? It looks like it was deep-thought, hard decision after a lot of conversation. He was hit by 'objective circumstances' as I said.

Then we can kiss goodbye to top football for some time until we decide to promote Boga at least. Hazard is elite talent, the only one in our squad. He's the one that I have trust still being around top of the game. I can't imagine what we will do if we sell him even for big bucks and try to replace him. We can easily fell into mediocrity. Go on and watch his highlights from PSG game, there should be somewhere on Youtube. He is unbelievable football player. If Hazard magically starts performing again he's not to blame IMO. Everyone see how we can't play a couple of fast passes together ?
-
Lol, I was checking that already before I came to this thread ! http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/atletico-madrid/leistungsdaten/verein/13 IMO this looks fine. Everyone is getting minutes. Maybe there should be more rotation in CB position but it is understandable that he doesn't want to rotate them too much if there's great partnership between the pair of Uruguayans.

Diego Simeone with Koke and Griezmann in package.
-
It was the last time I was expecting a message this season. There were few times already but I thought sitting beneath Newcastle and Bournemouth in the table will be final nail in the coffin. I'm surprised to be honest but now I believe this will last at least until the summer.
-
Thank you. I remember this quote but more in general. This though says things in the face value. Jose and our team was rocking when we scrapped wins against QPR, Stoke, Hull, Man Utd last season. And how absolutely joyful was everyone when we drew 0-0 against Arsenal. This message clearly didn't get through to the players. On the serious note, I think yes, that was an idea, initially, but things have changed I believe after loss to Sunderland in COC in December 2013 when Jose said that winning 1:0 is the easiest way in football and they may be forced to do this. Then we sold Mata and KdB, our two flair players, after first good offer.
-
Imagine not signing a central midfielder. The only mental breakdown I have yesterday was about our midfield. I really don't know how we can put Ramires just in there. We are going nuts. And last week we finished Porto game with Ramires and Mikel on the pitch. How is that even possible in 2015.
-
Gent vs Wolfsburg, FIXED !!! Nice draw. I hope that our approach will be different this time. Can't wait. BTW, if we pass 1/8 we can have easy ride to the semis (Gent vs Wolfsburg and Benfica vs Zenit).
-
I thought about this for a moment - Mou selling Yaya to bring someone from the Academy. WOW. It's literally impossible. Let alone Yaya, I think he wouldn't do that with Mikel. Mou is the kind of manager that preferred Khedira to Modric. Enough said ? He changed Mata position and threw him on the right to run like Moses. Oh and I forget that he gave Kevin De Bruyne total of 130 minutes in the Premier League, not fielding him in the league for 4 months (!!!) until he was sold. Yeah, let's waste our time about this again. About Ferguson, as far as I remember he wasted his time trying to bring through such talents like Macheda, Bebe, Cleverley and Welbeck. He actually tried though.
-
Typical "good" Oscar. He glues the lines but I think it only work efficiently and against anyone if we had Hazard, Reus and Aguero/Suarez in our side. 3 exceptional players to create something on their own. Therefore player like Oscar would be very handy. At the moment and for foreseeable future we need our no. 10 to be as creative and visionary as possible plus able to hold the ball under pressure.
-
1. Mitchy Batshuayi. 2. Joao Moutinho. That's only two names that comes to my mind who are gettable and no cup-tied. But I doubt we're going to buy either or anyone else mentioned here. As for midfielders, I agree it's the biggest area of weakness currently but we won't get solution this January unfortunately. Our best bet is recalling Pasalic from loan but doubt that will be the case. Buying Stones is next to impossible IMO and I really don't know how much he will cost if 35m+ was not enough last time with new TV deal come into place. I said this several times, I think we will go all out on Alex Teixeira but he's cup-tied.
-
I tell you while it's that. SIMPLE. People are expecting to beat Norwich, Bournemouth, Sunderland, Southampton etc. They take it for granted and if it doesn't happen then there's massive reaction. Who can blame them though ? I also expect Chelsea to beat them with such huge budget disproportion between those clubs and Chelsea. I don't know if you remember but even Mourinho said that before one game this season (Aston Villa, Norwich, Southampton, can't remember exactly) that with all due respect to them we're in diffrent category than them and we have more quality and simply we're better than them. It's not like people aren't happy when we're beating team on the same level than us. For example I remember this place was rocking when we beat Man City away in 2014 or knocked PSG out in the Champions League.
-
It's weird that he says goodbye to youth team while they still have a couple of games to play this year. And by the way, Charly must be the most glamorous footballer without playing a single game in professional football. All these photos with Pogba, Sterling, Hazard, Jorge Mendes plus interviews with the media like he would be already a superstar
-
He saved few shots that I doubt Begovic would save. But he begoviced that goal tbh. It's carbon copy of what Begovic did against Dynamo Kiev, look at this, it's identical !
-
Wow, there's only 38 games in the season ! We may struggle to hit that magic 40 points that should keep us up.
-
Just saw from Jose that our ambition is to finish in the top 6. Adding to that players we're interested in (Alex Teixeira, Lacazette, Ruben Neves) can't play in the Champions League but are perfectly capable of playing in the Europa League. You get a grip here. We should seize this opportunity that UEFA gives underachievers and try go for it and for Champions League next season. And for better players in the summer. But why we're hoping for some match-fixing. Porto will do us on the pitch fair and square.
-
Come on Jose, you're better than that. The things that he mentioned can happen every game. EVERY GAME. But he went 9 straight years (!!!) without losing a home game in the league DESPITE things mentioned above that certainly happened during that 150 game streak. And now he's talking like when any bit of hurdle occurs then you're dead, you lose home games for fun because you had bad luck or something didn't go your way. How can one man sometime ago went with such a record when he's so vulnerable to everything ? He really doesn't listen to himself.
-
Why can't we forfeit this match and give ourself a chance of playing the Champions League next season ? Relegate to Europa League and then focus entirely on this competition. By the way, the players that we can buy in January would be eligible to play there.
-
What the hell is this ? They made Boga loan on the last day making it look everything like a panic move then they are not happy that he's not playing more. Hmmm Anyway they should cancel his loan not by this as he's coming on in every game but the environment is poor. Rennes doesn't play good football and Boga is the kind of player that he should play with players on his wavelength who likes to play combination and a lot of passing. From what I've seen they like to ping long ball forward and has players who play with too much dribbling with poor decision making.
