  1. I saw him play on trial for Blackpool against Accrington in a freindly match down Torrington (North Devon), he was shite and in the defenders back pocket all game, will be expecting to see the "next big things" Lansbury and Emanuel Thomas down there in a few years
  2. I really cant take any one seriously when they say Wenger is good for young talent. How many talents have really benefited from Wenger ? Ashley Cole the only one, look at Aliadiere for example he looked like another Henry now look at him, Hoyte looked the future England RB now look at him, he's at Boro aint he? I remember watcing Arsenal in the carling cup in 04/05 they beat Everton 3-1 and the likes of Stack, Hoyte, Lupoli, Alliedere and i can remember a line "if this is the future of Arsenal football club we should all be very afraid". 7 years on Stack is no2 keeper at Hibs after only playing 5 games for Plymouth and not featuring on loan for Blackpool or Wolves. Hoyte is struggling to get games for Middles borough, Lupoli is playing for Italian Serie B side Ascoli after not making a SINGLE appearance for Fiorentina in 2 years (large parts spent out on loan), Alliadiere is a free agent. Yes we should be very afraid
  3. Jose back? no thank you, well not for the immediate future anyway. I will ALWAYS love Jose for what he has done for the club and if he is managing in a competition Chelsea aint i will always be behind him BUT bringing him back at this time will be the wrong move. Plus Roman stuck by Carlo in the christmas slump which much say something, Scolari got sacked for a lesser run of form, plus we have got exicting young players coming through at the moment and were hoping they get intergrated to 1st team players in the next few years, can you honestly hand on heart say Jose is the right man to bring through the likes of Josh, Clifford and Chalaboah? Maybe IF Carlo has built a formidable team in say 2014 and decides it's time to move on (to say the Italy job or his beloved Roma) and Jose is available then yes why not bring Jose in and take the side to another level. I love Jose but for the immediate future i am more than happy with Carlo. IN CARLO WE TRUST
  4. 3 weeks ago we had 4 teams to overhaul to get to the top, we've already guzumped 2 of them so in theory doing the other 2 in the next 2 months is do-able. Man.Utd have got the expierence of Fergie on their side and it will be hard to see them blowing this now BUT remember they bottled it last year at home against us when we had half our 1st team out and they only needed a draw to stay top, also remember in 98 when they blew a huge lead to hand it to Arsenal (although the gooners had a couple in hand). You just never know. Arsenal i said we will finish above them even when we were 8 points behind them and i stand by that, on paper they should'nt drop too many points but as shown last year they always do.
  5. Has to be Cech by a MILE. Terry and Ivanovic have been absolutely fantastic but Cech has made so many vital saves it is unreal. Remember the Wolves home match? if it werent for Cech we would have had the Sunderland dubarcle 3 weeks early.
  6. Evening fellow Blues, there has been a few things that has been bugging me for some time and hoping you have the answers for them. If Liverpool won the league in 08/09, would Robbie Keane have got a medal despite getting sold in January? When Watford were relegated in 06/07, did Ashley Young get the relegation on his CV despite leaving for Villa half way through? When we won the FA Cup under Hiddink, did Scolari get a medal as he oversaw our 1st 3 games in that competition, and would he have got a medal if we won the CL that year (as he oversaw our group stage progress)?
  7. Its got Gooner or a Spud trying and failing to derail us written all over it
  8. Well if we need a french gaffer to sort them out Houllier will be avalible soon
  9. A-D-C is 18 only 2 years younger than PVA. Next season might come too soon for him but the year after i think he should be starting to break through.
  10. We have got a awesome record at the business end (only 3 league losses in 6 years during April/May time and 2 of them were in 05/06 AFTER the league title was won) which always puts us in with a chance BUT sadly just like 08/09 and 06/07 our winter jitters has cost us BIG TIME we are shit in the winter really since i can remember (only exeptions being Jose's 1st and 2nd season) and it almost nearly cost us last season aswell. Next season we will have to sort that out because i honestly believe that if we can make a signififcant improvement in our winter form we will walk the title with ultimate ease. Proof being the 2 season's we actully had a decent winter we walked the league. Its not this time of the season thats a problem to us, its the middle part. Pre Roman it use to stop us challenging for the league, these days it stops us winning the bloody thing.
  11. Im actully genuinely suprised no-one has considered Deen - Conteh
  12. Recently it doesnt matter because we have won games. Would you rather Torres scored in all 3 United, Blackpool, City games and we picked up 4 points instead of 9? that was the reason he left Liverpool. Were winning recently so i dont care where the goals from aslong as they do.
  13. Ed de Goey believes Chelsea can go the whole season unbeaten and snatch the Premier League trophy from underneath Manchester United's nose. The Blues currently sit nine points behind the Red Devils in the table with a game in hand and still have to play Sir Alex Ferguson's men at Old Trafford. Chelsea beat Manchester City 2-0 on Sunday to extend their unbeaten run to seven and now the former Blues stopper claims they might not lose again this season. Speaking to the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show, he said: "It's an exciting time now at Stamford Bridge, some bad results from Man united and Arsenal have given Chelsea another lifeline for the Premier League title. "Chelsea can go the whole season unbeaten, the only thing they have do to is win all of their games and wait for slip-ups from the teams above. "I think Chelsea are showing signs that they can win and play well in games, Manchester United over the last few weeks are dropping points that they normally don't do. When asked about Chelsea's latest defensive signing, David Luiz, de Goey went on to say "David Luiz is a quality player; he showed that yesterday, he's a good signing for Chelsea." http://www.talksport...season-unbeaten ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Really good to see that we still get support from our old players and he was a great servant to us aswell. It was a shame his carer with us petered out really. Glad to see he still wants us to win. Going back to the topic do you agree with Ed, do you think we can pull it off?
  14. Even tho i could not for the world see them score i still felt some nerves in the last 10 especially when Balotelli came on, although he is a whinging prick he is capable of the odd moment of brilliance. People moan about Torres but he is doing A LOT more than Dzeko.
  15. Patrick was getting slautered by Leicester fans before his injury, he has a long way to go before he is as good as Ashley Cole, Bertrand i think is currently better at defending. But if i had to bet on any one id say Aziz Deen Conteh, he is like Van Aanholt but assured in his defending.
  16. All in all Ancelotti done a superb job more Milan but it was clear that the 1 mistake he made was sticking with the same team for longer than he should have which meant by the end of his tenure at Milan the squad's average age was in excess of 30 and it was only Kaka and Pato that was keeping it down to even that much. I remember their match against Arsenal in 2008, they looked rigid and devoid of ideas even with Kaka on the pitch and (despite their bottler reputation they have become accustom to in recent times) as soon as Arsenal scored you knew that was it. In that same season Milan lumbered to a 5th place finish in Serie A and it was becoming clear that the team needed serious re-building. Has he learned from that mistake at Chelsea? Last summer he made a statement of intent by letting go 4 of our 5 over 32's (Goalkeeper Hilario being the only one in that elite group to survive) and although Ballack, Beletti, Deco and Carvalho were good players and great servants to the club we knew that they were getting on and if we kept them and kept saying well one more season wont hurt, before we know it there all be 36 and our team will be badly suffering in the same way Milan's did. Also the signings of Luiz, Ramires, Piazon and Torres shows that he has no intention on letting us fade away and make the same mistake again, the intent on promoting youth players to the 1st team squad shows the same (although bar McEachran it hasn't gone the way we hoped), it shows that Carlo has got the future aswell as the present well and truly in mind. The whisperings of bids for Sneijer (spelling) and Van Der Wiel amounst others adds further proof. Most great managers learn by making mistakes and it looks like Carlo has done just that and it will only be for our benefit in the long run. IN CARLO WE TRUST
  17. I dont know, if he goes a new manager might actully smell the coffee and boost their weak areas in their team. If Wenger stays it will be 1 less team to worry about every season. IN Wenger we Trust
  18. Petr Cech 6 - Got all his decisions spot on but in all honesty apart from a Toure shot which most keepers would have saved he had sod all to do. Branislav Ivanovic 6 - Troubled a couple of times but done enough to show that RB is his best position. David Luiz 10 - dont think ive given a 10 yet but this guy deserves one, where are the idiots who said he cant defend? he did not get skinned once and poped up with yet another goal, are we seeing a 10 goal a season defender here? John Terry 9 - Led from the back and his brave tackle that nearly got him injured showed that his commitment to the cause can not be questioned (like any blue would anyway), outstanding from the skipper. Ashley Cole 8 - Starting to look like the Cole from August, not hesitant to drive forward and never gets caught out at the back. Micheal Essien 8 - This guy is back and at a vital time of the season. Ramires 9 - Awesome goal, although he gave the ball away a few times but all in all he was very good, would usually be an 8 but that goal pops him up to 9. Frank Lampard 6 - He did ok but his shooting was a bit erratic, he wasnt brilliant today but lets be honest he didnt really need to be. Florent Malouda 5 - Took too much time on the ball and his delivery was shite, he has to pick up form quick or face the drop. Soloman Kalou 7 - Was pretty good today, wisper it quietly he was using the ball wisely. Fernando Torres 8 - why was he subbed off? i thought he was fantastic making runs and even tracking back doing his work, im really happy with his effort today and ive seen enough to be convinced when 1 goes in lots will follow. SUBS Nicolas Anelka 6 Didier Drogba 7 Yuri Zhirkov 6 All in all good and well deserved win would have been a travesty if we didn't, scoreline flattered City we outplayed them.
  19. No Carlos Tevez for Man.City - thank god for that.
  20. Thats 1 win (against LEAGUE ONE Orient) in 6 as they crumble at the vital stage of their season again just like they did last year and in 2008, am i the only one that is starting to really enjoy seeing it happen season after season? Every season since Jose left we have had to listen to the same shit, how their team have finally matured and there only a stone's throw away from dominating again and how our squad are past it and the tide in London is turning back in their favour before there season crumbles spectacually ,this predictable pattern has happened for 2 of the last 3 years and looks set to happen again this time round.. In reality even if they finish above us (which on their current form i say aint even likely) this year in 2nd or 3rd place there are still no signs of that tide turning in the long term, infact if they bring a few more quality players in the only team in london i will be worried about guzumping us are the Spuds. Considering evrey year Arsenal seem to hit decent form around December/January and we (i especially) get constant taunts by Gooner mates about how their team have matured, were past it bla bla bla, i personally cant help myself but take great pleasure and amusement when it all goes tits up. Infact the only thing that gives me greater pleasure than seeing Arsenal crumble is Chelsea winning and our club doing good things. Does any-one else feel the same?
  21. It would be so sweet if we turn them over in both.
