I've only ever made one thread, so i was thinking of making another one, just wanted to see what everyone else thought on these remarks we keep getting on David Luiz. When we bought David Luiz and he ended up scoring against City and United and putting 10/10 performances in, people where going on about how good he was and he could be the best defender in a few years time, eversince our international break and we played stoke and we were very lucky to draw 1-1, he wasn't in the best of form, but he wasn't bad. It then came to the United match, we had kick off (i believe), lost the ball right away, very poor, John Terry is trying to do the offside trap with no one else participating, Luiz gets the shit because Hernandez was on his side, yes you would of expected better from David Luiz. But it's a gamble, he made a choice to stick a foot in and try and get the ball before Hernandez got it, unfortunately for him and us he got it wrong. Even now with him back on form, our defender who has been putting in man of the match performances in the back 4, all i hear from commentators is 'ahh well that's the problem, he's to clumsy, needs much more experiece', now this winds me up, any of you people get very sick of this?, this has also changed many other supporters views on David Luiz, other clubs see him as overrated and a very clumsy defender. For me he is just like any other defender in his catagory, take a look at Pepe for Real Madrid, brilliant tackler, makes sure you don't get past him, puts the shits up you and when you get near him, you wont have the ball for much longer, however he concedes many silly free kicks, penalties and has been sent off many times, the same could definitely be said about Vidic also. Samuel for Inter Milan is also similar, David Luiz is a very talented defender and has a huge swag about him when he's on form, he can do anything, even if it means going on a forward run and pick out a pass or go for a shot. Very entertaining and exciting centre back, however i don't think he gets enough credit, as a matter of fact he seems to get talked down to by a lot of people, commentators and writers, what are your thoughts on it?.

I'll agree with badboy there, most people on here do have tinted glasses when it comes to Terry, when he underperforms he never gets as much shit as the others do if they under perform. He is a legend and what i love him most is he's been at our club his whole life, should we sell him?, we would be mad to do that, he is our leader in back 4, you just see how bad our defence would be without him. You need your leaders in the back four, the ones who sort it out, and John Terry is one of the best ones you can get. We shouldn't of sold him, but this season he's been average so far, last game solid, but average in overall this season. And we should do with him what we did with Lampard, play someone else and not give him automatic starting, hopefully it will do him good.

Yeah it's close between them, but like Zoyales said Sturridge won us the match with the first 3 goals. Everyone played pretty well in this match to be fair, and Drogba, well if he had scored it would of been a different story, he made good movement and he wasn't bad at all, he just didn't score, but if he did it would of been a different story in my opinion. Didn't play bad at all i don't think.

Lampard Shutting the media up at Mestalla?
Kojo replied to CHOULO19's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
No one was that disrespectful at all, just becaues of a record and a reputation you can't keep someone in the team forever if there playing bad, and Lampard was doing just that, what are we to just be blind and not have a say about it?, no way, Lampard was playing bad and starting all the time, everyone knows he's a good bloke and a legend at this club, but when your playing bad your playing bad, a name or record can't change that moment in time. -
Lmao!!!, i could just imagine that, we should all go and have a forum war with Red Cafe and spam there boards to death.

Agree with you there, Everton are very good at set pieces, defending them by all means is a must. WIth out recent performances and the team playing well, i think we will win this match, i have confidence we will win, not comfortably, it's not going to be an easy game for us, we are not fully there yet and unproven, this will be a big test when it comes to playing very good sides. Everton have had the better over us for the past 2 years, no matter what it was like a force field was blocking the way of us winning, when we where in the lead they would grab a last minute equaliser, even if it was by a championship striker. I think we should just attack this, Ramires-Meireles-Lampard. Also do you guys think we should use Meireles more?, i have still yet to see him go more forward, at Liverpool he was fucking brilliant at getting forward and causing problems, we havent let him do that yet, we keep playing him way to deep in my opinion, we probably could do with resting Ramires this match anyway, if we do be interesting to see if Meireles plays there, he's at his very best there in my opinion when he's attacking.

We could do with getting rid of some players, Ferriera i would keep him if he was willing to reduce his wages, it's good to an experienced fullback, you can't just have a backup of young players, Arsenal do that and look what always happens to them when most of there first eleven gets injured. Alex is a big problem, i highly rate him, one of my favourite players but his form this season has been terrible, great game in the stoke match, probably man of the match then, but lately i've been dissapointed in him. If he keeps it up then he has to go. Midfield we are very short of options, we will end up selling Benayoun and then we can go buy a playmaker maybe?, but who knows if AVB can work something out with our team this season i could be saying different at the end of the season. Forwards we need to be getting rid of a few, Malouda, he just isn't good enough anymore, not form, he's had time to pick it back up, he's just not good enough. Kalou, don't have to explain, Drogba, amazing player, legend, but i think this has to be his last season i'm afraid, we can't keep keeping these legends and not getting replacements and leaving our chances for youth, it's for the best, but we will miss him. Keep Anelka if he keeps it up, he deserves another year, it's proof, last season he was just lazy, and lacked motivation because Carlo sucked at it, Wilkins was a big help in the motivation and that's what screwed up the team when he left. So yes we could do with a winger to give us more attacking options definitely, second striker i don't know if we can find one who is willing to be benched most games, the only one i can suggest in our team is Anelka, but he's not great at it, however he's experienced, can work with Torres and is willing to sit on the bench, it's probably just wages what he wants at the end of the day. But yes personally i just think we need a winger in our attacking options, a right footed one definitely who is willing to be our crosser, depending on how good Kakuta does i think i will decide what i think at the end of the season if we need a replacement for Malouda.

Lampard was outstanding, but i have to vote Sturridge, i think he caused problems and made some brilliant movement, i'll admit i'm probably over crediting him for adapting to the right wing in that match. But like i said he was a menace to Bolton, no one gives him credit on the corner, it wasn't awful defending, the dude should of marked him more, but he got no credit at all for scoring that goal. Still a very good goal, if i was him i wouldn't of even knew it was going to me, it looked like it was going to Ramires at first. But still i always have to vote for the dangerman of our team when it comes to man of the match, and for me that was Sturridge, he scored and pulled strings.
-
Bolton aren't that bad to get relegated, they are better than the likes of Wigan and Blackburn I think. Wolves have a good team, I don't know how they get battered most of the time...
-
Saha just knows how to score against us, even at United he did.
-
Can anyone tell me if he's been any good at Wigan?, i saw the last match for Wigan, highlights only, he didn't mark Darren Bent very well and allowed him to score, not a nice thing to see, but the other centre back was at fault also.
-
depends if he keeps playing well, hopefully he does. Today he showed how well him and Mata are at working with each other, they switch positions and were good when doing it, we might do very well this season if we keep playing like this.
-
It's fucking stupid, Carroll has been awful, he was even bad in the Everton match, the only good thing he did was score, his link up with Suarez was poor, he gave the ball away tonnes of times, in that match he showed all he can do is finish, his other technical skills where awful. Amazing how he gets a nod over Sturridge, Capello doesn't have a clue. Also don't know how he can leave Abaonglahor out, he's been world class so far this season, scoring goals for fun and turning players inside out, amazing how he hasn't been called up, Capello has no logic.
-
When everyone said Wales should be an easy win, i said i bet it wont be, because when we have expectations like that something goes wrong, and it did, we were very lucky to get 3 points out of that game.
-
Capello has something against Sturridge he really does, last season Sturridge was brilliant for Bolton, but no call up, Welbeck was playing for Sunderland and got a call up, and Sturridge was scoring goal after goal. Even now after a good performance still over looked, don't get me wrong it is less chance of injury and going out of form but it's just weird how much he's over looked by capello.

You have watched much more Bolton games than me, i probably watched about 6-7 games of them last season, including all match of the day highlights, but that doesn't count that much. I don't think he's a terrible player at all, i think he's good, he can't be that bad, because i havent seen him that bad. It's good you've noticed wheaters ability, i've watched him play many times, mostly for Middlesbrough and he was always good, went on a dip last season with them when Strachan was manager, but i already explained why that is. And i thought Gardner was a natural left winger?, i usually see him there, my bad. I still think Davies is a good player despite he is getting old, he offers ability still. I don't think there a bad team, i think they will get better, there is worse teams in my opinion. Cahill, saw him in every bolton match last season, was solid defender, you watching more games you possibly do have a more solid opinion than i do, and truthful, but i think Cahill is very good, did well for England too, certainly not an average defender, a good one who should be playing for a better team than Bolton, Spurs would suit him, i agree he's not world class, but he's a good defender.
-
Lol, he did at first when he scored the goal, must of been a big rush for him then remembered and yeah, stopped. Still though very good lad, and he knows how much Bolton done for his career.
-
I think Bolton are a good team, they definitely need a striker no doubt about it, and they could definitely do with another central midfielder, Gardner operates on the wing more, i rate Petrov quite a lot, i think he's got a great left foot, good at cutting in and on the left, Kakuta also they have to play on the left, so Petrov can also play on the right and cut in. Kevin Davies is a good player, bit of a cunt when your the oppesition because of his tackling, but he's good at holding the ball up and doing what he does, being a big nuisence. Reo Coker good player i think, i think he will do well for Bolton, but i definitely think they need another midfielder. Defence is pretty good to be honest, Zat Knight i agree, but have you ever seen David Wheater play?, well i have, as a boro lad i know how good David Wheater is and he's a very special player, he was always going to make it into premier league, last season for the boro he was very poor because he got big headed and new he was going to go into the premier league, especially how he drives his new cars everyday around my area like he doesn't give a fuck, also had a car crash before he left lol, but forget all that, i think Wheater is a very talented player he will definitely be good for Bolton i know he will, he just has a bad attitude. Robinson was pretty poor, but Sturridge is such a tricky player it's wasn't easy for him to deal with. And as for there right backfrom Iceland, forgot his name i've seen him been pretty solid also. And i don't have to explain about Cahill do i?, i think there a good team, they should be able to finish mid table, not a team who should be fighting for relegation, Elmander offered them a lot yes, but midfield is a problem for them more than anything really, don't know why that Klasnic wasn't playing either... he's scored 3 goals this season... must of been injured. Though it's a matter of opinion i suppose, but i think there a good team, they've had it hard and i doubt they'll be like this for long, they've got there big games out of the way, now they can fully concenrate on having a new start.
-
I think he's much better than Welbeck, Welbeck relies on too much assistance, where Sturridge can craft magic out of nothing, i think he's a much better shooter too and has a lot more trickery, i find him more special than Welbeck. I bet during this season the media will have Sturridge Vs Welbeck debate.

I am very happy today, this is the improvement we need!, i have been looking for this for a fucking year now. With AVB's attacking formation means conceding more goals than usual, so people we need to get used to it. I missed the last 35 minutes of second half, had to go somewhere unfortunately, but kept updated with my iphone on the score. Bolton aren't a bad team at all, so don't go on about that, you think about it they've had the harshest start out of anyone so far, they've played the top 5 teams already, i'm sure they will do just fine. That coyle is bloody brilliant, love the manager me, never gets bitter or holds grudges and very good at being positive and motivating, how he got the team performing like that in 2nd half when your 4-0 down is beyond me, cracking man he is. Impressed with the team, especially Sturridge, he is showing improvement on that right wing instead of just going for shots all the time. Ivanovic came on i see and played very well?, that's good, but still Bosingwa should start ahead of him simply because he's more offensive and a good runner in the team, he offers a lot. Lampard proved me wrong, i thought he would give another under performing game and it was just a bit of hype, but well done to him, hope he keeps playing like this and actually realises he can't get a keep playing shit and starting every game at the same time. Mata worked well with him, Ramires good as usual didn't do any of his magic thought today, well not from what i seen of the match, still good though. Meireles did all he could as CDM, wasn't perfect defensivly but he offered pace in the midfield and always kept it kicking and pumping instead of slowing play. But at least it looks like the manager sorted it out with subs, with Ivan and Mikel, god knows what bolton could of done, they could of made a good comeback, no surprises when thinking about it with Coyle however. Very impressed with the team good to see good football played we've never had this in ages, were showing signs. Free kick, to be fair the defending wasn't extremely poor at all, it was a good free kick in a dangerous area, i think it could of happened to anyone, what pisses you off is we conceded from another free kick, wasn't on we could of easily stopped like the other two, i thought it was a good free kick.
-
Okay i agree with that, we do need backup, injuries hit us hard last season with our small squad and i think they could hit us again, especially if someone like Mata got injured. We could certainly do with a winger to give us options, United have tonnes of options, they've got many injuries now but still look a good team. A winger who can play on both wings would be good, someone like Pedro who can play both wings, can't see us getting him however. Second striker?, i really don't know who, and could he play in our formation?, it would be very difficult for him to get a game i think, and would they be willing to sit on the bench most games?.
-
I've noticed that too.
-
Anelka???, i think we have far too many strikers, but who could we get exactly?, i don't think we need a second striker, i think we need a good winger. We play a formation of 4-3-3, clearly Torres will be starting as striker, Mata on the left who comes down the centre, and then a second striker on the right wing?, i think we could really do with a winger there to be honest, perhaps if we played with two strikers up front i'll agree with you. But the only one i can think of really is Anelka at the moment, who is a very technical all round player. But he lacks a lot of qualities you suggested there, Hulk would be a fantastic buy to be honest, but that would mean less games for the likes of Sturridge.
-
I don't think striker is the problem, do we need another winger?, definitely!, we could do with a very good crosser, we don't have that, Mata is a free role player, which is good because we need the creativity, but right wing we only have that option to cut in since all our wingers are left footed, besides Anelka, but he's all round. I think we need a right winger who is constant down that flank and puts good crosses into the box, United have 3 of them, and Valencia is a brilliant crosser, he can just stand there and cross them in and almost all of them are effective, brilliant player he is. City don't play too much with wingers but they have the likes of Adam Johnson who can cut in or cross, brilliant player he is. I think that's all we could do with, i would prefare an experienced one however, De Bruyne is very young, brilliant player but might be a bit too young.
-
Haha then where both right!.
