Completely agree... The 'old' Jose was more entertaining, definitely, but I for one am glad with this calmer approach he seems to be taking. And I loved the things he said about wanting more stability, etc in his life now, and saying that he was neither ready nor keen on staying here for a long time when he arrived in 2004.

First, the deal is already done and just waiting for confirmation; then, the deal is not done yet as it is dependent on what happens to KDB; next, the deal is going to be done soon as Jose is keen to sign him; and finally, chelsea are ready to pull out of the deal. lmao I bet none of these papers have a clue as to what is actually going on

Agree wholeheartedly. Just want to say this once and get it off my chest, but it truly makes me laugh whenever people say things like "thanks Fernando for winning that corner in Munich". I mean... are we being serious here? I understand that it was the corner that led to the equaliser, but come on! If we're "thanking" players for little things like that then we should erect statues for what the likes Cole, Cech, Drogba, Lamps and loadsa other players did, even Kalou Malouda and co. All those goal-line clearances by Cole? The last-ditch tackles by Cahill? The unbelievable saves by Cech? Now I'm not saying he played no part in our CL win. And I think he did ok this past season considering how absolutely awful he was when he first arrived and taking into account the pace he has lost and whatever. But seriously the abuse we have given players like Kalou, Mikel, etc and even Drogba over the past few years is shameful considering how we've put up with this guy. It is absolutely awful and cringe-worthy. Jason Cundy is THE WORST. Can't believe they didn't use the Martin Tyler / Gary Neville Sky commentary for last season's CL final.

That's the difference between him and Malouda for me, in terms of attitude and professionalism. Everyone actually respects him. I'm sure he helps out a lot behind the scenes with the young players and the foreign lads. Never complained or had a bad word to say about anyone. Did a thoroughly professional job on the pitch whenever asked. Genuine, top class guy. Thanks for everything Paulo!
