Stats like this can be misleading. IE United will win the league this year with less points than they finished second in last time but would they care when they lift the title in the theater of shit? not in the slightest. Our 02/03 team at their peak could quite easily have won this league season. The dip in points for the champions since 04-05 (08-09 aside) shows that not just the top teams aint as good as before but the "lesser" teams are getting better and really fancy their chances when coming to Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford, Emirates etc etc... The only way has been down for every top team over the last few years not just us Utd are going to be probally the worst winners for a long time, BUT with carefull managing, promotion of youth players and clever transfers there is only 1 way Chelsea FC are going and that is up. On a side note can we lock this thread, how this has got over 1,000 comments and 20,000 views is beyond me.

Basically last year was what was feared, the last horay for the formidable team of 04-10 and serious adjustments are needed. Whether a new manager in or Carlo stays (hopefully the latter) the squad needs a fair bit of tweaking , Lampard and Drogba should be used sparingly as we cant keep relying on them for the next few years, time to bring in 2 wingers, a RB, a forward (with Anelka and Malouda on their way), i will always appreciate these players and what they done but we must not be sentimental. The squad dont need as big a overhaul as people make out but it DOES need changes. Dont need to bring in a creative midfielder weve got 1 who goes by the name of Josh McEachran. OUT Hilario and Paulo - not as bad as people like to make out but both takes up valuable over 21 foreign spot, both have been great servants and if played against Newcastle should get the standing ovation they deserve. Bosingwa - Never really rated him highly not good enough defensively and living of his 1st couple of months. Anelka and Malouda - Both given us great memories but the time is right for both parties. IN 2 wingers A right back A forward SQUAD Cech/Delac/Turnbull/Blackman Ivanovic/new RB/ B.Clifford Terry/Luiz/Alex/Bruma/Chalobah Cole/Bertrand/Deen-Conteh Mikel/Essien/C.Clifford McEachran/Ramires/Benayoun/Lampard/Mellis 2 new wingers/Kalou/Yuri New forward/Torres/Drogba/Sturridge/Borini Under the homegrown rules we can name unlimited under 21's in our squad, time we started doing that (hench the inclusion of the youth players).

Whats with this McEachran doesnt get loads of playing time bolax? He has still featured FIFTEEN times this season which is well above the average for a player in the 17-18 bracket, Beckham didnt break through the United team until he was 20. In the year they were 17 turning 18 Lampard was on loan at Swansea Cech was playing for a club called Blasny and only made 1 appearance that season Terry was still awaiting his Chelsea debut Essien was still awaiting his professional debut. Just because he aint playing every week at 17 DOESNT mean he aint going to make it

He was pretty harsh singling out Luiz. Essien, Malouda, Anelka amounst others was asking for one of them most of the season, why didnt Carlo do it to them too?
-
Wasnt it Bolourouz who Ronaldinho put on his ass before setting up Gudjohsen to give Barca the lead? I hardly think its Bolo mark 2, Luiz has been fantastic in every game bar this one, Stoke and Brum and i even think he was treated very harshly by Carlo today.
-
Bliming heck didnt expect that saw LDN was having a surge and i thought he had it. Thankyou for all who voted and its a pleasure to get it, even more so that i was up against some extremelly stiff competition. KTBFFH

As i said a few weeks ago for those who want Carlo out be very carefull what you wish for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Its pretty worrying that we haven't won from 2-0 down since AUGUST 2002!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when we did it away at Charlton, this aint just the prem its all competitions
-
Maybe he should have played them more but depsite all this not one of our managers has as much as looked at the youth since Vialli, Ancelotti is alteast showing intent on that topic.
-
Fabio made 2 appearances in 08/09 at the age of 18, the next season at the age of 19 he made 11, now he starting to break through, McEachran is much higher in development than Fabio was at that age and even Rafeal werent playing regually at 17, Josh will be class give him time.

Excellent post Alex, i aint actually too disappointed considering the predicament i thought we would be now after the night down at Fulham. Every one has season like this (Man.Utd 01/02, Bayern 06/07, Barca 07/08) yet we (unlike those) will more than likely finish in the top 2, hopefully Roman gives Carlo a year to stamp his authority properly and next season we will be ready to battle on all fours again. Considering the predicament after Fulham game i aint too disappointed at-all and would have bit your hand off is this was offered to me after that match.
-
+1 although i disagree on Luiz being off it should have been Ivan he was walking a tight rope, put Luiz at RB he could have gone forward more and tested O Shit/Evans. Alex tho, TOP CLASS
-
Carlo was very harsh on Luiz imo, he cant be solely blamed for that goal surely, Giggs 1st then Park should have both been closed down, ok he didnt have his best game but he didn't deserve to get scapegoated like that, i love Carlo and im 100% behind him but that was a joke.
-
Yes we gave it a fight that day but we sure didnt in the few weeks leading up to that match. United were crumbling and there for the taking yet we labour to a dire draw at St James Park and at home to Bolton which ultimately cost us in the end, not to mention the christmas period where we didnt know our ass from our elbow and the Anfield display was beyond woefull.

The worse thing about this is taking shit from utd "fans" who have never set foot inside Manchester.
-
Dont give a fuck what any-one says - 2 months ago we were out of the champions league places, EIGHTEEN points off the top at one point -below Tottenham and just above Sunderland and Bolton -yet we still managed to take the title race to the last month We should be IMMENSELY proud of what we have done for the last couple of months and things only look up next season (god im starting to sound like a scouser ) KTBFFH

We should be showing more urgency
-
How ironic would it be if Torres turns this around?
-
Even with whats going on 1 goal could change everything
-
2 goals down so what do we do, make 2 defensive changes when we have Benayoun, Anelka and Torres on the bench aswell as taking off our defender whos most likely to score, well done carlo
-
Im half tempted to turn over to life of riley
-
This will be humilating if we carry on like this
-
Considering the amount of arrogant United fans gobbing off to me today i will fucking laugh at the twats if we beat them
