  1. Does anyone know when the winner(s) will be announced?
  2. If anything Mikel's the most UNDERRATED player on the Chelsea roster.
  3. Good news! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19101746
  4. This is really difficult. Bremen are playing with a 4-4-2-diamond formation, normally. So if they keep this system it's likely that KDB will play as their CAM because Elia and Hunt will be on the wings, with Arnautovic and Petersen up front. BUT this selection seems too offensive minded which could lead to changing the system to 4-3-3. If that happens KDB could play alongside Bargfrede and Junuzovic/Ignjovski in the midfield with Elia, Hunt and Arnautovic in front of them. Really difficult to predict where KDB will play, but we don't need to worry about KDB getting playing time. The squad Werder have got this year is really weak and it's not odd to claim that De Bruyne is already one of the top players on the roster.
  5. Yep, at least we would have someone who is made for that position as a DLP. Plus it would give us time to sort things out and see if we can start converting Oscar (dunno if that's the real plan?!) or look out for other options. Either way it would help us a lot, with and without a buy clause!
  6. The summer he went to Real I really wanted us to try signing him. He was the best midfielder in the Bundesliga back then and at 10m he would have been a bargain, if we signed him! Why not try to get him now as the writer states in the article? A loan move and maybe a buy clause set at about 18-20m?
  7. Could you change my name to "Amels", please?
  8. Here you go lads http://dailygoalz.com/daniel-sturridge-goal-great-britain-vs-uruguay-1-0-london-2012/
  9. Good read, Peace. The biggest problem I see, and I have been saying this for more than 1,5 years now, is our midfield where we desperately need new QUALITY players. Back in 2008 (when we had the strongest midfield I can think of, with the likes of Ballack, Lampard, Essien, Makelele, Mikel) we were an absolute force in this area and I fully believe that this is the standard we should be looking for in future. Three of those midfielders from 2008 were in their prime, one was at the end of his career but still one of the top players in his position and the last one was a very promising talent. Now we've got Mikel (who's 1-2 years away from his prime), Lampard (who will just get worse), Essien (who should be sold ASAP), Meireles (squad player, nothing more), Ramires (who is very limited in regards of his position and technical abilities, thus it's very difficult to use him correctly) and Romeu and McEachran (two very talented players but their futures here are in doubt). So, we don't have ANY world class midfielder whereas we had 4 of them just 4 years ago. I know this is past, and I also know (like Term X once said) we should have strengthened our team when we were on top of our game, my only intention was to show up how crucial our situation is, as many Chelsea fans still think our midfield is good enough. I really did expect us to look for a world class midfielder to buy this summer but when I saw that we were after Oscar I was, tbh, shocked. I know 90% of all users will go mad at me because I said this but let me clear things up before you start with your rage: I like him as a player but I don't like this transfer as Oscar doesn't fill our team biggest need. Instead of signing a world class player we signed another project who could turn out to be world class, but only in a couple of years, and is a CAM or RW. We have been witnessing the lack of creativity from our midfield for 1,5-2 year now, and we still haven't solved this problem. I can't see us doing better in this upcoming season because we haven't done ANYTHING to get better in this area of the game. You could say we'll become even worse as players don't get younger. Thinking of our double pivot I have read a lot of times that people expect Oscar to play alongside Mikel and therefore take over from Lamps. It's not that I highly doubt this, I know for sure that it won't happen this season. We’re talking about the most important position in the modern football game, so how on earth can anyone think that a lad, who has to bulk up extremely, get used to a new country/culture/lifestyle and league, learn how defend and to play in a new position, will be our messiahs?! I’d like to go on, but I’m tired now. Maybe tomorrow. I just want to say a last thing: Our squad is far from being balanced (like Peace. already pointed out) and IMO it’s our midfield where our biggest concerns lay. Whereas strikers can be influenced by the rest of the team and jump on the bandwagon during the season and start scoring like crazy, the midfield is the part of the team where everything starts, every attack, every defensive effort.
  10. As far as I know, he would have been the first one ever. Think I read that somewhere, not 100% sure tho.
  11. "Now no one can say nothing to me. This is the reason I came here." - Ashley Cole, post CL final. He won't go anywhere.
  12. Torres won't be able to play 60 games a season, will he?! If Lukaku goes on loan, we'll need to sign another striker! What if Danny or Torres get injured, or both of them? Who will we play then? It's vital to buy another striker. Period. I see. I'm running out of options...
  13. What's up next that harms his confidence? Maybe wearing the wrongs socks on Mondays? If Torres can't stand the pressure of having another player at the club who wants to play he can fuck off and become a chess professional instead of playing competitive football. This is Chelsea, not fucking Liverpool where he's the only striker! Rondon could be an option as our third striker, but I think we'd be better off with someone like Ba (he didn't move to Turkey, did he?).
  14. He's good on the line as he has got nice reflexes, but his composure in the box is below average, and, at times, more than shocking. Tho, he can pull off a good save from time to time which gives your team momentum, but aside from this I don't think that he has anything to offer that would differ him from any other back-up gk.
  15. Our youth policy before Roman took over hasn't been good either. It's not completely the managers' fault, that would be too easy to say. There have been many factors which caused our youth problems in the last few years, such as changing management almost every season, not enough talent/potential, English youth system in general etc. The first step will be a coach (RDM!) who stays for more than one or two seasons here. With the changes coming I can see a good chance for our youths to break through and make the first team in a couple of years. Not all of the will, but if we can get some of them involved, it will be a success.
  16. I'd keep Sturridge as a back-up for Torres, and if the Spaniard doesn't show up play Danny as the main striker. But we still need another experienced striker to be our third choice guy. Though, I don't know who we should target.
  17. The FA is acting like a pubescent youth... tragicomedy at its best.
  18. Don't like the third kit. It's like this year's Nike ones - too much and too overloaded.
  19. Calling Cristiano Ronaldo the "true Ronaldo" is blasphemy to the the one and only Ronaldo
  20. Agree with the ones who said we should sell him if we receive a good offer. Essien hasn't played that many games for us in the last season, about 10 if my memory serves me well. So, how difficult is it to replace such a player? We're not talking about the Matas and Cechs, we're talking about a guy who is a role player at best (due to his injuries, to be fair). In his prime he was maybe the best midfielder in the world, but we all know that's past. He's earning too much for a squad player and he is not good enough to be a starter. Keeping him will just hinder us buying a younger, more cost-efficient player who can give us a few more years of his best performances whereas Ess is on the on the skids. This all may sound harsh, but it's the reality. We've already offloaded players like Bosingwa to start a new era, so why not offload Essien too?! For the club's sake, we have to move on.
  21. So, just because he's getting more money paid than you, you're allowed to post shit?! Seems legit...
