Gvardiol to replace Rüdiger as the left sided CB and Koundé to replace AC at right sided CB sounds good to me. Gvardiol in particular looks very, very impressive on YouTube occupying those same areas on the pitch as Toni and making similar forward runs. But that would probably be a combined £100m for those two alone before even addressing other areas of the team that desperately need upgrading. And even with those two brought in we’d still be short at the middle CB position. Depending on 38 year old Silva for a whole grueling season is asking for trouble. I suppose it’s possible Tuchel gives Colwill a chance and throws him straight into the deep end? Would save us a shed load of cash.

Even then they may want to put on a show for their fans for the final time.

How does Reece James go from looking like the best and most dangerous player on the pitch for 90 minutes against United to what we saw today? Where he just strolled around nonchalantly the entire game and didn’t run the channel at all? How does Mason Mount go from getting on the ball repeatedly in dangerous areas in the first half here to being completely invisible and barely having a touch second half? How do we have a £90m striker on the bench who is great against physical rugby tactics and not give him minutes? Despite Havertz getting the shit kicked out of him all match? Disgusting.

For months there it was the top 2 on their own tier and then us in 3rd looking miles better than the others behind chasing. Now because this bunch of choking dogs in our ranks we look every bit as shit and inconsistent as Arse, Spuds, and United. Anything less than a 3rd place finish from where we’ve been all season is a disgrace that should be punished brutally in the summer. Get rid of as many of these useless players as we can.

Another thing that’s annoying with our attacking players is how unconvincing they are when we have numerous lightning counter attacks. We’ll burst forward and look awesome but then when it gets passed to Kai or Timo the attack dies instantly.

Yeah, I’m just saying in general. This has been a pattern for us going back years and under several managers now. When a vastly inferior opponent, no matter their form, simply ups their intensity and presses we cannot deal with it. Players with poor first touch, players not switched in to danger, dwelling on the ball instead of playing it quickly. When the hell can we have a team that doesn’t struggle mightily ahi as t this sort of team? Because literally any small team can deploy these tactics and be highly effective against us.

When City and Liverpool face a team like this who are aggressive and man mark like crazy they pop it around quickly and rip them apart. What do we do? We play zombie ball, walk around passing it back and forth between the defenders, and lose the ball easily whenever pressed. May as well just throw on Lukaku and let him battle and wrestle with these Everton thugs. Maybe he’ll scrap a goal in. And btw, Yerry Mina is a disgrace of a player. Massive CB who throws himself to ground with any contact and is always desperately trying to con the ref into booking opponents.
