Jorginho having an absolute fucking mare here. Now we’ll be truly rattled.
-
Chalobah skinned again. In the exact same spot as he did against Newcastle. We’re desperate for a new CB there.
-
Christensen is soft as Charmin. Always has been. Thisbright here is why I’m glad that he’s going and will hopefully be upgraded on in the summer. He gets injured CONSTANTLY.
-
Nearly every time Jorginho is pressed aggressively he loses it. Needs to wake the hell up to what’s around him when he receives the ball, ffs.
-
We have 3 world class midfielders in there and are still struggling with the press… 😒
-
Of course in a match we actually want Liverpool to win to benefit ourselves, their best player isn’t fit to start. 😒 Watch Arse win now. 🙄
-
Kante, Kova, AND Jorgi. I love it. That midfield should really ensure we control this match. Tuchel will surely have drilled it into the players’ head that we aren’t through yet and cannot take this lightly. So going for such a secure midfield is a good choice.

There’s is genuinely a ton of interest in buying the club. Like, there seems to be a frenzy. For that reason I’m actually surprised that there isn’t some lone tech billionaire who wants a shiny new vanity project. It’s all consortiums. Someone like Steve Balmer (former Microsoft guy) who recently bought the LA Clippers for $2.5B seems like the sort of guy who would be interested.
-
What this whole process is showing everyone yet again is that there are not really any “good” multibillionaires. Or at least very few. Everyone we’ve been linked to so far has something sketchy about them. I guess it’s just how you have to be to achieve that sort of success. Whoever buys us will have at least some sort of unsavory thing about them.
-
Just forget about Christensen, guys. He’s gone. A solid but unremarkable player who, because he has Thiago Silva and Rüdiger playing beside him, has been made to look much better than he actually is. Add Reece James being on his side of the pitch as well. Good player but won’t be missed if we buy a new CB. I bet anything that we won’t be saying to ourselves a year or two from now “my god, I can’t believe we let him go to Barca for nothing.” He’s not a world class talent or anything.
-
Whoever it ends up being, the first order of business needs to be ensuring Tuchel is happy and making him feel like the ambition to compete at the very top remains. He should be offered a fresh contract to stave off any sharks that may be circling and give him his top targets this summer.
-
Ricketts family is highly scrutinized by the Cubs fans for being cheap as hell. If they are the head honchos here we’d probably become Spuds or Arse. Very limited spending.
-
^ yeah, he’s not a good guy. He has directly contributed to the awful state of US politics in a big way.
-
Ken Griffin is your stereotypical mega rich hedge fund guy. He often makes headlines here in the States for donating huge sums of cash to right wing shitheads like Trump and pushing for the slashing of taxes for the ultra-wealthy so they can line their pockets even more. He is also very well known in real estate circles for buying some of the most expensive properties in the world, including spending a record $238 million on the most expensive flat in history in NYC. He likes to launder his shady reputation by donating to museums and charities like anyone of his stature. Basically, he’s like the mega-rich movie villain who everyone roots against.
-
Ken Griffin, another right wing Trumper asshole. 😒
-
Just anyone other than Woody Johnson at this point. Even if the Boehly consortium doesn’t spend mega money on transfers every summer I think he can at least be trusted to keep us competitive and dangerous near the top of the table. Woody Johnson would turn us into Arsenal. His cheap ass would let us rot for years and merely be “okay,” spending money only when things get desperate and the fans are revolting.
-
That’s the worst Atleti side I’ve seen in years as well. We’ve battered much better ones than that. If we go through tomorrow I hope we draw them. Don’t see their attacking players troubling our defenders much. Felix is good but Griezmann looks completely washed.
-
Really wish there were mass protests and visible fan anger similar to what we saw with the Super League. Kind of disappointing that there isn’t, tbh. That would probably be the only way this idiotic government would relent in their ridiculous punishment of fans, players, and staff. As stated above, you’ve already ensured Abramovich won’t see a penny from the sale, has been disqualified as the owner, and he’s effectively barred from entering the country. Why is that not enough? Why should everyone else in the club suffer?
-
Oh great, more controversy and the whole football media angry with us again with this latest statement from the club. It was indeed an incredibly stupid statement, tbf. This club just can’t catch a single break this last few weeks. Wish we’d just shut up and hurry with the new ownership before things unravel even further.
-
Wonder if Renato Sanches’s injury this past weekend will keep him out. He was their standout player in the first leg.
-
Probably a good result for us. Now Liverpool won’t allow themselves a slip up or letdown performance against Arse. But good lord, seeing Liverpool surge from so many points behind to eventually win the title would be awful. We’d never hear the end of it from the seemingly 100 former Liverpool players in the media.
-
Thing is with the Saudi’s is that if the political winds change suddenly over the next few years, what’s to say this same thing doesn’t happen to us again?
-
Just for the chaos and meltdowns by journalists, pundits, and opposition supporters I PRAY that these Saudi’s win the bid. The likes of Miguel Delaney and other moral crusaders may have a stroke if this happens.
-
I know this kind of seismic deal take a while to be settled but it feels from the outside like things have ground to a halt. We really need this cloud over everyone at the club lifted ASAP. I was optimistic after Roman first announced he was selling when reporters said it could happen within days, but now it seems there’s no end in sight.
-
Even before the contact in the box that should’ve been a pen, Chalobah had like 3 chances to get the ball out of there. A big, strong CB should’ve easily defended that. Just terrible. Much as I have long been critical of Christensen due to him being physically soft for years, when it comes to being calm and intelligent on the ball he is miles better than Trev. Once the ownership stuff is settled and we get to the summer I pray the plan is still to bring in at least 1 new CB. Trev cannot be an every game starter for a team with great ambitions.
