Can someone explain to me why was our best CB on the bench? RDM deserves to get sacked if he starts with Terry and Luiz in defence again.
-
I like the idea of starting with Sturridge. Torres won't be able to do much up front all alone against such a tough defence. Cech Ivanovic - Luiz - Terry - Cole Mikel Ramires - Lampard Hazard Sturridge - Torres

Liverpool winning the league is undoubtedly the unlikeliest thing to happen next season. Here's hoping it remains unlikely for at least two more decades.
-
Meireles is such a thug.
-
I love Torres Piazon is a handsome guy too.
-
Torres is not finished. Can you say that he didn't improve in the last 3 months of last season? Once he ended his 24 games goal drought in March he transformed into a completely different player. He started to score goals that he couldn't score to save his life in his first three months at the club. Remember that it took him 14 games to score ONE goal in his first season. 2 goals v Leicester, 1 at Villa Park in the league, that famous goal at Camp Nou, then the hat-trick vs QPR just a few days after. And that's when he started to show signs of the old Torres - the Torres of the Liverpool days, the Torres that the club spent £50 million for. And that's 7 goals in two and half months, which in my opinion is a great improvement. Plus he scored 4 goals for his international team within just a month. And remember that RDM started with Drogba in our most important games of the season. Drogba started vs Napoli at home, in both of the clashes against Barca, against Spurs in the FA Cup semi and in both of the finals. This season it will be him who will step up for the big occasions, now that Drogba's gone and he's the main man. And you will see that he'll score plenty.

Cech is 30. He can still be our no.1 goalkeeper for at least 5 more years, imo.
-
If I could choose between the League Cup and the FA Cup I'd go for the League Cup this time, because it's been 5 years that we haven't won it. We've won the FA Cup 4 times since then.
-
I know I've said this once, but I like how the vast majority of the fans have no faith in him. And this is exactly why he will shock everyone this season. The season he joined we had very few creative players, then next season it was AVB with his revolution. This season it will be him up front with Hazard, Mata, Oscar and Marin supporting him from behind/the wings, and this season will without a doubt be his.
-
What I would like to happen and what I hope for: - Top 3 finish in the league - Champions League semi-finals - FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup What I think will happen: - Top 4 finish in the league - Champions League quarter-finals - Community Shield I'm not optimistic at all about this season tbh.
-
RDM has to start with Mata. Look at how boring and predictable our game was in the pre-season without him. Chelsea's player of last season is Chelsea's best player atm, imo, so if he doesn't start against City then we don't stand a chance. I know that he needs a rest, but against an opponent such as City he simply has to start.
-
I don't want Cavani, I prefer Torres over him and I'm still confident that he can succeed at this club and that next season will be his.
-
I have no idea. I thought he still is.
-
If RDM is planning to park the bus, then: Cech Ivanovic - Luiz - Terry - Cole Mikel - Essien Mata - Lampard - Hazard Torres If he does not intend to park the bus: Cech Ivanovic - Luiz - Terry - Cole Mikel - Lampard Mata - Hazard - Malouda Torres I don't really care even if we lose, as long as it's not a humiliating defeat. Which I don't think that will happen. I can see City winning either 1-0, or 2-1.
-
I don't want to see us park the bus again. That worked last season, won't work again. My biggest worry for this season is whether RDM will be able to stop the rest of the top clubs without parking the bus.
-
Thank God that Oscar will now wear number 11. We won't be hearing those ridiculous "number 11 should be retired" statements anymore.
-
Meireles and Essien were awful. The Bison is not back, and I don't think that he will ever be. He is done. Meireles loses the ball all the time, all he can do is shoot. I hope the club sells them both. Imo Mikel was very good when he came on. There's a notable difference in midfield when he's on the pitch.
-
Torres looked good imo. When we were pushing forward Brighton were defending pretty well, and Torres couldn't do much because everytime he had the ball he had to deal with at least 2 Brighton defenders. Can't really blame him.
-
He scored a pen in a penalty shootout vs Bayern a few minutes ago. Bayern lost again, and Schweinsteiger missed the last kick.
-
That was fucking pathetic.
-
This is embarrassing. Meireles makes my blood boil.
-
What does that mean?
-
As a Chelsea fan, I trust Lamps and Mikel. I know how good they are and what they're capable of. A midfielder needs to have quality and experience in order to play the DM role; Lampard and Mikel possess both these skills so I'm not too worried. I'd suggest those Liverpool and Arsenal fans to worry about the teams they support instead of worrying about another team too much.
-
Mikel > Parker. In a Gael Kakuta thread...
-
Yeah, just like 90% of the world population predicted that we were going to get shredded at the Nou Camp.. Tell him that this is Chelsea FC we're talking about.
