He was terrible, no runs in behind, never attacked the central spaces, was constantly staying wide and providing us with no presence in the center. And on top of all this he refused to shoot every time he had a chance. It's getting annoying now. Lampard doesn't know what to do with him

I think I have to revise my previous criticism of him. He may be playing this badly because for the first time in his career, he is playing under a manager that is not tactically astute. So he is playing on freestyle with no direction. Hopefully he has a bright future here

The tactics is just so baffling. You would have thought we would play compact, cover spaces and hit a Guardiola team who hold a lot of possession on the counter. But instead we are passing between Silva and Zouma aimlessly then we are being hit on the counter instead Is this not tactical naivety of the highest order? Even Ole will play on the counter and get rashford/martial running in behind. Then when we finally manage to bypass the pressing of city, we are crossing into the box throughout. No passes in between the lines, no through balls to runners, no single linkup play. We are now an average club and it's sad to see.

I hope Lampard can finally beat a team in the top 10. This idea of only beating teams we are by far better than (quality wise) in the bottom half of the table is not sustainable.

Apart from the obvious Ziyech over reliance and Werner corrondum, the lack of a Lampard type of player in our midfield has come as a shocker to me, given Lampards experience and knowledge in how important goalscoring midfielders making late runs into the box are in a team. Instead Kai Havertz who was supposed to play this role has been relegated to passing to James to put in crosses into the team.

Honestly the way we are playing, we might as well hire Sean Dyche of Burnley because he is an expert in organizing a team that crosses to his strikers, and he'll have better players in Chelsea.

Lampard's whole tactics seems to be switch to the fullbacks and cross it into the box. That's why he cant bench Abraham/Giroud to play Werner through the middle, because Lampards tactics is to cross only (David Moyes Style) and hope something happens so he needs a tall striker there. He can't play attacking football like Klopp, Guardiola and Brenden rodgers who use smaller strikers, No single link up plays through the middle, no one twos, no dribbles through the centre, just pass between our centrebacks, switch to the fullbacks, cross into the box and hope someone gets there The moment Ziyech got injured (our only player that can play through the middle) and James started playing with an injury (our best crosser) Lampard's true tactical naivety has been exposed.

Lampard simply does not know how to use him. Werner has been poor recently but it's on Lampard. Werner is a 30-35 goal striker for 3 years now. I agree with everything you say about the huge influence social media has on our world today, which is scary. But I completely disagree that it favors the right..... Not a chance. The left is the highest beneficiary of the social media, so much that in fact, I think it will be so difficult for a republican to win presidency in America if they don't move a little more to the left.

Havertz is clearly more of a runner/finisher than creator. We have to create chances for him to finish off. When I saw his stats for the past few seasons never having above 10-15 assists in any season, I felt something was not right to tag him as a creative player. But he has great movement and good finishing so we have to hope Ziyech is fit to create for Havertz right now.
