I don't care what he did in Napoli and our board has proven to be clueless time and time again. I now see the reality of who he is and I don't like it. I knew he got Napoli playing some delicious stuff, but had no idea he was so stubborn... I also can't see such a one-dimensional manager winning anything meaningful. It's all tease and no cumshot with him.

The only question is Kova for Barkley or Barkley for Kova. I think Barkley will take this one and Kovacic will get nice ~20 mins.

I get what you're saying, this is something I'd been saying until recently and in general it is true. But you just have to look at what Sarri is and isn't doing and it becomes clear that he doesn't have what it takes to lead us to success. You have a winger (CHO) and a striker (Giroud) on the bench, yet he brings on a defender for a defender in a competition you're about to crash out from, nothing to lose anymore - all to win. Defender for a defender, fuck's sake. It's not an isolated case either, his game management has been shit all season when things get tough, but that one just took the cake. Predictability? The easiest manager to plan against, you know every single time how and who he will play and what his subs will be. Defeatist comments in pressers? I'd rather take "suffering" than somebody who flat out admits he's got no idea. If he showed some reactions and some signs that he knows what he's doing and changing things up while maintaining his core philosophy and improving the team (the infamous Pep and Klopp comparisons, but they at least tried different things until they got where they wanted)... but it's not been like that! No reaction, no nothing. Aurelio De Laurentiis had a point about him.

I don't think they necessarily pushed for exclusively defensive players. Conte wanted Sandro to replace Alonso for example. It's just that the board bought shit and that lack of quality forced Conte to play defensively.

I miss Conte and almost shed a tear reading your post. I know his last half a season was a disaster, but you never lost the feeling that a motivated Conte was a winner. He lost hope with the board and loss of hope breaks a man's spirit, like it has broken ours time and time again. The drive and passion he had before he got fucked... I mean he's a winner and a passionate man, but all he encountered were clueless business people running a company not a football club. All our managers have found working with this board is impossible. I have superficial hope, but deep down I know nothing will change. It's been years, I was still in high school when this slow but consistent decline began with warning signs everywhere chosen to be ignored. I'm thinking now that the board telling Sarri that CHO "probably" won't leave in the summer either, means they have told CHO to wait because there is a good chance Sarri won't be here for the next season. Agreed, I've been wondering this since the whole shit started. It kinda makes sense to shift Kante there to provide some balance (one side too attacking, the other too defensive), but it seems Sarri is hell-bent on mirroring the formation he used at Napoli and forces players into those positions.

Nah the real reason why CHO wasn't subbed on is because he already subbed on Willian for Pedro, and he wouldn't take off Hazard at 2-0 down. He makes only like-for-like subs so that's wingers off the table, and after taking off Kovacic for the more attacking Barkley, the only other more attacking like-for-like sub left was Zappacosta for Azpi.

Well the quality of those balls matter the most. I'm really worried now, he comes off as delusional recently and we have become unbelievably predictable The squad must be just as bemused and it shows.

If this is true, then I want them all gone! There isn't a single manager they would accept... Drove out Mourinho, Conte and now Sarri. All very different from each other. The reason they eventually start disliking everyone is because they SUCK and stop playing as soon as they are tired or become too complacent. Their egos don't allow them to think they suck because "they're former champions" or whatever, so they are in denial pointing at the manager. Not a single manager in the world would make this group of dumbfucks work in unison. If it was up to me, I'd only keep Kepa, Azpi, Rüdiger, CHO and Kante... the rest can fuck off, including Eden "I don't care what the manager says I'ma keep sucking Real's dick" Hazard.
