Mikel vs Blackburn: Vertical Passes from the "Horizontal Man"
Kojo replied to CareFreeChronic's topic in Chelsea Articles
You seriously think he's one of the best in his position?, well sorry but that mystifies me, Mikel rarely tracks players and hasnt got the pace to break up play, Romeu has, and how do you know that?, how do you know Romeu would of looked lost?, put your crystal ball away for a second. Obviously no one is invincible, somethings happen which cannot be controlled, it's basically just really good football, but Valencia were taking a dump in our half and Mikel couldn't do anything, Romeu could of at least done something and had the pace too, it would of at least kept some control in the team and confidence. Mikel in my opinion is too slow. I'm not talking about he should stick in DM, i think he's wasted there and could of been a better central midfield player, rather than being a defensive midfielder. His passing is something we are missing out on, but it's my opinion and fair enough if you think Mikel can do a better job than Romeu. -

You've got good confidence Tomo-91 i'll give you that, and i bet a lot of people are happy that theres posters like you on here to at least battle the negativity that posters bring including me. Good on you!, but i'm still with my opinion and i think were in trouble and are going to have to hold out till we get some better players, looking at the team, i just don't think it's good enough, it lacks world class players, and a spark.
-
Yeah i'll agree with that, but you got to lay down the facts here, we need to be much better, we can't keep playing like this and expect to be in top four. However i'm going to have hope in AVB, and maybe he can sort it out, but i think it's evident he has to stop that highline defending. The main thing i'm hoping for is new players and get rid of the deadwood, i still think we should keep Anelka, as he's an experienced player with a lot to offer.
-
Think what you want, i'm going to speak my mind, the Arsenal game fucked me up i'll admit, i've still got no hope. You can't deny that with our defence any big team can take a shit on it, it's going to be a long season if we keep playing this defence line. I will only have confidence untill we get a good team.

It also means it's more embarrassing when they beat us, whilest we play with our horrible high defence line.

Mikel vs Blackburn: Vertical Passes from the "Horizontal Man"

Excellent work. John Obi Mikel should of been adapted to a creative player, more forward, he is gifted in passing, his passing is usually 90-100 percent accuracy, just perfect pin point accuracy. He's a good safe player, and you feel safe when watching him on the ball. But for me Mikel can only be our future DM if he loses the strength and goes for pace, players always outrun him in midfield, now he doesn't even bother tracking, the biggest example of this was in the Valencia game, he allowed play constantly by Valencia, if we had Essien or Romeu it wouldn't of happened. Mikel is just far too slow, his tackling is good, not perfect but it's still fit tackling. He just needs to have the pace to break up play, brilliant passer, but for who he is now he should of been a creative player in my opinion, his passing forward is something we miss out on, and i believe he used to be a creative player and had good vision but we adapted him to a DM. Not to sure though. Anyway my best explanation of Mikel and i say it many times on here is... good on the ball, but bad off the ball -
So do i, even though i'd look like a right tit, i hope he proves me wrong, because at the end of the day i just want what's best for Chelsea. McEachran, he should be playing a lot more games than he does, that's fact, is he ready to be that player?, it's debatable... but if so we still need to get new players in January, in my opinion two wingers, and that playmaker, Mata makes magic on the left, but we need that drive in midfield what we havent got, Mata shouldn't have to come deep no matter if he is a free role player.
-
Henrique what do you have against John Terry?, he's put a few bad games in, but who the fuck hasn't with this stupid high line defending, John Terry was never blessed with pace. The only one who is actually fit for this highline defending is David Luiz, and even he hasn't been on top form.
-
Lampard is a great player, and is a chelsea legend, i hate to say it, but he cannot take our team where it is. We need a better played in midfield where he is, Lampard loses the ball far too much, he scored the winning goal, you can look at it that way, but if we had that player we incredibly need in Lampards spot we could of been talking about a 5-0 win, not only does he dictate the game but that player gives everyone else confidence to make runs and pass to him. Them players change the game, Lampard doesn't have it.
-
I have to agree with that, Blackburn is a tough place to go, sorry for not taking that into account. But i still think our team needs massive improvement, Lampard hasn't got it, he's a legend but he can not move us to success anymore, some of the passes he was trying to make are the ones McEachran does smoothly and with ease, McEachran also has amazing vision, i think he should be playing more games.
-
I can't believe people are actually happy on here, this in my opinion was a bad game, we still need to sort this out, we were lucky we were playing a poor team like Blackburn.
-
Torres?, are you doing this on purpose?.
-
Mike Dean is a twat, he gave Meireles a yellow card for that... fucking joke and penderson has only just been booked recently...
-
FUCKING HELL!!!, JESUS PLEASE DON'T BOTTLE IT CHELSEA FFS!
-
Alex you fucking legend!.
-
SHIT!!!, STOP CONCEDING FREE KICKS!!!.
-
Yakubu you fat bastard stop jumping on people.
-
What a ball by Cole!, well done, very rarely you see that.
-
Mata please.
-
Holy shitter!. That was fucking close, well done Cech.
-
Don't get to cocky about the cross, Bosingwa has also assisted with a cross, Ivanovic is a great defender, but he wont be pulling off stuff like that all the time, Bosingwa in my opinion will always be better at attacking.
-
That was magic by Ivanovic.

Torres was a buy what wasn't thought about, and Roman bought him without thinking about anything, the type of striker he is, the stuff what could happen if it goes wrong. Torres played with a Liverpool team which never lacked creativity, even when they had a bad season, he was scoring goals, he was used to the pass he was getting from Gerrard and Alonso, he always used to get a good cross coming his way, at Chelsea he never gets that. You watch Torres, he always gets a pass with his back facing goal, at Liverpool when he got the ball the last defender was already 4 yards behind him, he never gets that at Chelsea. The only time this season i've seen Torres get a through ball was by Anelka in the United match and he scored, from a hard angle also.
-
Torres wont do anything, we will never have a good Torres untill we actually get a good team who can give him regular assistance and at least 1-2 chances a game. We are lacking options, i hope Malouda gets sent off and we are with 10 men, because then we might actually do something. Can't wait till we get rid of these players and get new ones in.
