The lack of Maatsen game time talk and following as if hes a top player on here is mental. If Cucurella was playing as he is now last season nobody would be giving a shit about Maatsen and would of wanted him sold. Playing well in the championship for a team who are now playing absolutely pathetically in the PL says it all. Not good enough and should of pushed him out the door.

Jackson couldn’t score if he fell into a barrel of fannies. Fucking hopeless.
-
We will. Because we are that desperate. Look at every other signing we’ve made under Boehly & co.
-
Good god. What the fuck are these idiots thinking.
-
Seems to be the common theme on here. Usually 1 or 2 major injuries and folk go OTT player X Y or Z are finished. Then they usually suggest signing players with genuine poor injury records. Then they deny/change their minds having said X Y or Z are finished before same happens again and its rinse, repeat.

We spent £100m plus on Caicedo and Fernandez. Basically £80m on Mudryk. £55m on Lavia. We will pay it. Don’t kid on we will walkaway. We are far too stupid to do so. And we desperately need a CF.
-
Tough run coming up after Blackburn game, if he doesn’t get results & performances I think he will be out the door by the new year. Genuinely haven’t seen anywhere near enough or anything resembling any progress- whilst I agree it is not just his fault, as players have been poor and areas we need again neglected for anyone under the age of 23 with potential - he will be the first one thrown to the Wolves by this absolute circus that is the footballing department and ownership model.

The French Antony. Just good at dribbling thats it. Avoid.

Lavia could turn out good but it really should of been either him or Caicedo considering we had already signed Ugo and prioritise looking towards a creative midfielder or goal scoring CF. 3 similarly profiled, less than creative DMs was overkill. I mean he’s had 1 PL season at Southampton where they were awful also so I am still not entirely sure he’s going to be the player many expect either, I mean he had a good game against us which I think most people are using as the barometer for as to why he is a very good player (for example Torres did this before we signed him, Benayoun did this, Meireles did this). I mean people were suggesting we would play a MF 3 of Enzo, Caicedo & Lavia and it would be one of the best in the PL but honestly can’t see it. I mean when we signed Felix on loan, Mudryk and Madueke in the same window when we were already stacked with attacking players, I didn’t think it would happen again. Then we did it with the MFers. I mean people also are right to use Ange and his start at Spurs in comparison to Poch here. Nobody expected anything from Ange before the Kane sale, never mind after & a lot of people expected more from Poch but the results, performances and trajectory have been the complete opposite. Yes can they sustain it will be a question but as I said beforehand once he got started at Celtic, they didn’t really let up. Do I expect them to win the league? No obviously not due to City, Liverpool and even Arsenal having a mix of either better players or experience of going for trophies but I don’t think they will fall away as badly as some people expect.
-
Needs to do more. Has shown good moments also and whilst the price tags always going to be there, for me he never was and may never be worth the money we paid. I think the Kante comparisons have to stop also, nowhere near the level and may never be.

Killed our entire season? Oh fuck off with that pish 🤣 Sanchez not good enough to be number 1 for what we should be aiming to achieve yes but to say he killed our season, what 10 games in? When we have been pretty pish so far is absolutely typical OTT lets find a scapegoat and tip toe around the real issues. Our recruitment (or lack of recruitment for the positions we desperately need quality in) has been piss poor since Boehly let those 2 idiots from Brighton and Monaco dig their claws in but people had a hard on because Caicedo (who was pretty poor today) and Lavia (when is he going to play?) joined here and not Liverpool - whilst they signed two creative type midfielders who can play deeper, the type we could of done with today to bring a spark to the game. And Poch isn’t a miracle worker. You give him over £300m worth of central midfield players and there isn’t any goals or really someone who offers creativity in the final third between them but choose to moan about a GK after watching us pass the ball backwards and sideways without really penetrating through the lines consistently? Ridiculous take. There is no point even talking about the lack of a really good number 9 because it has been an issue since Diego Costa left.
-
Regardless he isn’t good enough. Its that simple. A very good number 2 yes but never an elite level number 1. Just like Raya.
-
The results are papering over the cracks. I think 2 or 3 bad results on top of going out of the CL (looks very likely) will crank the pressure up on EtH. They are so poor at breaking reams down without counter attacking. And he has been given the players he has wanted, if they don’t get top 4 again this season, with the new ownership, I wouldn’t be surprised if they change.
-
Watching the United game, honestly wouldn’t be surprised if ten Haag is out the door by the end of the season they’re shocking. Copenhagen look much better in possession than them.
-
Pocketed Saka. Played with a real aggression and energy that he hasn’t really done bar the Dortmund game IIRC.
-
So no booking on Rice and Saka for bookable offences?
-
Not sure what you were watching before the goal or that but our best moments so far have been in terms of battling, duels, transitions etc as opposed to controlling the game through possession. And there’s again, more evidence of it.
-
Harsh or not, its a blatant penalty. The one Arsenal got against Spuds for handball on Romero was much much worse in terms of how he was positioned etc so if they kick up a fuss, can always point to that and say well what do you expect?
-
Dont let Enzo take it fuck sake. Nvm Palmer, 1-0, good start
-
Gallagher setting the tone so far. What an improvement in him under Poch.
-
Just shows you, not very often anyone leaves here and goes on to have an exceptional career (Salah and de Bruyne aside). Shame he’s finished early but he will be comfortable in life. If he doesn’t feel the need to continue or want to why not?

I was in Glasgow for college when Lennon wouldn’t resign after they didn’t get the fabled 10 in a row. Fuck me it was crazy, like every week until he resigned there was protests etc. Then have went to 3 games with a few mates under Big Ange and the atmosphere at Celtic Park was something else. Like polar opposite from what it was previously with Lennon. Proper football though, the passion for the Old Firm is next to unrivalled, well maybe the Italians and Germans are on a similar par to a degree but its a lot more football than “tourism” which unfortunately the PL has become - which again is mainly due to the huge spectacle of it, these teams and how far their fan bases reach. Being Scottish its a shame to think that the financial gap between Scotland and England in terms of TV deals etc is so large because I think some of these clubs with a bit more cash flow injection could definitely up their levels a bit. Lot of young Scots who have and will go on to have good careers. Or guys who play there for a stepping stone. The sectarianism is a shame as it hugely clouds what should be an intense, passionate game of football. Religion being used as a stick to beat a certain group with has no place in football. Same with racism and all the other things.

I think City have got it in them to go on a 9, 10, 11, 12 game run again when it really matters. They haven’t started well for many reasons but yeah, still rate their chances higher than Arsenal. Plus Haaland is going to do his usual and go on a big run at some point, de Bruyne when he comes back gives them exceptional quality in the final third. I think Spurs shouldn’t be underestimated. Yes there is the whole Spursy thing but I’ve always like what Big Ange is about and how he comes across. I can remember when he went to Celtic nobody knew him, people were even laughing at his appointment in Scotland and after a tricky start, doubts remained but he showed lot of resilience and character whilst sticking to his principles. At a club where the scrutiny and fan pressure is absolutely massive, go to Glasgow and see what the fans think when Celtic aren’t winning games - it’s frightening. I mean you think its bad down the road, it is absolutely crazy in Glasgow. Whole appointment turned out pretty exceptionally in terms of how Celtic went from absolutely falling off a cliff, needing to completely restructure upstairs in terms of management and reshape their squad to playing arguably some of the best football in terms of style, goals, clean sheets over that period without a doubt. If he manages to get that sort of character and resilience into Spurs over a prolonged period, they will definitely be in the top 4. Some of the football they are playing, the goals they are scoring without Harry Kane, I don’t think many expected it. Even the Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd games - big moments and phases of the game went well beyond them but unlike where they would of capitulated, they managed to see it out and then flipped those games on their heads with moments of quality. Still early days yet but Mourinho and Conte’s Spurs would of shit the bed in most of those moments. I genuinely am concerned that if we don’t start going on a run the next batch of games, that we will end up with a huge gap already with certain teams and won’t claw it back. And I am afraid that we still don’t have enough proven quality or cohesion with the starting 11 to guarantee that we can go on such a run that the likes of Spurs or Arsenal are on/City or Liverpool can do. Also thats without mentioning the likes of Villa, Brighton, West Ham and Newcastle yet.

Still got a lot of mistakes in them, City were very very poor by their standards. But how Arsenal nearly won a title with Zinchenko playing every week at LB is mind blowing. Never seen someone who looks so likely to give the ball away in his own half so much when pressed, he’s good technically and suits that inverted fullback role at times but he also can be so sloppy. Raya didn’t look very confident either and they kept passing the ball back to him every 15 passes. They will always bring intensity and not surprised when you’ve got that jumped up prick Arteta on the sidelines, he’s about 5000 times more animated than Conte was, guy needs to lay off it a bit. He would be a much better manager for it. Taking the emotional side of things out of the game is going to be their downfall with Arteta. He gets too caught up in the moment. Teams look to their managers for inspiration and a bit of guidance not gonna get it with him marching about at 200mph to contest stupid small decisions like a throw in or corner. You could see they cracked under pressure too last season. Everyone says they ran out of steam but for me they cracked. Yea they maybe got a but of fatigue but their too emotional as a team and needed a coach who’s influence could calm and steady the ship a bit. Pains me to say it but Spurs been best team so far. Still may concede chances but their ability to bounce back from bad moments and Ange Postecoglu as a whole (big fan of what he did in up in Glasgow in terms of rebuilding and transforming the mood at Celtic), think the way they’ve started and against who they’ve played. They couldn’t have asked for a better start.

Picking through a Man City forum after arguably his first and only very poor game for City is very suspect, has been very good barring today by all accounts. Even reading that page, maybe 3 bad comments. Hardly priceless…. just makes you look like a bit of a plonker if I’m honest 😂
