Jose exclaiming so openly that he is still looking for another striker just says it all. Whether he is picked against big sides isn't really a big deal. Lukaku is still very raw IMO and Ba is an average striker. So it should not be a point of surprise or celebration if he is indeed picked against Utd, etc. He is the "safest" option amongst the three because he links up decently well with other players and obviously, is a much more experienced player. But in general, he simply doesn't do his job which is to score goals. We have so many creative players who are there for the link-up play. We need a better finisher and someone with the hunger to desperately go chase after goals.

We'd be on a whole new level if we had a better striker. Torres wasn't awful yesterday but he doesn't contribute to our attacks very much at all IMO. Did anybody get the broadcast with Les Ferdinand, Alan Curbishley and Andy Townsend as pundits? They specifically focused on his movement and showed how he's consistently staying out of hte 18 yard box, and instead stays stagnant near the edge of the penalty box, even though we have the likes of Oscar, Hazard, De Bruyne, Lampard etc who operate in that area. If we had someone who's regularly charging forward towards the goal, those players would have more options for passes and also more space for themselves. And this isn't new, he's been like this from the beginning. It's laughable to look at his movement and then compare it to Oscar, Mata, etc who are constantly finding new positions to exploit space and provide options for team-mates. They come towards the ball to get involved, after receiving it they pass it to a team-mate and then are immediately on the move again.

I still think this will happen. IMO Jose wouldn't have talked about the potential transfer so bluntly if he felt Utd wouldn't sell in any circumstances. But Rooney definitely needs to push the move through. Hope you stay mate, I enjoy your more unbiased view of things.

Very much a decent performance by him on Wednesday, but I'm not getting carried away as I still remember what happened in 2010! He would be a good squad player for us this season, but nothing more IMO

Personally, I would really like for us to sign him as I believe he would do well under Jose, but if it happens I hope we don't give him a contract of more than 3 years and/or include heavy performance-based bonuses instead of high wages in the final year(s) of the contract. It's not like he had a choice though by the looks of things... Napoli are basically "forcing" him out to milk him for his value. He is 26, his value is only going to go down from here on. This was their last chance to sell him for this much $$$. And PSG have a decent project going. But still I'm confident that if he had a legitimate choice between us and them, he would have chosen to come here.

Turnbull is/was terrible though and doesn't have to be the end of the argument with regards to Ruddy. There are plenty of very good back-up goalkeepers available in the market right now either on a free or for 1-2 mil who would definitely do a job. The back-up will play a maximum of 10 games, most coming in the League Cup etc, barring anything catastrophic to Cech of course. No reason why we need to get Ruddy IMO

Me too guys! I absolutely love the show haha. Ive seen all seasons twice But tbh I've disliked the last 10 seasons or so, especially after they introduced Russell, because it all became about how evil he is etc rather than focusing on the strategy of the show. I'm such a sucker for good strategic players. Hate it when they spend the entire episode showing 'drama' like what happened this past season with Brandon, Phillip etc. When they do stuff like that, it makes it easier to criticize the show, when at its core it's truly a brilliant concept about strategy and game theory.

It's so amazing to me that he is not even 22 yet. What a player!!
