I doubt it's a complete piss take. It might have been a light-hearted remark (an odd one), but it bears some truth imo. Even if he hadn't said that, I would still maintain that since he's fallen off a cliff he's looked too nervous and shaky. Can't have that in a CB aspiring to start for a top club. All our best CBs have been ones who just don't give a fuck.

Lol wtf... Whether Sarri should have said that or not is one thing (probably shouldn't have, will destroy AC's confidence even more), but this also shows why I've been thinking he isn't cut for it. He seems too weak and soft mentally and physically to be a truly class CB. It's one thing for a striker to crumble after making a mistake, but it's another thing for a CB to lose his shit when something goes wrong. You can go for at least 0-0 with a shit striker, but not with a CB who questions his every decision. CB simply can't be a snowflake in the EPL.

Infuriatingly pathetic to read that there is even anything to consider. I bet they are including Drinkwater and perhaps even Bakayoko in this consideration, when they should have been already sold and not even bought in the first place. Down the mediocrity drain we go.

Think it was a 2 year loan at Milan, Atleti bought him for good. Or did Milan buy him from us?
-
Atletico doing us another solid. First Torres, then Costa, now Morata... superb club.
-
I can understand that because we're buying and not loaning him, but his impact will be smaller than Higuain's. His position is already well covered with Jorginho and he will be mainly keeping the bench warm for him, while Higuain will slot straight into our XI and will offer something that nobody has offered this season. In terms of instant impact Higuain excites me more.

I'm optimistic that next season will be much better if we keep at it. Sarri having full pre-season with the whole squad, board doing some more good moves in the market and we will be in a much better situation than we were last summer or this season in general.
-
This is also a clear sign of the board listening to and backing Sarri. Jorginho, Kepa, now Higuain and soon Pulisic (hey they asked his opionion ). Could be worse, especially the first two were nice surprises. If we also got Paredes that would make it 5 already. We're slowly getting in players for his style, I think if this continues, then it's worth to have some patience and wait and see how it plays out with Sarri once we have some more new players in. I also think we can now ease a bit with our criticism of the board not backing him, actions are speaking otherwise. We will still need to revisit the striker situation this summer though, Higuain and Giroud are not sustainable for another full season, we will need to go in big for someone.

I read that it is an option to extend for 12 months, but will become obligatory when some conditions are met (goals, appearances and such). Gives him some extra incentive to perform quickly.
-
If that's true then that's an incredibly smart deal. 6 month loan, possiblity to extend if he doesn't suck, option to buy. Perfect.

I'm not a chemist so I don't know about that What transfers has that reporter gotten right before?

Haven't seen that post, need some context here..

How reliable?

We also use newspaper talk when it fits our arguments. When it doesn't, we dismiss it. I've been here long enough to know that's exactly how it works. I've seen it hundreds of times people treating as facts articles/tweets that fit their thinking, but dismiss everything that contradicts it. Nothing new here, human psychology at work. Who would I spend that £35m on? I don't know, but it adds enough finances to buy a proper replacement. I don't trust our board to do it, but it is a good offer for a wantaway unproven youngster. Provided he wants to leave of course, then grab it and run and hope he flops miserably.
-
I enjoy reading @MUTU's arguments and opinions much more than the posts belittling him. We don't like Bayern snooping in our business, I get that, but it's not his fault if CHO actually wants to leave. Us getting the reported £35-40m for him would be good considering he's just a potential and has done fuck all to justify a price tag for which we got Kante for.
-
Yeah, agree with the first part, but that doesn't change that BM's lure might be big enough to turn his head. Don't agree with the last part, that wouldn't benefit anybody and would be pettily spiteful... If he wants to leave, then it would benefit us more to get as much money as possible for him.
-
Here comes Bayern Munich telling Callum they are fully convinced of his abilities. Meanwhile his boyhood club had been saying he wasn't ready and was forced to watch a washed up emoji warrior miscontrol the ball until the club was forced to insincerely change their rhetoric. I'm not at all surprised if CHO's head's turned.
-
Who the fuck is Rogerio? Would he be good enough to bench Alonso and improve our starting XI?
-
Yeah, Real Madrid probably don't want the trouble of trying to get him in January, our board will never agree to that. I think the club is willing to risk getting a lower fee in the summer and they know it will be lower, but they also know the ramifications of not finishing top 4 would be much more severe, and without Hazard we can essentially kiss top 4 goodbye. The remaining time the club will be trying to convince him to stay, so what they gotta do first is get a competent striker... Hazard is probably counting days till summer playing false nine. I'm not sure that Higuain is the right player to prove our ambitions, but for the remainder of the season it would be better than nothing. The hope is maybe that we will start playing much better with him and Eden will love it. I think we will fail in persuading him and Real will come in with some low-ball offers at first, we will reject them and so on and so forth, until we are finally forced to accept something. Real will be under pressure to buy themselves out of this state they find themselves in and Hazard is probably the cheapest top quality option available. It also doesn't help that Hazard himself gives subliminal "come get me" pleas each chance he gets, you can be sure as shit they have taken note.

Don't kid yourself, in the same game he also missed a sitter. You could see his soul leave his body when it happened, he's become unrecoverable like Torres was confidence-wise. Also his lack of celebration was reportedly a hissy fit towards Zola's comments... Who the fuck is he to diss one of our greatest like that? Has he earned the right to act like this with his performances? No he hasn't and I'm actually glad Sarri has shunned him cold turkey.

I've always viewed Petr as a Lampard of goalkeepers. Meaning they probably weren't the most talented or technically gifted, but their hard work, grit, determination and mainly intelligence got them to the very top. Him and JT almost died playing for Chelsea, there isn't a single greater thing a player can do for the club... Not to mention the heroics of Munich among others. He is forever etched in the same pinnacle legendary status together with Lampard, JT and Drogba... they were the only constant driving forces from beginning to the end of our most successful era ever. Managers came and went, teammates came and went, yet we still maintained that winning spirit for a decade no matter what, all thanks to them.

Immortalized in the history of our football club.

Ah, the mandatory jet picture... couldn't do without it.

This would normally fall to the DOF perhaps, but in our case I think this decision might be a compromise or a consensus between the board, head scout and head coach. Roman, in this day and age, I feel is more of a rubber stamp than an active participator in our transfers like he was in the beginning. I don't have much to base this opinion on, other than looking at the current political climate and thinking he probably has bigger worries on his mind.
