  1. People/posters should not be criticized for having an opinion whether right or wrong, there is no problem having a sensible debate about this topic but just because some want Ancelotti out, they should not be sent to Coventry for it & vise versa. I'm against Carlo staying but I won't start throwing accusations/stones at the pro Carlo posters - that doesn't make them any less of a supporter than me & are very much entitled to their opinion, thats what forums are about ffs. This thread is an extension of the Ancelotti out in the summer one, I've gave my reasons on there why I would favour a change but added that if Carlo remains, I would love him to prove me wrong as I have nothing but respect for the guy in terms of personality, however I just don't see us winning the CL under his management & the reasons why we have gone backwards this season is due to the fact he has let things happen that a Jose or a Ferguson would not allow, managers need their own idendity, should never be undermined by superiors who have very little or no knowledge of footballing decisions. If Ancelotti stays he has to put his foot down & get to grips with the hierarchy for us to move forward in the future & the same can be said about any new appointment.
  2. Firstly changes to personel will depend on when/if we have a new manager at the helm next season, a new manager will want his stamp on his squad and will hopefully put his foot down were the tinkering of the squad is concerned. Hilario - not good enough. Zhirkov - Has ability but has been prone to injury and we have some exciting youngsters coming through in his position. Mikel - I'm fed up of seeing to many defensively minded players on the pitch all at once, not as good as Essien or Ramires, decent squad player but he could fetch a few quid and we could use this to purchase a playmaker. Before the avalanche arrives about his inclusion, i've already said why i don't rate him on other topic's so don't bother its just my opinion! Ferierra - Good pro and someone that should be given a role at the club in coaching, but i think its time someone like Bruma should be given some opportunities, Bruma to me has all the qualities to be a decent RB and will find it hard to oust the 4 CB's we have already. Malouda - Again someone i've never rated, too inconsistent, too slow, loses possession too often, enough said! Kalou - If he could produce consistently like he does from the bench sometimes he would be worth keeping but those performances are too far and between, inconsistent and would fetch a decent transfer fee as he has age on his side. Bosingwa - Always stated that he can't defend for toffee but can produce going forward but now that has deserted him, there is little or no point keeping him. I would give youth a chance by giving them more opportunitys and include a playmaker and 2 wingers (left and right) that have pace and can provide but also work hard for the team. Not sure if our young keepers are ready to step up but Shay Given would be a great choice to back up Cech. Our defence is solid, goals against proves that again this season so its just upfront that needs some work, we all know that a playmaker is a must for next season but don't be surprised to see Luiz pushed into that role at times next season especially if we have a new man at the helm.
  3. Agreed but thats not Lampards fault, they negotiated that contract a couple of years ago and how do we know that the club didn't stipulate a decrease in his wages as he gets older and plays less games, don't forget he could of gone to Inter for something like 8m. The club had to ensure we kept our best players and 1 that so happens to be the top goal scoring midfielder in Europe over how many years and not to mention how many assists........................
  4. I think what the media and posters alike are forgetting is that he had a very bad injury that was badly diagnosed which in turn took him almost 4 months to put right, these injuries take there toll especially as he is no spring chicken anymore. The good news is, he will have a good break in the close season, i have no doubts he will be back with a vengeance next season. For me Lampard is far too professional to just let his form slip and because great players have that extra bit of determination within them, i believe he will come back motivated next season hopefully in a system that can accomodate him and get Torres playing again. If he doesn't play as often as he has in previous seasons, then it would be foolish for us to to let him leave when he has a wealth of experience and we could use this to help mentor the very promising younsters that we have coming through the ranks, especially MacEachran and Piazon who will probably take his position one day.
  5. :goodpost: I concur with you're first 6 points and would like to add (if Ancelotti is to stay) - 7. Give youth a chance, i've made it no secret of mine that the likes of Sturridge and Kakuta et al should still be at the club, them along with Bruma, Van Aaholt, and MacEachran should of been given more chances especially during the poor spell. 8. Improve motivation, Mourinho was a master of this and made players like Lampard feel like they were amongst the best players in the world, i just didn't see any of our players really up for it against Man U in the 2 legs, where as the Utd players looked like they really wanted it more and that would be the Ferguson factor coming into play. Motivation has to be part of every game and our players seem to lack it in abundance this season. 9. Grow some much needed bollocks! Part of the reason that the likes of Ferguson and Jose are so successful is due to the fact that they will not permit any interference from above in their roles, Jose made that stand when the hierachy wanted to oust Steve Clark, he put his foot down and said 'sack him you sack us all' they backed off and unfortunately you cannot say the same with Ancelotti about the Wilkins scenario amongst other speculation this season. 10. A new coach that he can bounce idea's off, who also has a different eye in viewing games, someone that can see the obvious change during games and put his views to Ancelotti and lastly someone like Wilkins who can put an arm around players when things aren't going so well, i think Torres needs one at the mo and is suffering in confidence and he needs a good coach who can help his head. I will add that i don't see us winning the CL under Ancelotti, he wasn't my choice to bring in and the reason for that was the fact he had only won 1 scudetta in something like 10 years, he was brought in by Roman because of his success in the CL and he has failed miserably in the last 2 seasons. Ancelotti did however prove me wrong last season and would love him to do it again next if he got the chance to do it, but i cannot see him improving on of the above points imho, so therefore for me he has to go - with regret unfortunately.
  6. You just don't get it do you, the offence, foul, leg wrapped around Ramires occurred/happened IN THE 18 YARD BOX!!!!!!!!! There was some contact just outside but nothing to warrant a free kick, hence a penalty kick should of been awarded & a red card. I'm sure there are plants on here just to go on fishing trips & perhaps I've taken the bait too many times!
  7. Ive said many times it was a massive mistake to let Sturridge & Kakuta go out on loan, it is one of many mistakes Ancelotti has made this season, I'm sad for Carlo as he is a very dignified & honourable man, a brilliant man-manager but unfortunately he is not a great tactician & that as ultimately cost us in the CL in the last 2 seasons. I think it will cost him his job. Like you say BL, we have some positives to look forward to, Ramires, Luiz, etc, Torres will come good, Ivanovich is world class, we have some fantastic youngsters waiting in the wings & they now must be introduced, I believe we have to get rid of some of the old guard but not wholesale. It will be transitional but I believe with the right man in charge we will be back with a vengeance.
  8. I've already said that Evra started to nibble at Ramires outside the box but the foul or offence was made inside the box, so it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that out, but I suppose you & a very small minority called Utd fans will think differently.
  9. Are you a Man u fan? Look I didn't need a replay at the time, I didn't need video evidence & I certainly don't need a stealth Utd fan on here questioning that it wasn't a pen. Evra starts to nibble at Ramires outside & then takes him inside the box, how much more evidence do you want FFS?! It's been almost a week & every major pundit & radio commentator has said exactly the same so I can't be that bad a judge? If it wasn't a pen then why didn't the ref give a free kick & send off Evra then?
  10. There is always a fear that every young player may not develop but what really has impressed me with this lad is that he can use either foot & he has vision, something he is not going to lose as he gets older, if anything he could get better as he grows in physique & matures, let's not also forget that he is not playing against mediocrity in these tournaments. This lad looks top drawer to me & let's hope he gets the right coaching & they look after him mentally, it also helps him that we have 3 Brazilian's already.
  11. WTF??? Evra made the offence inside the box, wrapping his leg around Ramires, clear pen without doubt. Even if the offence had taken place outside then it was still a red card, unfortunately for us it wasn't given - yet again! Like the fact the writer has used frames instead of real time - not! Who needs video technology for stone wall decisions such as this, oh never mind we now have a fifth official that can ease the refs workload but hang on a minute, somebody give him a kick & wake him up from his hammock! Thanks Pratini you first class numptey.
  12. It's a 'plant' by a fucking Man Utd supporting Journalist & a very poor scribe at that. It's obviously being used as tool to put unrest amongst our squad before Tuesday's game. Just like something negative will come out about City before their semi final at the weekend. I hope Torres uses it for inspiration & fires us into the semi's, fucking rags will do anything to sell a paper or 2.
  13. Kalou has very rarely started a game & played well for 90 minutes, the only time he plays well is when he comes off the bench & I thought he should of been used on Weds from there, its safe to say he is not one of my favourite players but he has talent, he just doesn't produce on a consistent basis. I concur though I think he will start against Wigan, the other places upfront will be a lottery & difficult to forecast. Mikel will get the nod over Essien & Lamps could do with being benched just to give him a much needed kick up the backside & that may put his mind right for the Utd game, as I said I think its imperative to put Ramires in the middle, so that gives us options with Kalou & Benayoun on the right bearing in mind that we will have to play a more expansive game on Tuesday.
  14. I'm not so sure, u thought he would start with Anelka against Utd being that he has played well in European ties & linked up well with Torres but went with Drogba instead? I'm more worried about RB & midfield as Utd got the better of us in there on Weds, we have to take the game to them & to do that we are going to have to win it in the middle of the park, with Ramires energy & pace I think he could be a gem in the middle. Hate to say it but Lamps & Essien were poor so something has to give.
  15. I havn't answered any questions eldo, just pointed out that we lack creativity & on a previous post that I couldn't understand Ancelotti's reasoning for bringing on Mikel (another DM) when we need to score? I could get my head round it if we were winning & he was trying to protect our lead but not when we are losing, very bizarre? For me I would of taken off Essien, put Ramires in the middle & brought on Kalou, & before the knockers get on to me I dont really rate him either but he always plays better coming off the bench & can provide a spark now & again, its just we didnt have many attacking options left, just a pity we don't have Sturridge or Benayoun there. We do need a playmaker without question, Snieder would get my vote but a decent winger like Robben would also give us more creativity.
  16. No it wasn't a foul, he lost possession because he is to slow please take you're Mikel glasses off. I do though agree that Essien was poor & have already said he should of been taken off. As for Barcelona they are a totally different animal, they have creative players such as Xavi & Iniesta with decent full backs like Alves who provide width & cause problems in attack & that's not to mention they have the best player in the world in Messi, full of creativity - we don't have those players that can do that infront of a DM, Keita & Mascherano are quick so that rules Mikel out of their side:straight away.
  17. Look I'm not even going to get started on poxy Mikel as for some reason there are a lot of his fans on here, but what some of you havnt said is the first thing he done was that he got caught in possession & they then counter attacked from it & it could of been curtains for us. However Essien was poor & should of been taken off. We don't need 2 DM, what we need is creativity & thats not going to come from having 2 defensive midfielders. Yes, benayoun could provide the ammunition of creativity that is so badly needed.
  18. First things first, we were poor, Utd didn't have to play well to win as so many of our players were so of the pace its untrue, the facts are old Bacon face got his tactics right & Ancelotti didn't. Drogba should of stayed on the pitch, couldn't understand why Ancelotti with us needing to score brings on another DM? Yeah another stone waller not given & that was a shocking decision especially from the inept 5th official & those decisions change ties but having said that most of our players really need to have a long look at their performance & put it right at the theatre of silence. I said before we were starting to look like we were improving before that f'kin international break & now we seemed to have gone backwards for some reason?
  19. For someone who has a massive 'rep' on here you sometimes let yourself down by scoring own goals such as this comment BL. Granted Drogba didn't get off to a flyer but he worked so hard up front on his own to bring others into positions to score in our first 2 title winning seasons & Lampard was the main beneficiary. Drogba has consistently been on the score sheet since & providing assists. Ironically this season has been his worst without question & you can't tell me that he has not been open to criticism the same as the other under performers? Atleast he has had some sort of excuse with having a belt of malaria, Maloulda doesn't have anyrhing to provide as an excuse for his inconsistent performances.
  20. Not disagreeing with his performances from Jan to Sept last year or the 3 or so months under Hiddink, I had to eat some humble pie last season! However he has had 4 seasons with us, almost 5 & in that time he has produced in total for about 1! He is nowhere near consistent enough, has no pace, loses possession far too often & this season especially he has become greedy, Robben was a far superior player in every way, Duff was also quality for us & he is still playing better now than Maloulda!
  21. I'm not going to repeat my opinion on everything Maloulda, done that before, but will just state that I have never rated him. I hope that he is sold in the summer along with 3 or 4 others. My question is, if the average Joe can see that his form has been woeful for weeks & was again on Saturday, then why is our manager still giving him game time? It's not like Ancelotti has no other option, for me it just doesn't make sense at all?
  22. jYes Max, there are no restrictions on redevelopment & maybe a big factor in the hierarchys decision to move, there also no restrictions on youth development. As I said I think it is logical financially & the move will give us an edge on our rivals by exploiting these rules with the redevelopment, its just a wrench to leave the Bridge.
  23. Ramires for me, closely followed by Luiz & JT but Cech & Ivanovich should also get a mention for their continuing consistency. Luiz has made some mistakes but he is simply awesome offensively with a super strike against Utd that any striker would of been proud of. I've said on other forums before now that Ramires will come good & told them to judge next season but he is already showing his qualities - good engine, chipping in with a goal or 2 & I'm impressed with the way he can get about the pitch, great pace. We could of done without this darn International break as we starting to hit some form, let's hope these players continue in this form & you never know what we could achieve this season. KTBFFH. :blue scalf:
