  1. Expect the cynics to say he chose to stay in 2008 only because of a salary hike
  2. The second penalty was a non starter. Mind you the perfectly legitimate disallowed goal cancels it out.
  3. Oh and Torres must start as well. He is a big match player. That's 2 years ago. We all know he isn't the same anymore. On current form, Ramires > Essien.
  4. Mikel must start. His presence allows Cole and Bosingwa to bomb forward. Essien isn't disciplined enough for a diamond/4-3-1-2. In fact I'd pick Ramires over Essien as the shuttler in midfield alongside Lampard. --------Mikel--------- Ramires--Lampard ------Anelka---------
  5. If he doesn't celebrate, it doesn't mean he is not happy here. It just means he wants to respect Liverpool for the time he had there, and let's face it they had a very special connection right from the start. Remember how Hasselbaink refused to celebrate when he scored against us with Charlton? Or when Anelka did the same against Arsenal in the 4-1 at Emirates in 08-09? I'm not saying the ones who celebrate are being disrespectful - it's their personal choice and I don't see any malice in it. Personally, I couldn't care one way or the other. As long as he scores goals, he's fine by me
  6. I've hated that pikey bastard for the longest time now. Well ever since he pushed and shoved Lampard around in that Carling Cup final. True, I respect Ferguson a lot more than I'll ever respect Wenger. He is a disgrace.
  7. 1. Do you agree with the shirt burning antics? 2. Who do you think got the better deal? 3. Do you hold a grudge against Torres bearing in mind he moved to be part of a winning team?
  8. Yes it makes technical sense to keep Anelka around as he offers something different to Torres/Drogba but purely looking at wages I guess he could make way.
  9. I hope you come in peace because a Liverpool fan signing on to a Chelsea forum at this time under these circumstances won't be taken very well if you troll or look for trouble.
  10. Yes those figure's are last year's and the salary savings from Ballack, Deco, Riccy and all aren't accounted for but when you consider Torres is on 180k a week and Luiz would be pocketing decent money as well, also the renegotiations of Ivanovic, Bruma and Kakuta's contracts (maybe Bosingwa too) so it almost becomes the same as before. And yes I too think Torres will replace Drogba. I'm not knocking the guy at all, he's forever a legend here but these figures make me think a big earner like Drogba is on his way out. EDIT - Anelka is also possible. He has expressed interest in MLS.
  11. Don't worry I'll keep having a quiet word with him on his facebook
  12. The initial hysteria is over for me. Time for him to prove himself and show that he deserves Osgood's no.9 shirt.
  13. From Soccernet - "Chelsea's annual wage bill has soared to £172.5 million - almost £40 million more than the next highest payers Manchester City. The figure for the year ending June 2010 is revealed in Chelsea's full annual accounts lodged with Companies House on Friday and shows a significant increase on the previous year. In 2009, the club spent £165.6 million on wages but that sum included pay-offs worth £12.6 million to sacked manager Luiz Felipe Scolari and his assistants. Excluding the pay-offs, the rise in wages is £19.5 million and represents a 12.7% increase. Manchester City's wage bill is £133.3 million, Manchester United's £131.7 million and Arsenal are fourth with £110 million spent annually on salaries, according to their most recent accounts. Chelsea's wages are 82% of their turnover - more healthy than City's 106% - but way off United's level of 46% and Arsenal's of 49%. The figures also confirm that Chelsea reported losses of £70.9 million compared to £44.4 million the previous year. The club indicated earlier this week that they believe they will halve their losses in the next financial year. The latest accounts also reveal that Chelsea will be liable for £3.8 million extra in National Insurance contributions if HM Revenue and Customs succeeds in its legal case that image rights payments should be taxed as income. If that is proved, the players themselves would be liable to pay any tax individually in relation to image rights." 82% wages to turnover is incredible bad. Financial fair play rules limit to 70%. The ouster of those 5 players in the summer would have shaved off a chunk of it but now with Torres the highest earner at the club and Luiz arriving, it's back to square one. Another summer clearout?
  14. Thank you so much guys UTC
  15. Right mates I'm going to be away from TC for a while now. Something's come up in my life that needs to be taken care of. Have got to right a few wrongs and set the record straight. I'll pop back in once in a while on matchdays maybe but nowhere near as regularly as now. Make no mistake, I'll be following the Chels with as much fervour and passion as always. Just wanted to pop in and say farewell to you lot. I've made some great friends on here and have absolutely loved every moment of my stay. Some of you who're on facebook will still see me around. This isn't permanent by any means though. Hope to see us getting our hands on the elusive Big Ears in the meantime. Take care and KBTFFH !
